Please hold off on clicking any of our news articles for a while, unless you have good faith in your antivirus software. Im playing it safe, and I dont think or know for sure that anything did get into our host software, but a virus seemed to activate on my computer while editing a news post. The virus is pretending to be Windows Security 2012, and appears to want me to download something presumably worse than the current virus or is atempting to scam me into buying the software to get rid of the viruses it claims are on my computer. If you get a similar alert on your computer, it is likley the virus pretending to be your security software!

I've had that virus before. It'll lock down your internet browser, after awhile.
I got rid of it by doing a restore. |

Finally, using the PSP is paying off.
Or at least that's what I think I said. Hope this isn't going to be this year's april fools' gag, Immy. This post has been edited by Takal on Jan 1 2012, 01:43 AM |

For clarification, as the webmaster pointed out, it sounded like I was saying CHQ may have infected my PC. I was trying to say that because the virus started to manifest while I was writing a news post, that it may have jumped from my PC into our server. I think that is very unlikley, due to how my PC interacts with the server, but I wanted to put up an alert just to be safe while he took look at the server.

Philip Wise, for our news page. As far as I know there is no infection on our news page or forums, I wanted to give a heads up just to be safe.
