Day 8 --- 9:04 a.m
Growing up down south, Gale had seen his fair share of shrubs and greenery. Not to mention the occasional old lady, lonely man yard competitions. But he'd never seen a garden of this caliber. The gardens here at the institute were breathtakingly beautiful. Sure he hadn't seen all of it but this was his first time exploring this part of the school.
He hadn't intended on coming down here. He'd fallen asleep the night before reading, and simply awoke to an entire paragraph pressed into his cheek. Scrubbing the ink of furiously he found himself wide awake at this point. Astounding himself as he hated mornings. But this was better than simply lying in his room alone than being out meeting people. So pulling on a favorite button down shirt and jeans he walked his way downstairs with his shoes and socks in hand.
Stopping at the bottom stairs he sat and pulled on his last appendages and in return getting a few strange looks from his classmates. Standing he aimed for the kitchen. But the mass of voices and laughter stilled him. He wasn't usually a bashfull person, but things had changed for him. He wasnt the goofy little kid that had arrived here. He'd done alot of growing over the past few days. His father had said this over the phone and Gale had brushed it off thinking nothing off it.
But he knew himself better than anybody, at least he thought so, and his father had been right in a way. His powers just didn't let him walk in and go: "Sup everyone!' There was a chance of him blowing something off the wall or blowing someone to bits. No he'd best head to a more densely populated area of the school.
Lost in thought and aimlessly wondering around he found himself outside. He hadn't been on this part of the grounds and curiosity could drive him insane. Walking a few minutes more he found himself surrounded by shrubbery and gardens. This had to be the gardens. What other place on school grounds had this much leafy substance. Unless you counted the kids who actually were leafs and what not this place won hands down.

Lorna after her conversation with Logan on the stair left Ray-Ray to go eat her breakfast before her stomach got the better of them and she went to post on the school’s message board that Jean’s and Scott’s classes were study halls for the day. The green haired girl was now looking for junior members to supervise the missing teachers’ classes. She was hoping to find Kitty and/or Peter for the job because she was really unsure if it was wise to allow Bobby to supervise anything.
Instead of finding Kitty or Peter she found Gale. She watched him for a moment trying to place his face with maybe a name and/or power but nothing clicked right away which made her wonder if he was new. The idea that he might be new made Lorna wonder if he was lost, which most new students and some old students tend to get with the pure size of the campus.
“You need help?” Lorna finally asked as she shifted her back weight to one shoulder and tilted her head to the sight. She smiled and did her best to look friendly and not distracted. “Don’t mean to bother you if you are just enjoying the scenery but you look lost.”

Gale hadn't heard Lorna Dane approaching him. Though if he'd been paying attention he would have noticed the different shade of green steadily approaching. He jumped slightly and a hole seemingly burned into the side of the shrub to the side of him. He returned Lorna's smile, albeit sheepishly.
"Nah. Actually I'm quite bored." He said earnestly as he watched the green haired girl. If he remembered correctly, her name was Lorna. She was the daughter of that terrorist Magneto, or at least that's what some of the other students had joked about. He knew the likelihood of that being true were well below par. Firstly because Magneto did not look like he was even the type to even consummate a relationship or even have a kid. It was obvious that even referencing her powers to that old farts were likely to piss her off so he kept his questions to himself. "But maybe you could enlighten me as to whats crack-a-lackin around here." He said smiling at his very cornish joke.
((OOC: sorry it took so long to get back to you, had a very disturbing weekend. but wont happen again))

Lorna paused for a moment wondering how much she was allowed and should tell him. She ran her fingers through her hair and sighed a little. She looked towards the front lawn wondering if Scott was still wondering about. The green haired girl shook her head trying to focus on what was going on in the garden and not what could possibly be happening on the front lawn.
“Well, some of the classes for today have been replaced with study halls. Dr. Grey and Mr. Summers are off campus.” She figured that was enough for him to know what was going on without going into details. “Don’t worry about boredom. For some reason I don’t think things are going to stay boring for long.” She shook her head and looked to Gale trying to keep her smile in place.
Lorna tilted her head to side a bit as she stared at him, still trying to place his name. Her mind went slowly over all the names she heard around the mansion trying to find a name that fit or click with. She didn’t want to ask him for it would seem rude.

