"Um... well, I'm gonna go try'n kill whatever undead things this place has. Remember: use holy on them. These things are for real. Curing them will just repair the rotted body parts."

[Aredjay]

"Wait, I'm staying too," exclaimed Kaitlyn. "Perhaps I could help you hold them off until the bishops arrive?"

Gasp nodded, not speaking; he feared that if he opened his mouth to speak, he'd poison everyone in front of him. Serac had already gone to send Ampere to the next town over; the ball of electricity in question could easily cover some distance.

"Well...all right. I'll fight too." she didn't feel confident going alone with so much undead, so she stayed and casted holy at whatever moved and wasn't living.

[cielo]

Rukh watched Ampere zoom away, and almost laughed when he saw a few zombies shambling after it.

"Remove the head or destroy the brain. If you find a vampire, we might need to gather together again to take it out. If one finds you... shoot something bright skyward."

Lyra nodded, but she decided to stick close with Rukh. "S-sorry. I'm not so good fighting alone." she bowed apologetically.

A long, low, continuous groan filled the air and figures began shambling towards them out of the mist. "Looks like they found us. Everyone get ready."

Lyra quickly casted a protect spell over her and her party.

[Aredjay]

Kaitlyn nocked another silver-tipped arrow, imbuing it with a faint fire-based magic. She hadn't gotten very good at that yet, but every little bit helped.

Serac simply assumed a defensive stance, ready to swing at anything that came near.

[cielo]

"What's with you youngsters and that infernal racket...!" complained an old man, opening the door to his home, just a few metres away from the lead zombie.

The group, as a whole, turned their heads to gaze at him, moaned louder, and shambled towards him.

"Go," shouted Rukh, "There are still survivors!"

He dashed forward, sword drawn.

Lyra's first motion was to cast Curaga on the zombies nearest to the old man's home. "Sir, please retreat to a safer area! We'll do our best to hold them off!"

Rukh groaned as the Curaga hit, repairing the zombies and strengthening the parts that had started to rot. He didn't slow his pace, and hit the lead zombie with a flying stab to the head, got up, swung at another, and did his best to dislodge his sword from its skull.

Lyra gasped as she noticed the Curaga had actually mended the zombies, and remembered Rukh's advice. "I'm sorry...that's my fault." she said and instead decided to cast Holy on the zombie to disintegrate it so Rukh can remove his sword.

[Aredjay]

Kaitlyn's arrow went flying into the middle of the crowd in the form of a Sonic Boom; this would serve to clear the area quickly. Serac, meanwhile, assisted Rukh on the front lines, performing some deft kickboxing maneuvers on the piles of smelly flesh assailing the old man.

Rukh leapt away from the disintegrating zombie and trampled another that had gotten too close to the old man. "Do you know if there are any other survivors?"

"Eh? Whuzzat? Get off my lawn!"

The boy grimaced and turned to bash a shambler with the hilt of his sword. "Come on, old guy. We're going."

"Whuzzat? Speak up! I can't hear you over that incessant groanin'!"

Rukh grabbed the old man and began dragging him, for lack of a better option.

Lyra continued to disintegrate zombies that went near the house, and proceeded to check it if there was any living soul inside.
