Title: Clan U.D. War: Retrieving Icicle Cave!
Description: Garet...
Kingra - October 28, 2006 10:10 PM (GMT)
Day One
Memora walked down the grand path of ice, surveying the surroundings carefully. It was a beautiful morning outside and the sun was shining in utter brilliance. He wore a formal pitch-black tuxedo, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. As he walked each step echoed through the hollow silence. A black top hat sat flat on his head, his blue hair swirled to the left. To keep the sun out of his eyes he had been wearing sunglasses. His hands were neatly folded behind his back. Memora had just come back from a trip to Vana'Diel, but in lack of needed people they had called for him. The telechip had sent him directly to Icicle Cave.
"I guess they lost the turf, heh."

Two girls were walking through the caves. One was wearing red battlegear, the other one a blue robe. Both wore large hats with oversized brims that hid their faces. Black hair could be seen in two different hairstyles beneath their hats.
"I'd say it's time we stopped fighting and did something together for once, sister."
"I couldn't agree more, sister. How's here?"
"Sounds good to me, sister."
"Hey sister, do you remember that guy you used to be friends with?"
"Which one, sister?"
"Nevermind, sister."
"Okay, sister. I think I know which one you were talking about."
Only if sister is talking about that one guy, though. We worked so closely on that new magic. I wonder if it still works.

"You hear that, sister?" the blue robed girl inquired with a giggle.
"Funny, sister. Let's get going," she red clothed girl said shortly.
Nodding at each other, the two began preparing. Red took out a green bladed rapier, while Blue took a teddy bear out from within her robes and set it on the ground. After stepping back a few paces, she held her right hand out, causing a rune to glow yellow on the bear's stomach. Yellow strings made of mana went from her four fingers to the bear's four limbs.
"Sister, that's a weird technique," Red commented sarcastically.
"It works though, sister. Watch," Blue reassured her, flicking her wrist. The bear began to hover in the air a few feet in front of her.
Red pointed her rapier at Memora and smiled, then said, "This might hurt a bit."
The rapier flashed bright green for a moment, then stopped. Red knelt, then groaned, "Sister, that move makes me tired."
Blue shrugged. "Don't worry, sister, I'll help you." She then wiggled her fingers, releasing a burst of purple energy that flew at amazing speed towards Mesmerae.

Memora at first felt at ease as a simple fairy flew straight at him. He zipped across the field and laughed...only to be interupted. Memora was buffeted by rapier and chain, in a devastating combo that led him into critical condition. He dropped out of range from the attack at the last minute. He looked curiously at Blue.
"Blue clothing...black hair...oversized hat...aha! Shira told me 'bout you. You're that girl, Quinn! Nice to meet you."
He managed, even though tired, to let out another jolly laugh.
"On guard, Memora. If these people can tire you out that quickly, there must be something wrong," Mesmerae hollered to his ally. A line of holy energy connected with Memora. Memora suddenly felt a bit better.
"Right, right, thanks."
Memora's hand became engulfed in fire.
"This is for ruffling up my tux!"
Dancing into the air in his cleverly disquises shoes, he smashed the cold ground with his fist. The fire spread for thirty feet and turned the floor into hot water. A large crack in the earth appeared where his fist last touched it. Memora fell slightly until the water reached his knees. Suddenly, the ground began shaking. An earthquake shifted the ground as the calm water was disrupted by the shaking, and a large wave crashed against the rival foes.

Quinn sighed, saying, "Too true, sister. Well, it's not as if everyone doesn't know your name is Erika."
Erika rolled her eyes. "Well, sister, we have some more important issues to deal with, namely that huge wave coming towards us."
Quinn frowned. "He'll get wet, sister. He doesn't like getting wet. I have to waste energy getting away."
Reaching into her coat pocket, Quinn took out a cube of silvery material. By shifting her body weight back (and with help from Erika), she managed to pull the teddy back while simultaneously forming the cube into a shield. As the waves subsided, both sisters were nowhere to be seen.

"What was that!"
He threw off the broken glasses. His fist was already charged with electrical energy.
"Take this!"
His fist sank into the water slowly, and suddenly the electricity spread throughout the sunken battleground. It climbed the water, seeking out the foe. Mesmerae clapped his hands, and explosions of chemical ice followed the electricity. An explosion knocked Memora off his feet for a second, but he quickly regained balance.
"Watch it, Mesmerae."
"Sorry, my fault."
Another explosion hit the wall of ice above them, and it collapsed into the water. Sunlight seeped into the cave at the speed of light.

