Hello ladies and gents.
As any of you still trapped in academia know, winter break is coming up toward the end of the month. In the spirit of the free time I am now rapidly acquiring, and our need for new members, I'm going to be launching a new project over the next month designed to bring Fantasia back in line with our former ideals. To that end, I'll be using this thread over the next week to collect new "nominations" for improvement projects, as well as volunteers to help with the rennovations (which is going to carry a rank status! Bribing you with power!). This thread will be closing 1600 GMT on Saturday, December 10th, at which time the ideas will be put together to a pole to vote for the top five. If enough volunteers are found, we may do more than five projects. Thanks everyone! Postscript: Here is a quick timeline of the Project: -December 13th: Voting closes for the rennovation ideas. Some form of group conversation will be held in real-time with the volunteers to decide who wants to do what. -December 25 through December 31: Fantasia brought into offline ("staff only") mode for application of changes. This is to allow us to "beta" the changes without people looking at us make mistakes. - 0001 GMT January 1st: Site brought back fully online with all changes in place. |

okay well first of all we're going to need a crack squadron of folks to sift through the rules and oh gosh just everything to determine how to make our interface such as it is simpler to understand for people that haven't been here for YEARS
because if i recall correctly it's complicated as the dickens. we have all this beautiful lore stacked up but it's more of an optional thing. but the rules, regulations, mysteries and gimmicks need to be reviewed pretty harshly. -------------------- |

To be honest, given how dead the board's been for a couple years now, I'm honestly not sure what the cleanup will accomplish. That said, I'll certainly lend a hand if I'm needed.
Seconding the rules being complicated. -------------------- Number of times I've been shot as the messenger: 0

Rules being complex is a definite barrier to entry for new players, though. I think that one might be a given.
