One of the unzombielike zombies found itself with a sword lodged in its skull, followed by a flying kick from an adolescent.

"I don't remember mindless shamblers being able to wield anything," Rukh told Kaitlyn. "Watch out."

Noting that several of the fighters are getting injured, Lyra carefully cured whoever was getting hurt.

[Aredjay]

Soon, the mass of zombies began to thin out as the Bishops' Guild assisted the others in fighting them. However, the few that remained were proving to be quite stubborn.

"It's like the Law of Conservation of Zombies or something," Rukh observed as he dragged a zombie's head attached to his sword through the mud. "The less zombies there are the more competent they get."

The last zombie fell. "...That or they just suck anyways. Anyone got bitten?"

A few bangaa said the affirmative. "Get as much holy water, antidote and curealls as you can," he ordered. "We need to purify you before you turn into zombies. It's going to hurt but if we act fast you'll survive. And no--"

He shoved a Bishop who had raised her staff. "Don't heal them until we're sure they won't turn, or you'll just make the venom spread quicker."

Lyra was glad the battle was over, and she quickly waited for everyone to get cured before healing them.

[Aredjay]

In the interest of saving time, Aredjay declared the items spread around. Kaitlyn was bandaging a holy water-laced wound on a random doorstep, while Serac simply froze the contaminants on her own person. Ampere, being a ball of lightning mana, did nothing.

And, soon enough, through a great deal of gritted teeth and groaning, the populace was restored.

"That was your 'get-out-of-jail-free' card," he said to the gathered bangaa. "Get bit again and there's nothing anyone can do; these are a different kind of zombie. If you get bit, your friends and loved ones will have to kill you before you turn. Now, uh, bye."

He wiped his sword on the shirt of a fallen zombie, sheathed it, and began walking away for the second time.

Lyra placed her fingers on her cheek and hummed for a moment. Noticing Rukh leaving, she reached out for him. "Oh-uhm, wait!" she called out. "Are...where are you going?" she asked him.

[Aredjay]

"We should be getting back to the shop..." said Kaitlyn to Serac. "Hopefully nothing got broken in the attack."

"Yeah. Let's check out the damage."

And with that, the Hunter and Spire Elementals trudged and/or floated towards Marblestone Spire.

Rukh shrugged. "I usually just wander around and find trouble. It's kind of weird, actually, it's like every second town has some sort of undead infestation. Like some higher power is making sure I keep busy."

A Narrator coughed and tugged at Rukh's thoughts. "Why? Do you want to come with me?"

"W-well..." Lyra looked away and blinked for a moment. She was truly wandering aimlessly, and her wallet was becoming thinner and thinner. At least this way, she could travel and keep helping others. "There has been a lot of news of undead lately, so...so can I?" she asked, hopefully. She looked to Rukh. "I...I want to help others, too..." her power was still a mystery, so she wanted to discover it. Maybe as she goes to help others, she might learn something new.

He shrugged. "Sure, why not? You seem competent enough. Besides, it gets boring walking by myself all over the place."

Lyra smiled. "O-oh, thank you!" she bowed, and walked alongside Rukh.