The two sisters were clearly not standing on the ground, as the lightning never stopped to strike them. However, as soon as the ice headed for them, they knew they would be found.
Mysteriously enough, they emerged from invisibility completely unharmed, each perched on a stalagmite with their toes. Both were smiling broadly.
"You know, sister, that's quite a weapon you've got there," Quinn remarked. The floating teddy was chilled, but mostly unharmed.
Erika nodded smugly, then replied, "Yeah, sister. Almost forgot I had it!" She was carrying what appeared to be a reflective racket in her left hand, leaving her right open for the rapier.
A bit of the sunlight reflected off of the mirror-like surface and onto Irasmus's wounds. Oddly enough, they began to patch themselves up.
Meanwhile, a conveniently accurate burst of 'chemical ice' exploded around Mesmerae.

Memora was swarmed into sudden darkness. It ate at him until he was submerged in water. And then, the sunlight gleamed over him and the darkness went away. Memora's hand bounced out of the water.
"Oh boy. Ya should've brought more people. A 2-to-1 ratio is pretty bad, eh?"
"I wish I could, but we're running short in that department."
Memora let out a high-pitch whistle that went down three octaves like two grace notes with a glissando. Balmung appeared in a burst of light into Memora's left hand. It fell heavily into his hand, but Memora's muscles didn't seem as strained as usual.
"Anyways, I've finally learned how to hold this thing in one hand. Don't need to carry it 'round anymore either."
"Impressive."
"Whoa...watch out!"
Too late. Mesmerae took an arrow in the shoulder with frostbite included.
"You okay, man?"
"Yeah." Mesmerae grabbed the arrow and pulled it out from his shoulder. "So let me return." Mesmerae drew his trusty blade, Coruscate. The edge of the sword was curved greatly to the side. "Get ready for Copter Blade!"
His sword twirled in his arm like a propeller, slowly getting faster and faster. The water began to raise, and soon another wave was sent toward the foe.

Both sisters leapt backwards, letting the wave carry them to another set of stalagmites. Quinn wasn't even wet, but Erika had taken a bit of a bruising from the wall of water. The poor teddy looked like it needed quite a bit of drying.
Once more, Quinn clasped her hands together. From above Memora, an immaterial snake made entirely of light emerged, its fangs threatening to imbed themselves in his body. In a seemingly related event, the teddy was glowing brightly.
Erika, knowing the time for talk was over, faced Mesmerae carefully. Appraising her foe carefully, she decided the best course of action was a test. Her palm then began to glow yellow, and as it plunged to the ground, a golem made of stone emerged in front of her. Said golem charged recklessly towards Mesmerae.

Mesmerae released the Everfog for the first time. In the foggy battlefield, quick and agile, he hopped over the large golem at racing speed, landing at the side of her eyes. His elbow recieved a slight cut as Dark Aura rushed by him, while the swarm of fairies were completely out of range. Memora landed on Erika's other side shortly after, his reactions not fast enough even with Sleipnir to dodge incoming attacks. Mesmerae sliced at Erika once, twice, and a third time in quick succession, his blade shredding the wind at high speed. Memora held his sword up. The bright blue static of Balmung was visible even through the thick fog. It came crashing down with full heavenly power and blessed Erika with execution. The spirit of the goddess Mateus in Memora's heart grew brilliantly as his sword cut with the power of the Totema.

"Focus...focus..."
He found his right hand could move just barely, and reached into his cloak for a juicy, green leaf. He tossed it into the air and caught it in his mouth. "Ah," he thought, "these always work." He tilted his eyes down at the Coruscate. It began to rattle on the wet ground. The water from the ice was slowly sinking into the ground.
Memora jumped away from the golem's attack. He was suddenly engulfed in a small prism of water a second later. From inside, large black feathered wings began to spawn from thin air, breaking the water's grab on Memora. They held him within, where it was safe. Quinn stared into the wings, carefully considering her options. Erika was also considering what she could do, as they both knew that those wings could cause some serious problems. Gazing at each other, they wordlessly formed a strategy and went to work.
Erika threw her hat and jewelry off to the side, then clapped her hands together, focusing herself. Somewhere within her, red energy began to radiate outwards, causing her body to emnate red light. Her eyes, now glowing bright red, appraised the wings carefully.
I only have a couple minutes like this. I have to choose my moves carefully.
Quinn too had thrown off her hat and accessories, and was now charging a massive amount of purple energy between her hands, which were held behind her, slightly off to the left. The sheer amount of energy radiating off of the forming sphere was enough to melt any of the nearby ice.