So both of them had gone off campus. Probably told the students about business related things that had to be done. But it was probably a secret date the two had planned to get away from their annoying students. Some of the kids here could drive you insane with their antics and Gale could fully understand why they would want to ditch their classes for some alone time away from the school they probably spent years in before going out to actually do something.
But Lorna was a nice girl. Cute too. He simply adored her green hair and found it to adorable to simply keep to herself. He'd have to ask her if it was natural one day. Perhaps if the two ever got to know each other better. He wasn't sure if she even knew his name. It was after all the first time the two had even had a conversation so it was only fair that he introduce himself. He would have extended a hand...but he was mainly afraid of bursting one of the girls veins if he did that.
So he returned her smile. "Not to be rude or anything. But you're Lorna Dane right?." He probably sounded like the king of all a-holes when he said that, but he was trying his best to be sincere. "But, It'd be rude for you to tell me your name first and all. I'm Gale Correy.."

Lorna wondered should she be surprise the boy she didn’t know his name knew hers or feel bad for not being more observant. Then again she figured they were man green haired girls wandering around even in a mutant school. She wondered if the fact she stand out so much was a good or bad thing.
“Gail?” She repeated and couldn’t help feel a bit sorry for him. It made her think of the Johnny Cash song , ‘A Boy Name Sue’, which made her wonder if one day Gale was going to track down his father and beat him up for giving him such a feminine name. She blinked trying re-focused her thoughts. “That must have made your school life interesting.”
Lorna shook her head and blush hoping she didn’t come off too rude. She decided to move on before she made herself look more like a jerk. “But yeah, I am Lorna Dane.”
“Despite what you might have heard my parents aren’t Magneto and a leprechaun.” She said with a sigh knowing that was one of the more interesting rumors going around about her. It got points for being creative along with extremely weird. “I don’t even know how that even suppose to work. Aren’t all leprechauns guys?”Lorna shrugged as if it wasn't important.
“Anyways! I never even have been to Ireland…” She tilted her head to side adding. “Or really like Lucky Charms cereal for that matter…”

It had been difficult, but Sarah did it. She had breakfast with all (or most) of the other students. Of course, she had kept her portions a bit smaller than what she would've liked, but even so, it was an accomplishment in her book. Besides, she'd helped herself to a few pieces of toast and two blueberry muffins on her way out of the dining room, so she definitely wasn't starving herself anymore.
A bit proud of herself, though still not entirely full, the young redhead wandered out of the mansion, figuring that now was a good time to visit the gardens. She figured it was one of the few places that most students didn't have much interest in, and after having to eat near them, a little solitude seemed an appropriate reward. But as she neared her destination, Sarah felt her heart drop a bit with the weight of disappointment tinged with irritation at the sight of two people talking directly in the area she thought was prettiest. At least, if she were alone it would've been pretty. After a few more steps though, the upset mutant realized that part of the green around one of the body's heads wasn't foliage. Her bitter mood improved the closer she got to Lorna, though Sarah wondered who the boy was.
Swallowing the last bit of toast, muffins gripped firmly in one pale hand at her side, the gothic young girl approached Lorna and 'boy' with a look of reserved curiosity.
"...Lucky Charms cereal for that matter…”
At the mention of food Sarah automatically looked down at the two muffins she held. She would have to plan a better breakfast next time, now that she knew where everything was. One involving cereal. "Hey, what about Lucky Charms?"

Despite what had been said about Lorna Dane, Gale himself found the girl quite a treat to be around. And yes. He had come to that conclusion within two minutes of simply saying nearly five words to her. He snorted and quickly tried to engage in more humanely normal laughter, but failed miserably as his nose made that sound again. How embarrassing. But he wasn't trying to impress her anyhow so he shouldn't have worried to much. He hadn't heard the leprechaun crack about her yet...yet meaning it was only a matter of time. Likely.
"Nope. The worst cracks I got in school were dirty jew because I apparently have a jew-fro. Or something of the sort." Gale replied. Of course the dirty jew joke had been a joke made by only his closest friends. No his worst experiences in school happened when he was in third grade. Looking back on it now. Elementary school kids were just plain mean. But of course they'd grown up and out of their ridiculous name calling. Or at least some of them had.
He caught another girl in his peripheral. She looked...different. Gale wasn't sure how to describe her. She was just...different. That was the nicest thing he could think of to say. But he had to admit, she dressed nice for one of the ever growing emo/goth population kids. "Seems our friend here has a dislike for lucky charms. Something about her being afraid of leprechauns or something." Gale said jokingly to the newcomer.

