News link.
The tarakava's are one of my favorite sets from this time, its also one of the few sets I dont have a spare of to make the alternate model with. Of course I like the manas more, maybe I can resurect my dead one with the Mana Ko that Im not using anyway? |

Those Bionicle Pens were expensive! It think they were like $8 at the time! But I really wanted one! Didn't LEGO release some kind of Bionicle notebook or journal as well back in 2003?

I never knew there was so much other stuff out in '01. Turaga and Toa just seemed to materialise out of thin air. I didn't find out that Matoran actually existed for some months... Of the stumpy variety, I only got Nuparu (which was an awesome set. I learned to build the boxor without the manual within a week).
I did get the blue Tarakava from Ria, but I've got no idea where the teal one went. Not so much as its mask or tread has been found. Kinda' disappointing. And I tried for years to get Manas... There was this pair of unsold boxes at the end of an aisle in Toys R Us for three years, slowly becoming less and less expensive. I pointed out the new discount every time we went there... I really wanted that set. |

The manas didn't look 'cool' - I didn't bother to Get them. There were other better Lego r/c sets at the time. And those motion motors Lego designer sets were the highlight.
But dang! Looking back on this now, I wish I ought a man back then. |
