It's clear to see why Nuara called this place 'dead.' The ground is still blackened from the rahkshii raid years ago that caused her to flee her home. Whatever the rahkshii use in their weapons, it's the equivalent of salting the ground. Few of the charred houses have stood the test of time, though one in particular has a large number of footprints in the ash around the doorway. This, presumeably, was Nuara's home. Here and there, tools and Kanohi lie scattered, their wearers having abandoned them in their exodus, or fell alongside them.