“I am not afraid of the leprechauns I just wanted it to be known that my linage is leprechaun free.” Lorna said with a slight shrug as she blew her hair out of her eyes. The green haired girl shifted her weight from one leg to another. “The conversation somehow dipped to horror stories of public and private schools.”
Lorna wondered how she got herself into weird conversation. Leprechauns and Lucky Charms didn’t come up in everyday conversation but some how they found their way into her conversation. Probably a sign she was crazy or need to filter what she said more. Than again maybe it was both. Which ever it was she probably should think too much about it. She shook her head.
“Anyways, I don’t like Lucky Charms and I am not in anyway related to the Lucky Charm Leprechaun not matter what some of the other students may tell you.” She filled in Ray-Ray what she had met. She was glad to see the redhead, mainly because she was the only other person she knew that knew what was going on, well at least as much as she did. She was also was happy about the fact she knew the shifter had ate and didn‘t have to worry about her changing at the scent of blood or meat. “Had a good breakfast, Ray-Ray?”
She realized that she probably she introduce the two to each other. “Gale this is my friend, Ray-Ray. Ray-Ray this is Gale, I found him wandering the garden aimlessly.”

The slightly older girl watched the small bit of back 'n forth between the two teens, face a blank but not necessarily unpleasant stare that went from one face to the next. Once Lorna had finished her Lucky Charms Leprechaun defense, the other girl lifted her head, bringing it down in a short series of small nods of understanding. "Ah, yeah...the rumors." The last bit was muttered, as Sarah wasn't particularly comfortable with the subject and she didn't think Lorna would be either. "It was good. Lots of pancakes."
When the green haired one introduced Gale, Sarah turned her face back to him, attempting to make her expression slightly more pleasant. "Hi, nice to meet you." It was all she could really think to say. It was a bit difficult for the gothic little redhead to be nice to people she didn't know and also wanted out of her hiding place. Selfish feelings pushed aside with a tinge of guilt, Sarah offered the stranger a hand.

Gale wasn't sure whether or not to raise a hand to shake the girls hand. Not because he thought she was gross or anything. But mainly because if he moved his hand to fast he might end up giving the girl a bruise or something. Or he could accidentally blow apart the hedge and start a fire and cause the entire school to burn down around him, because he'd been reckless. Yes. He was being overly morbid, but his powers had caused that mainly. So he didn't raise his hand to shake hers but he smiled warmly.
"Gale Correy." He said with a large smile. Hoping the girl wouldn't get offended. "Sorry I can't really shake your hand, but with my powers I could accidentally blow up something or give you a bruise or something. And I'd hate to scar to lovely ladies now wouldn't I?" He nodded his head again at the red haired female, hoping she wouldn't get to upset over his neglect of her hand.

Lorna was glad that Ray-Ray had a good breakfast and was a little sad that she didn’t have time to grab some for herself. “Pancakes?” The green hair girl repeated with a slight pout. She had forgotten it was Pancake Day. Though, she was quick to remind herself that her thighs would thank her later for being pancake free even if her stomach wouldn’t.
She blinked focusing on what was being said, trying not think about the pancakes she wasn‘t getting. She raised an eyebrow slightly and tilted her head to the side. “What kind of blow up? The ka-pow kind?” Lorna thought for a minute and spoke her thoughts out loud. “I know there is suppose to be a kid at the school the can blow things up with air like a balloon. Though, I think the ka-pow kind is more common…”
“The way I spark and kill watches I avoid handshaking, too.” Lorna touched Gale’s arm trying to reassure him that it was okay. She didn’t want anyone to feel like an odd man out, that was her job. “Don’t worry about shaking hands. Around here they are a lot of people who avoid touching people for various reasons.”
The thought of blowing up stuff made her think of Tabby and wonder about her for she hadn‘t seen or heard the loud blonde in a while. Most of the students had been staying to themselves since the attack and figured maybe Tabby was to. She figured she had to be around and didn’t give it another thought.
"By chance Ray-Ray did you see any of the junior Xers at breakfast?” She shifted the weight of her backpack, it was getting heavy which just made her realize she had to find a place to stash it before it crippled her.

