After a bit of a search, Tiro shook his head. "Nothing, sorry... Let's go after these ones next..."
In the trees above the group, a child sat in the branches, cloaked heavily in brown. |

They came upon the first coeurl as Rukh was leading the way somewhere behind the stables. Or, more accurately, it came upon them.
Four hundred pounds of well-fed and under-exercised killing machine dropped out of a tree, paws and tails flailing, and missed Rukh by about a foot and a half. Coeurls were still feline, so the drop put it in more of a 'oh that's a surprise' mood than a 'killkillkill' one. It bounded over a fallen log to quickly find Tyr (successfully) following it, along with Rukh (who was having a harder time). -------------------- |

Abruptly, the Ahriman swooped out of the air to attack this creature from the front, even as Tired Old Tiro ran up behind it, attempting to grab it by the scruff of the neck and wrestle it to his side.

The Coeurl, deadly bunch of predators though its species was, was not suited to being picked on by things in the air, so Occhiello's attack was both a surprise and wonderful distraction, and Tiro's wrestling succeeded in getting the thing off balance. It continued struggling, however, but its teeth and claws couldn't reach Tiro.
Rukh caught up, huffing and puffing. "I don't get how you people can move so fast around forests," he complained, but didn't seem as irritated as he sounded. -------------------- |

Tiro removed something from his belt-pouch, jabbing it sharply into the Coeurl's flank, cooing softly.
"Oh, hey, good idea, I forgot about those..." Rodney muttered, drawing a couple more of the tranquilizer spikes from his own pocket. They were little two-chambered glass capsules, with one chamber containing a needle. You smashed that end against the target, stabbing them with the needle, and the tranquilizer in the other chamber should be sufficient to bring down your average beast. |

Tyr whistled. "Very nice. Mind sparing a few for us unprepared monkeys?"
"Refer to yourself however you want, but I am not a monkey." "Yes, Rukh dear. There ought to be a panther somewhere westwards, trying to flank..." -------------------- |
