Clan Midas War: Melmond

They arrived with open enough arms, for Odonel and Juris were well-enough liked in Melmond.

The leaders had no intention of gaining control of Corneria; it had crossed their minds, but overall it was decided against. It's just that, well, they needed the money that gaining control of Melmond would bring.

Of course, the now-free people of Melmond didn't know that, and viewed this War with mild suspicion.

Regardless, Midas was now here, in high-end rooms in the government buildings, all near each other, with both Inkjet and Golden in the well-guarded hangars.

Day 1

A helmeted Judge appeared in front of the two Clan Midas individuals.

"May I help you two?" he inquired casually.

[Sol the 1337th]

(The Shining Alliance disbanded. As far as I understand, its claim over turf is gone.)

Odonel and Juris, oddly enough, had been in the same room at that time, reviewing Clan Midas' atlas. "Hello, Sir Judge," said the latter.

"Odonel Lunais of Clan Midas, kupo. We're taking control of Melmond. Now, I don't see any enemies currently opposing, so if you don't mind my asking, why are you here, kupo?"

"The territories of Corneria are currently listed under the protection of the Civilization Act. As such, no clan wars are permitted within its borders," he explained apologetically. "The Senate of Corneria currently maintains governmental control over the area. Additionally, as far as I know, your clan was offered Protector status after the Alliance disbanded... at least, that's what she told me."

At this, the Judge tipped his visor open with an armored thumb, revealing familiar bronze eyes with an expression of knowledge within them.

Odonel grinned and rested his head on a small, fuzzy hand. "Ah, I see, kupo. Apologies, we had no idea."

He turned to Juris. "Tell everyone to repack and apologize for me, then load up Golden, kupo."

The shinobi left after a glance at the Judge, taking that now-folded atlas with him.

Odonel turned back to the Judge, still looking amused. "Is that who I figure that is behind that visor, kupo?"

"Thank you," the Judge called after them, closing his visor. "And remember... the throne is everywhere."

With that, he vanished in a flash of light.

Odonel snorted and shook his head. The ploy had worked, his theory proven correct. Now, it was off to what they really intended. He stood up, gathering his bag off of the bed, and made for the hangar.