The older girl gave another understanding nod towards Gale and put her hand back down. The comment about 'lovely ladies' did make her quirk an eyebrow though. After what she'd gone through, flattery didn't seem so appealing to her anymore. "Don't worry about it. At least you're not in danger of eating anyone if you skip lunch." She muttered with a slight look of contempt in her eyes, which she quickly cast downward so as not to make Gale feel like it was aimed at him.
Sarah thought on Lorna's question for a minute before shaking her head. "Nah, but I don't really look around too much when I eat." She admitted. As if the subject had reminded her, the redhead lifted the hand holding two blueberry muffins. She was still a bit hungry, but eating in front of people was uncomfortable for her. "You want one of my muffins?" She asked, looking towards Lorna as she took one from her grip and extended it in offering.

"Yeah the ka-pow kind." He said, slowly raising a hand to scratch at his head. "But not exactly. It's kinda mainly a molecular thing. That's what Doctor Grey had told me anyways. I'm exactly not sure, I just know my hands kinda work like a disruptor ray set on stun....or something.." He looked up from under his bangs at both the girls. He'd probably made no sense at all in trying to explain his abilities. He wasn't exactly sure what Doctor Grey had said when describing his own abilities. But he did like these two girls he was getting to know. They seemed much nicer than he would have guessed if he had only just passed by them in the halls. He smiled widely as Lorna poked his arm. He was especially liking her.
He raised an eyebrow himself when Ray-Ray spoke of eating the other students. He would obviously like her with her morbid sense of humor. Either that or she really was prone to eating the students. She seemed much more crest fallen than Gale had initially perceived of her. Maybe her mutation made her something like a vampire or something. He wanted to ask but he knew that a majority of the students here either disliked their abilities to the point that they would even avoid all topics on the subject just to pretend they didn't have him. And at the moment. Ray-Ray seemed the type to do that. So he blocked his curiosity.
But she did seem nice though. Even if she could sound a little adorably scary. She did in Gale's mind anyway. His mind returned to Lorna's question as she was offered a muffin from the goth girl. "So. Like Lorna. How do you become a junior x man or whatever. Not that I'm trying to be one or anything." He wasn't technically lying. He knew he wanted to teach but if the oppurtunity arose to be something of a superhero...well that'd be just dandy.

Muffin! It was not a pancake but the school use got some really kick ass muffin. She figured one couldn’t really affect her thighs and waistline to much. Lorna couldn’t help but smile at Ray-Ray offer. “Really?” She said a bit surprise she would give up food. She reached to take the offered muffin. “I owe you forever Ray-Ray. I couldn’t even thinking about grabbing anything eat I had to put up that message on the bulletin board.”
Her eyes shifted off her muffin and moved to Gale. She had figured it would be the ka-pow kind. It always seemed to be the ka-pow. Almost like the school was trying pack as many ka-pow kind of mutant in place until it implode or explode. She was unsure which would happen first but at the moment leaning towards exploding.
“I sure she use a lot of big words to explain why you blow things up and how.” Lorna said with a half smile and shook her head. She was sure everyone in the school when they first arrived had the conversation with Jean, Scott or the Professor where they used extremely big words to explain what their powers can do when small words could do. “She did that me to but the big words were use to explain I magnetize and shock stuff.”
Lorna was slightly surprise Gale asked about how to get into the junior squad and shrugged as if it was not a big deal. “Well you have to take ethic and leadership classes, power training and teamwork courses and have a staff sponsor. You also have to rack up the Danger Room time.” The green haired girl tilted her head back knowing there was another way. The other way is to be like Rogue and get a ‘field commission’ as she liked to call it. Rogue because of her experience in the field after the Magneto incident leaped her quickly from student to X-Men.
“Usually you have to do sometime at the school and get to know how things work before moving up.” Lorna said with a slight shrug. “You know the basic hoops you have to jump so the old know you responsible and stuff.”
