Title: Your Favorite BIONICLE Music

comicboy15 - May 25, 2011 05:15 PM (GMT)
BIONICLE has actually had a very long history of music! Music has really played a key part in the story and production of BIONICLE sets and it all started with the BIONICLE Power Pack. In the pack, there was a CD containing the music of BIONICLE from back then, and it rocked! But, music wouldn't really some back until 2005, during the visorak swarms. It was then that two tracks were released on the site. Then, in 2006, the All American Rejects helped do a promo with BIONICLE releasing "Move Along." to go along with the inika sets. In 2007, Lego used "Cryoshell" to record songs for BIONICLE. They were used until the end in 2010. So what are my favorite BIONICLE songs? I'll do a top 3

3: The BIONICLE Music, By Lewa

2: Move Along, By the All American Rejects

1: What it Takes to be a Hero, by... well I don't really know!

Yeah! Who wrote the amazing song, "What it Takes to be a Hero?" Probably whoever wrote "Caught up in a Dream." Who was that? And what are your favorite BIONICLE songs?

The artist(s) behind both songs was labelled at "AIK" in the files. Some said it stood for "All Insane Kids", and it sort of stuck, but I don't know if it was ever the official name. BioSector01 claims it is, however. In any case, some of those involved ended up in Cryoshell, so in the end you could call them the same band.

My favorite tunes are:
- The original BIONICLE battle theme
- Legends of Metru Nui theme
- Closer to the Truth

For the first, I love the "tribal", yet mechanical feel it has, coupled with electric guitar. For the second, it has a real tense underscore that really helps the feel. The last one is quite moving in its theme. I could imagine the lyrics being Gali's thoughts as she drifted across the swamps of Karda Nui...

Ah, wait: Can't forget Gravity Hurts! Very uplifting, but not the first song that springs to mind when you say "BIONICLE". Its lyrics fit, but perhaps not the style.

I like most of the music by Cryoshell, and the music from MNOLG I and II.

My favorite out of them all is Gravity Hurts, it is a very uplifting and faithful song.

I remember that CD, with the three songs in the first post in this thread. I actually still have it.

Funny as it is, my favorite song on it is The Bionicle Music.

Something about the Dub-step styled way of the Technological sounds, rock rips, and tribal chanting has me going...