The Coruscate swiped away the ropes that entangled Mesmerae. In an instant he pressed his hands toward the foes.
"...Dazzleflash!"
A radiant of colors began flashing around him. Purple, green, red, yellow, orange, blue, grey, pink, brown, black, and all the colors inbetween. All in a second's worth of time. The sheer power of the flash broke through the ever-flowing fog, crashing with incredible force into the opposing force. But, for some reason, it didn't reach far enough to grasp Irasmus into it's deadly hand. From behind, Memora showed no response as the feathered wings held him tight in safety. When the colors faded away and the fog gathered once again, the wings opened and dropped. On Memora's left shoulder, a beautiful white wing spread itself in awakening. On his right, a dark, black one that depicted the large fallen wings that lay on the ground near him.

The arrow seemed to turn into silver, and it was at that moment he loosed it. With a double-rebound, it hit the ceiling, a wall, and then came in sideways at Memora.

Erika and Quinn both grinned widely.
"Winning Strategy, Take One!"
The clone smirked as it released the Heartless Angel ability, throwing its halo at Memora's and causing both to break. The light blinded it a second later.
Erika's glowing red eyes bashed aside the flashing light with their own red light. She disappeared a second later, then reappeared beside the stone golem that seemed to be moving around in a blind circle. She moved her glowing palm to the huge beast's side, causing it to glow green for a brief moment. Then, in the blink of an eye, the individual rocks that made up the golem's body were surrounding Mesmerae, slowly sinking but still strong. Erika's other hand was raised into the air, and a figurative boulder of psychic energy dropped directly towards his head. Just after this, her muscles clenched very uncomfortably.
Not long left... wounds are starting to open under my gear, I can feel them...
Meanwhile, Quinn's teddy bear, since it had no real 'eyes', was unaffected. Quinn had previously closed one eye to the blinding light of the purple sphere, but since the other eye was now blind, she had switched eyes. Watching in satisfaction as the clone's attack went through, she closed her eyes and imagined a kite behind her. Then, removing one hand from the sphere (she was now holding it very unsteadily in one hand), she reattached her magic strings to the teddy bear and made a very specific motion with her fingers.
Without a second's wait, the teddy's stomach glowed bright purple, and the spell began. Invisible radiation flowed out from the teddy, circled the area once or twice, then penetrated directly through any sort of defense, material or magical, to strike at the internal organs of Memora.
After casting the spell, Quinn moved her hand back to the massive sphere of energy she held between her hands. Her focus remained unshattered, and her goal was clear in sight.
"I call upon the powers of the daughter of Ultima! Lend me your strength... Prima!"
The attack was over in an instant. If you had blinked as the word 'Prima' passed her lips, you would have missed it. For those who had kept their eyes open, however... they were the ones to see it. A magnificent flash of purple light as the pulsing sphere of energy opened up into a huge beam of energy, racing at supersonic speed towards Mesmerae.
Quinn was kneeling on the icy ground, looking around. Her vision was badly blurred, but she was conscious. Shakily, she questioned, "Is... is it over?"
I sure hope it's over... I'm so drained... he never told me how hard that attack was to use...

The massive attack sequence caused explosions all around Memora and Mesmerae. The fog was blown away by the destructive power of their attacks, and instead smoke and dust scattered. A heavenly fire began on that spot. A minute of abnormal silence, and nothing happened. Then, the smoke and dust cleared, and the image of Mesmerae standing brewed amazement across the broken arena. A large transparent shield of mythosgeria coming from the Coruscate was surrounding both Memora and Mesmerae. In an instant it burned into nothing. Mesmerae looked very weary, but he picked up his blade and held it in position. The fog once again covered the area.
Memora leaped in front of Mesmerae, his face still and calm. His sword, Balmung, was releasing an incredible amount of static-like energy. He raised it in one arm, pointing at the party of opponents. A small, sudden shock wave discharged from Balmung, then another, then four more. The ground began vibrating. Instantly he was a nigh next to Quinn; then his blade exploded in a surge of energy that burst at Quinn's chest. In quick succession he flew above her at lightspeed and his blade met with the ground. The poor teddy was ripped to pieces by surges of lightning, except for a small triangular prism that floated around for a moment before shattering. Black energy raced around for a couple seconds before vanishing mysteriously.
Quinn had gotten onto her feet and was moving back to safety when she was struck with some electrical energy. Yelling out in pain, she barely mustered up enough energy to get back behind a stalagmite.
I'm so drained... moving is getting difficult. Sister and I have to get away.
Erika moved back, cringing due to the pain of wounds opening all over her body. She quickly planted both of her hands on the ground, and attempted to summon two stone golems. However, her mind was so distracted that the two golems came out as a heap of rock on either side of her.
