Title: [P-Open] Artistry at Work
Aredjay - July 25, 2007 02:03 PM (GMT)
Estreledge. One of Omastria's wonders, this city was full of life, not to mention water. People were going about their business, and everything seemed normal.
...Well, except for an eccentric young Nu Mou sitting a a bench. In one hand, he had an easel; in the other, a paintbrush. He was painting the landscape and people of Estreledge, watching his paintings come alive for a brief moment, and then vanish.

Another artist of a sort was sitting not too far away, working in a book. Every now and then, he would look at his watch. Everything would freeze, he'd look at everyone's face, and then back to the watch.
Everything would go back to normal, and nobody was any the wiser.

After painting pretty much everybody that came by, the Nu Mou turned to the other artist and began to paint him.

The writer noticed, in one of his pauses, that the other was paying attention to him. Before looking back at his watch, he got up, and walked over to the same bench.
He looked at the watch, and time resumed, giving the impression he'd teleported over.
"Hi."
Aredjay - July 25, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
The painter was startled.
"Aah! How'd you-- Why are you-- Who are you?"
Zaxton - July 25, 2007 04:19 PM (GMT)
"My name is Zachary J. Adam. I'm an author, strategist, and steampunk enthusiast."
Aredjay - July 25, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
"...Oh. The strategist bit would explain why you nearly killed me with that teleportation."
The Nu Mou got up from the bench, still a bit unnerved.
"I'm Leonardo da Loopy, an artist, Alchemist, and generally easygoing person."
Zaxton - July 25, 2007 04:43 PM (GMT)
"Pleased to meet you, sir."
Aredjay - July 25, 2007 11:22 PM (GMT)
"Likewise."
The unfinished painting of Zac fell off the canvas and began to dance.
Zaxton - July 25, 2007 11:24 PM (GMT)
Zac stared at it for a moment, and started to walk away.
Aredjay - July 25, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
The painting suddenly collapsed into a heap of paint and dissolved into the ground.
"...Hmm. Must be a very busy man."
Leonardo wandered off in a different direction, looking for more things to paint.

Not far from the artist were two people, a couple to be exact. One had a high pitched voice that didn't seem to stop, a female, that wouldn't stop yapping at her supposed boyfriend. They were a very young couple, and the boy simply walked, embarrassed at his girlfriend's actions as she kept going on and on, till all the onlookers and passer-bys stopped to look at them for a brief moment.
"Come on already! This is our second honeymoon, and you're embarrassing me already!" Said the boy at last, the young man shook his head and buried his face in his arms, clearly embarrassed.
"Oh, Soujiro, you know how much I really like milk! You really have to lighten up a bit. Don't be so stingy!"
"But that's the fifth glass you had today, and we have barely walked a mile!"
"But..." and so they went on and on.
Aredjay - July 26, 2007 01:41 PM (GMT)
This seemed to distract the artist from his search, and he watched them walk.
"...Interesting."
He pulled out his canvas again and began to paint Soujiro's expression.
DarkValkyr - July 26, 2007 03:29 PM (GMT)
"Look, I know Omastrian Milk is good, but do we HAVE to drink it now?" he sighed, and sulked even more as more people began to stare at them as if they were street performers.
"Soujiro! Come on, you promised that you'd get me to a place with the best milk there is in Fantasia!" the woman argued back.
Soujiro's face was by now a hopeless, sighing and weak face, unable to defend himself from his own wife. It's kind of a sad sight, but yet amusing. "Okay, fine. We'll go to the cafe at the cliffside. But that's the last glass of milk I'm buying you this whole month, got it?"
"No way!..." and thus they continued arguing. Some pedestrians wondered whether they should toss coins for them being very excellent performers...or just felt pity at Soujiro.

Leonardo followed, allowing the face that he had painted to fall off the canvas and float in place, repeating the last few sentences Soujiro had spoken. He then began to paint some more; this time a picture of both members of the couple.

The two had by now sat down nearby, both had calmed down.
"Okay...well now what? We did plan on going to the tower over there..." said Soujiro.
"Yeah, but its closed. Kind of odd. They say there are ghosts over there..." Rin sighed and kicked the floor. "Maybe we could go check it out?"
"Eh, why not...but maybe we can rest a little first. All that arguing took it out of me." Soujiro began taking out from a small knapsack and flask of Omastrian MooMoo Milk.
"HEY!" she suddenly jumped up and snatched the flask. "You had one all this time!?"
"Oh, um...well, I wanted it!"
"Well its mine now!"
"No way! That cost me!"
"This honeymoon is full of milk, you said. So here's more for me!"
"Ugh! Stop! Not again!"

Leonardo was enjoying this; the two DID look like street performers. He kept painting, as was his impulse to do almost every time he saw something.

After a further furious exchange of words, the two of them decided to go draw out their weapons, although so, they seemed to be having fun with the argument. The man drew out a knife and a katana and started to hack away at the Viera, who in turn used a rather large Fuuma Shuriken to parry the attacks. It wasn't long before she summoned a very large dragon which blew the man away, who came running back, two weapons in hand, dashing at magnificent speed at the woman, who in turn parried. Next came an icy meteor from the female, which cascaded all over him. Coming afterwards was a hail of blades of wind sent out by the ninjutsu-woman. The two kept a flashy display going for a long while.

The nu mou was getting flustered at this time, trying to keep up with the attacks.
"Slow down, I can't paint that quickly!"

OOC: Why is it I keep forgetting this topic? O.o;; Sorry RDJ x.x
The two had been tired out. They pretty much laid on the floor, panting. Unknown to them, coins started flying over and landed all around them, the air ringing with the sound of Gil colliding with the floor. Soujiro sat up slowly, with Rin saying a short "Huh?" and doing the same. Eventually, the two were dumbfounded. Their little parade had garnered the attention of many citizens, who had tossed gil at them for such a beautiful performance. They got up hurriedly, and flushed slightly.
They stared at all the coins around them, and eventually, albeit hesitant, began bowing as if they had meant to do that. They turned red, and Rin picked up the gil with her two flame orbs helping her. They bowed, and once people started leaving, they just stared at each other, dumbfounded. They eventually broke into a whisper.
"Hey...this is unexpected." Rin started.
"Hm, you think?" Soujiro grinned.
"Know what I'm thinking of?" she grinned back.
"Oh no, not--"
"MILK!"
"Augh!" all tired and flustered, Soujiro grabbed Rin and gave her a nice kiss. It was rather quick, for it was in public. Safely storing their gil in their bag, which was now almost filled to the brim, they began walking home.
Aredjay - August 13, 2007 01:16 PM (GMT)
Leonardo tried to paint the gil-throwing frenzy, but found he'd run out of canvas.
"...Oh well. Time to buy some more."
He trudged off in another direction, to buy some more supplies.
