I did get them, but as far as I remember (played 10 ages ago) it was pretty big for a side quest and really annoying, I remember having to swim through some weird thing, and then the weapons didn't turn out to be very special at all.

yunas rod is really the only interesting one.. the chocobo dodging game for tidus' sword is annoying -_-
