the rules
I know rules suck, but please follow them.
They help keep our site fun, organized, and safe.
Thanks!
>> joining1. Please register as your first and last name, properly capitalized. EG: Logan Howlett If you register with a canon name and we do not see a reserve, a WIP application or if admins have not heard from you, we will change the name. Just because you register a canon name does not mean it is reserved!
2. Your application must be filled out within a week. If it is not, you will receive a PM and/or e-mail from us. If you reply back within three days with a logical explanation, you will be given another three to five days. If not, your application will be archived.
3. This is movie verse, so there is a lot you can do in adapting a canon character. If you would like an OC please make sure they are original! In powers or premise. If they have the same powers as a canon they will NOT be as powerful or strong, if they are an amalgam of a few canon all powers will need to be lessened. Taking Jean Grey, Storm, and Wolverine and splicing their powers together isn't original and won't be accepted.
4. Admins will talk about applications. So if you are asked to make changes or clarify you can either do so, or look for another board that will not ask for changes. Being rude, argumentative, or abusive is not tolerated. Please be patient, in order to save headaches once your application is up, ALL of staff looks at it and weighs in, in the staff room. One staff member then takes all the notes and messages you privately. You will work with that staff member who will keep the rest of staff informed on making your character and application fit our universe.
>> characters1. We allow both canon and originals. Canon not shown in the movie are still welcome. They will need to be adapted to the movie verse. Please check Premise for what movies are considered canon. For originals, again, try and find something that is not canon, otherwise consider the canon, if you don't like the canon's history it can be adapted, many weren't shown in movie verse so there is a lot of leeway with them.
2. Canon characters not in the movies may be asked to lower powers. No character will be allowed to add powers. Originals will NEVER be as powerful as canon counterparts. Meaning if you are a telepath, you will not be as powerful as Xavier, Emma, or Jean. You will also have to lower powers should you decide to add in more then one or two. The more powers, the weaker each of them is going to be.
3. Everyone wants their original characters to be unique. However, staff will look them over to make sure they are kept realistic. We are limiting the amount of 'drama' in their backgrounds. Including, rapes, kidnappings, abuse, dead family members, connections to established groups, mysterious benefactors. The thing to truly bear in mind is that Every Death Counts. Nameless, faceless, it counts. After all, your character is nameless and faceless to some, you wouldn't want to be murdered and used for plot.
4. Realism will be asked for in characters. Meaning if you are adding or playing out a different religion, culture, mental illness, etc. then please do the research. Staff reserves the right to ask for changes at any time if they are not being played out realistically.
>> roleplaying1. Try to use proper spelling and grammar. We know mistakes happen, and respect that, but please try your best.
2. This site is rated R. If your posts will go higher than PG-13, put an {M} for mature in your topic title. We do not censor, if you don't want to see it, don't read it, if you don't want to play it, then don't. Fade to black is fine.
3. Each post should be a good two paragraphs. I know writing block comes, but try not to make a habit out of short posts. Absolutely NO one liners! Also, if your roleplaying partner posts three paragraphs, try to give them at least two. You have no idea how annoying it is when a four paragraph post is replied to with only one.
4. On the other hand, don't post a novel. A good five paragraphs should be a maximum, though you can go higher if your roleplaying partner can match it. Just try to stay below 1000 words, okay?
5. There are some things in roleplay you will need to discuss first. Discuss with the other player involved then have BOTH players PM the same admin the information. Wait for approval before moving forward. This is just to prevent the board getting overrun with larger plots and happenings. The following are things to discuss and get permission for in advance: pregnancies, murders, switching teams (note not recruiting for people not on a team), loss of powers, increased powers, rapes, deaths.
>> other1. Siggies should be no more than 500x300, two 200x200 avatars, three 100x100 avatars, etc., and avatars no bigger than 100x100.
2. No advertising in the c-box, and keeping swearing to a minimum. Linking your name to a site is also spam, don't do it. If someone asks about a board your on, ask if you can PM or tell them it's in the ad section. Thanks!
3. To keep things simple we use a three warning system. Three formal warnings, then a ban. Now a reminder is not a warning, you will be told if it's a formal warning and usually only if it's large or consistently ignored information.
HAVE FUN!
