The article can be seen here.

Steam is basicaly a service that sells games and allows you to download them over the internet. It makes DRM'd games particularly conveineint to me since the game either wont require a code when purchased through them or it keeps the serial key somewhere that you can always find it. It also offers a built in messenger program with friends lists, groups, etc. Its not perfect for everyone though.

You misspelled "friends." But yea I heard bout this, it's pretty cool.

Wait, so you can't normally talk to people in the game? then what's the fun of it being an MMO?

@shadrahk; My previous post has been corrected.

@ToaNuvaTom; You CAN talk to other people, and while I dont know if they will change this in the future, the chat box is so restrictive you cant say or spell out numbers, or even some of the words that are selectable as a temporary minifigure name (that you use while you wait for your name to be approved). It even goes so far as to not let you send the message your typing if there is one qquestionable word in there, rather than blanking it out. At that its even clunky to use. I cant even find a way to send a message to other people, Im sure there has to be a way.

Long story short, if you have several freinds you know outside of LU that have the game too, your better off booting the game with steam and using the shift-tab command to bring up the steam chat box to talk.

I use steam to play Portal (Awesome game BTW) but I don't have any friends on it so I haven't tried the chat feature. ;)

You and the other MOD people can add me if you like, Imatron's my screen name for XBox live, steam, and the playstation network. Though there is a medical company named Imatron, and I suspect theyve beat me to my own name on a few things.

Im looking foward to portal 2 myself, nice of steam to give that game out for free for that short time. I didnt want to rebuy it for steam when I already owned orange box for 360.
