We already teach bo, Sai, Tuifa and Nunchaku. I have been working with Amazon Arrows for the last year and have developed a kata. Should this be added to the school curriculum after the Isshinryu kata have been learned?

Shihan, I think adding that kata will only make us in whole a more rounded Martial Artist. Just because it doesn't belong to our style, doesn't mean it can't be learned. This is how I think a Martial Artist of any style grows. Nice message board you have here also.

Thanks Dan - I've been working on it for a long time. I look forward to meeting you in April in PA. How far are you from Carlisle?

I have removed my canes from storage. The more I age (which I continue to do) the more I find my interest in this weapon grows. I am going to spend quite a bit of time this year working with it.

I have put together what I consider to be the basics. (i,e, upper body, lower body charts)

I have been working on a Kata for the cane for several years now. I will try to finish it this year.

Anyone else with an interest in the cane?

Shihan, I live about 2 1/2 to 3 hours away from Carlisle. I have just about my whole school going to attend. Some just want to watch and some want to join in the fun. I do have some questions though. I will give you call. Thanks for the invite and the chance to finally meet each other before May 29. Talk to you later.

I'm sorry I missed your call last night but I was finishing a project. I'm Glad you are attending. If you go to the AIKA site and go to the regions page you will find the phone number to Hanshi William Washington. Call him for hotel info and the address to the tournament and seminar.

I agree with Dan's comments!
It shouldn't nessacarily be forced upon others, but it should be there for someone to learn!

Would it be possible for you to post a picture of these weapons?

Shihan, the Amazon Arrows look really cool. I would really like to see the kata you made up for it.

What in the world made you pick this weapon? Where did you even see this weapon? I have never seen anything like it.

Chopper

I know a lot about the three section staff since it was part of the weapons system taught in my first martial arts system. PM me and we can talk
