An AU Marvel based board. Taking place in our own movie verse, Origins is not canon, nothing after X2 is. Blade, Ironman, Spiderman, and Fantastic Four are all here as well, not to mention some new friends and enemies. Feel free to look around and ask questions.

More and more the world is hearing about them. Those that are different. The mutants. The metahumans. The freaks. While some are embraced as heroes like the Fantastic Four, others are still seen as a threat, like the Brotherhood, and yes even the X Men. The government has long had a hand in the control and experimentation of meta humans and mutants, now they too have come out into the open. S.H.I.E.L.D. has come to the forefront of both protection against those with special abilities and powers, and seemingly for those same people. After the incident at Alkali Lake and the Silver Surfer, there is no denying the presence of those different then us. Now with the surprise discovery of one of America's heroes survived frozen by Stark Enterprises, a new team is formed. The Avengers. Working in conjunction with S.H.I.E.L.D. they are the bright example that there is hope for coexistence. We are a movie verse Marvel site. Our goal is to keep to the real world as much as possible, bringing the comics back down to a more grounded atmosphere. As such often canon characters are asked to tone down abilities and powers. We do this to keep the focus on interaction, on storylines, and on development of characters. Not on heroes with ultimate power, or villains with plots for world domination. We do not follow the comic stories of Omega levels, and we do not rank the power levels of our characters. Simply because, it's not about power, it's about how a person deals with it. Every death counts, just like in real life so mass murderers will not be running around killing off NPCs through out the city. Everyone starts on an even playing field, canon and original alike. If it wasn't in the movies, then it has to be played out, joining a faction, gaining power, these aren't things you just have because you wrote them in an application, they are things you acquire. We want to keep as much of the realism in our game as possible. Staff is around to help with any questions and is more then happy to help members get their characters involved, whether in the plot or just in a storyline. Feel free to look over our Website to see what has been going on since the incident at Alkali Lake where we pick up from. There is also cast information and more information on the spotlight, and members for you to peruse. Movies considered Canon:
X Men & X2 Fantastic Four & Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Blade trilogy Daredeveil Elektra Spiderman I & II Ironman Incredible Hulk (second movie)
Movies NOT Canon:
X3 Origins Spiderman III the First Hulk Movie Ironman II
Any characters not in the movies but Marvel canon are still allowed if adapted. Originals also more then welcome! Meta Human, mutants, and humans for S.H.I.E.L.D. agents especially needed along with the established teams.

Our World information on what we've crafted here First and foremost it should be noted that we are playing in this universe. Meaning the one you and I inhabit. We are taking Marvel and fitting it into our world, rather then fit our world around Marvel. As such, we are trying to keep things a level and realistic playing field. People in the Freak Nation. To adapt a character, canon or original, to this board we know can be difficult. Taking characters that in many ways have been written over the years or designed for a world full of alternate dimensions, massive powers and abilities, and costumes no one would really wear and bringing them into our world is difficult. Staff is more then happy to help, however, in the end, it is your character. That being said here are some things to bear in mind to make the application and transition easier. - Murder is still murder. If you are a villain and have murdered several people, chances are you will end up roleplaying a lot from a prison cell. Not entertaining. So realize there are other ways of gaining power, and of being a villain other then murder and rape.
- Let's be honest, not everyone that has powers is a superhero, or a spy, or a government agent. Many are just people trying to live their lives. We look for consistency and realism. saying you have become an assassin sounds interesting but really, how do you just become one?
- Goals are to be worked towards, not automatically gained. So you want to be the leader? Own the largest business in the world? Have a reputation as, well anything? Then earn it. Just because you can write a sentence or two in an application of how much everyone admires you, fears you, or knows of your power doesn't make it so. Everyone comes into the board having to earn their place. Even canon. Nothing is set in stone.
- Powers are real. That is the premise isn't it? That mutants and meta humans are real? So while in the brightly colored comics it might make sense to lift 20 tons, to be able to fly, manipulate people's minds to do whatever you say, it is a bit much for the real world. The more powerful you are, the more chance of god modding. Remember, no one god mods. Even NPCs. If you would like to be able to auto hit then you need to ask staff AND the person you are auto hitting.
- Keep it in check. Yes even canon characters have had to adapt their powers to fit. While the character you have in mind might fit in just fine in the comics they may not fit in well here. Feel free to check out what other characters have as far as powers so you can get an idea of how to limit them. Mostly we want details. How strong? Normally, pushing it out of anger, going all out and hurting yourself. Ask yourself if it really needs to be that powerful. In this world, does it really make a difference lifting 10 tons or 100? Once you hit a certain mark anything more is just too much and unnecessary.
- Teams are new. This is new to everyone in this world. Working together. We are just starting to have teams intermingle and many are just being formed. If you want to automatically be part of a team, canon or not, you need to ask. Even some canon characters have to role play out being recruited. The only exceptions would be from those movies we've deemed canon.
- Tech is around the same as what you see in every day life. Oh there are a few notable exceptions but they are few and far in between. Fantastic Four has what you have seen in the movies and that is it. The same for Iron Man. So teleporters, image inducers, holographic cities, are all out. When in doubt always ask staff first.
- Staff may ask for changes. This is a big one. Adapting can take some work. So in the end, don't be frustrated if staff asks for more detail on powers, or for you to lower them or adapt them. We are working on making a cohesive board, keeping everyone in the same universe. So if we find too many powers, or they don't correlate or are just too strong, we'll ask for changes. Don't get frustrated, in the end it will make the roleplaying experience that much better!
Adamantium in the Freak Nation. Adamantium is a steel alloy that is considered top secret by the U.S. government. Very few people have access on how to make it, and most likely no one person has the whole formula. Adamantium is seldom used because of fear enemies may find some way to reverse engineer the formula from captured pieces, because of how difficult the refining process is, and primarily due to expense. It is simply not cost effective to make things out of the miracle metal. As you could buy plutonium easier then adamantium. Adamantium stays in a liquid form so long as it remains above 1500’F. Once cooled its molecular structure is extremely stable and the metal is unable to be further manipulated. Due to its hardness, Adamantium absorbs a level of blunt forces. Also because of how tightly packed its atomic bonds are, it is not a conductor of electricity. Adamantium is extremely limited because of this. Unless it is part of the core character, and canon, it will not be seen or employed.

