According to this email,
and the early access date for preorders on the 12th, it sounds like it.
I havent seen much on how you play it personaly, but if I can build and drive a car shaped like the word "moo", I think Ill be happy for that first free month you get out of the box.
Have anyone noticed lots of P2P MMO games are being turned to F2P now? If LEGO Universe doesn't do so well, LEGO has to make that game F2P. That would be awesome. Personally, I don't think LEGO Universe will sell well, because I don't think parents would not want their child to be hooked onto the computer all day long, when they can just build MOCs from their own LEGO collection for free, without a monthly payment (unless they buy new sets).
I imagine if the kid likes it, and assuming it allows a decent level of building ability, the parents may be happy to pay ten a month. Who hasnt wished for infinite parts?
If not then I hope the praise Ive heard so far is not unfounded. Most free to play games have a payed teir too, which is how they survive, and Im thinking the nature of the toy this is based off of might make a teiring system difficult.
Id personaly like a lifetime membership option like other gamed are trying out. Im at least happy to have that 30 bucks off for a years play, my only other mmo doesnt have either option >_>
