Title: Solving a problem?
MacNiel - November 12, 2007 06:12 AM (GMT)
We should completely restart this forum from scratch. With a new everything. And lay down some actual structure. Right now all this is is a mess of sub forums with their own properties to them. This place should be more balanced. I hate to sound like a preacher but it's just an Idea. Because there can be special things for the members who are still around or left out of the stress. Like honestly within the last 3 months how many actual long time active members are there?

There are actually plenty of people who were active; I'm kinda one of them. I visit the forums and make my posts, just never advance any of my own stories.
Restarting the forum...might work. But note that we did do that once, it didn't work. Some people are attached to this one for some reason; even if they could just copy paste; but that's the problem. If we redo the whole thing, people'd lose all their clans' especially, progress.
Say a very memorable event for CC's character was reuniting a region under SA's command. Then made up another plot from there. If we restarted from scratch, there'd be a paradox, so...some people are reluctant to give up those certain advancements they made for their clan.

Yeah, considering RDJ has reset his postcount twice already...it should actually be more than Locke's.
Really, though, I don't think that Fantasia is not structured well. I think it is too structured.

This won't increase activity; in general, people are more willing to RP characters who already have a significant amount of backstory and connections to other things (such as the setting or other people), as opposed to starting from scratch (which didn't work in the past).
So, I'm against it.
Also, I think the structure is fine how it is. What we need to increase activity isn't a global reset; it's advertising, patience, and RPing (even if it's only small plots).

I pretty much agree with Chocky. We've all put years into this site. It won't die, or get reborn.

I think what she's saying is that all of the active people are leaving.
Though yeah... I have too much into this to start that over.

Me too. Although I'd love to just have the job sets from FFTA and FFTA2 when it arrives and with reasonable new jobs. Personally I feel that is why this site is dieing because it isn't what it is supposed to be. I swear that the only thing that is related to FFTA now is the the basic jobs and the races. And I don't know of anybody who actually uses a basic job for more than a day before jumping to an uber class job who can blow up a city with a snap of a finger.
Seriously, the strongest evil character has BASIC JOBS for god sakes.

Well, Daimon used to be a Dragoon before I switched his main job to Half-Wyrm a little while ago. And all of my characters in Clan Superhero use basic jobs, with only Alpha having a special one, but he still has a Paladin sub-job.

About half my characters have basic jobs. >_>
Also, Golbez has his own skillset, as well as an ability that triples all of his stats. I just haven't had a chance to properly use it, since he's now in captivity right outside his own tower.