Our Staff how we work and why we're here Staff has spent a lot of time telling members that we are here for you. Questions, ideas, plots, that's what we're here for. We realize that might be a bit vague so here is some specifics to help you understand what we are here for. Editors of the PlotStaff bandies around ideas, plots and members in the staff room, always looking for ways to adapt things to the players, which is why some of our plots get put aside or delayed so that they work around members and not the other way around. While discussing things one staff member had a wonderful way of explaining why we work so hard on plots and members and helping everyone to get involved. Think of us, as the comic book editors. (Yes I know we are movie verse but this will make sense trust me.) Comic books, especially Marvel have had issues dealing with specific teams, with crossovers, and individual shots about one or two characters. All of that is going on at once on the board. The main plot is the big crossover issue with everyone involved. Then there is the issue about the teams. X Men issue, Avengers issue, Brotherhood and so on. Individual issues are going on with specific members. Our job, is to make sure they all flow. Having an individual issue with someone tearing up New York city doesn't work if in the big crossover nothing has happened to the city right? So while we have no problems with individual plots and things going on, if something happens that affects more then two people interacting, if it becomes something that would grab the attention of the media, the city, the teams, then we kind of want to be let in on it. If nothing else so we can make sure that it's reacted to in the bigger plot. We are constantly adapting the bigger board plots because of this. That's not a complaint, we love being able to roll with the punches, see where members take what is happening. We also like getting new members involved. So if your character isn't sure where to go or how they could ever become part of things that have already been going on, don't despair! Contact staff and let us know what you're hoping for. To run into a specific person, or team, to be recruited to a group, and we can work a way into the plot to get you where you need to be! All we need is your communication. That is so much more preferable to staff then to find out after the fact that a thread has gotten away from you, there's too much godmodding or you've written yourselves into a corner. As an editor, having to try and fix a storyline that went too far and bring it back is so much worse then adapting an already in progress story line. (Phoenix *ahem*) TransitionsOf course before you even join up into the plot I'm sure you've noticed there's work to be done. The applications. We admit the way we do applications is a little more time intensive but we also know that it's worth it. Who likes putting all that work into an application, taking notes from one staff member, getting the okay, then having to do it all over again with another staff member?? So when your application is finished, we all look at it. Each staff member takes the time to give it a thorough read over and make notes in the staff room. We look for personalities to match history, for all skills and powers to be listed and understood. Details on how they are used and limits, realism in history and powers for our site, and a multitude of other things. Once all of staff has had their say, one staff member will take lead. What does that mean? That means you the player will only have to worry about messages to and from that one staff member. Everything messaged back and forth will be put up in staff so we all have a say, but it makes it easier for you as you only have to worry about dealing with one person. That staff member will work with you and with the rest of staff to adapt your character to the site. They will also help you with how to introduce them and where to fit them in. Consider them your transition specialist. It may take a little while but once you are approved both you and staff will have a solid character that will fit into the game, the plot, and the world we have here. Which in turn helps make sure that you'll be able to roleplay here to your heart's content and not have to worry about little things like, would you be able to, would you know, or how would you get there. MaintenanceThis is of course both the things we all know about and the things we forget go with running a site. Archiving threads, figuring out new plots, discussing ideas members have had and how to implement them, moderating threads, advertising, cleaning up advertising, activity checks, spotlights, putting threads into story format for the site, bios for the site, greeting new people, keeping up the canon lists, face claims, affiliates, graphics, new skins and designs, dealing with spammers, any OOC drama or issues. All the little things that we hope to do easily and quietly and for the most part without members even being aware. Of course that's not always possible when there is a larger issue like plagiarism or abuse, but we deal with it as quickly and competently as we can.
