Hello all. I understand that most of the time members are unaware of all the dramas of running this board and that is the way we like to keep it. However, from the sheer amount of abuse from another site I feel it necessary to explain a few things. Recently plagiarism was brought to staff's attention. Now from staff's point of view, you do not take someone else's character. Ever. It does not matter to us why it was done, who did it or who reported it. If we have been shown that your original character application is obviously from someone else it is indeed an automatic banning.
Now we all know that most boards have some sort of drama going on usually. Members taking in character things out of character and vice versa. However, most staff does work to keep this at a minimum. Unfortunately what happened was that on another board.
Here There was a banned member. Wishing to get back at the staff that banned them they reported plagiarism to us. We dealt with the plagiarism. Unfortunately the staff there felt we should unban the plagiarizer as the person reporting them was vindictive. It was explained that why it was reported did not matter, only that there was plagiarism. As has been asked of me in the past and most admins that have had to deal with plagiarism, especially in the Marvel world, I asked for IP or emails to try and prove whether or not it really was plagiarism. I was consistently told no and that it didn't matter if the information was taken, because he says, as admin of his site, that it was okay to take it.
