Gold Saucer
The only way to reach Gold Saucer is by Gondola Ride known as the Ropeway. The Gold Saucer is an odd mix between amusement park, casino, and show theater. This park has rides, gambling dense, and one of the most high tech stages in the world, suited for anything from theatrical production to full orchestra performances. The Gold Saucer also has Gaia's most advanced chocobo race tracks, and only the best birds of the best are allowed to race in its arena. And for anybody wishing to spend the night at the Gold Saucer, even their accommodations are given a taste of the exotic, albeit of the spooky horror movie sort. The desert prison at the base of Gold Saucer is currently 'out of operation'.

Cosmo Canyon
Cosmo Canyon is a pilgrimage site for those who wish to pursue the study of Planet life. The terrorist group "AVALANCHE" was founded in Cosmo Canyon, and Barret, the leader, promised his companions that when Shin-Ra was destroyed he would take them there. For years, Cosmo Canyon was protected by the a tribe of warriors. Nanaki (Red XIII) is the current guardian. Cosmo Canyon was once at war with the Gi Tribe but they were defeated by Nanaki's father Seto. Seto fought against the Gi Tribe, and sacrificed himself, and was turned to stone. Seto continues to watch over Cosmo Canyon as a stone statue. Notable features in Cosmo Canyon include an observatory created by Bugenhagen, the Cosmo Candle, the guardian fire which always burns, and the Shildra Inn, where they serve a popular drink named after the Cosmo Candle.

Nibelheim
Nibelheim is a small mountain village close to Cosmo Canyon. It is the hometown of both Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart. The village was burnt to the ground by Sephiroth, killing most of its inhabitants. Later however, the Shin-Ra corporation rebuilt the town and populated it with its own employees - covering up the incident. Most of the Shin-Ra's Sephiroth clones, waiting for the Reunion, can be found all around the town. There is an inactive Mako Reactor located on nearby Mt. Nibel.

Rocket Town
Rocket Town was once bustling with scientists, because the first rocket launch to outer space was to take place here, on the rocket Shin-Ra No. 26. However, the program was canceled and the remains of the project, including the rocket, left to rot in the town. The rocket was destroyed during the Sephiroth War. Currently the town serves as a headquarters for the WRO's airship fleet as well as the hub and center of a new space program.

Wutai
Wutai is a country occupying a large island off the western-most continent, although the name is primarily used to refer to the only known settlement on the island. Yuffie Kisaragi is the princess of Wutai. Yuffie's father, Godo, led the city in a struggle for dominance against Shin-Ra but lost, and materia was banned in Wutai as a result. Wutai, like Junon, has prospered under the absence of Shinra and the destruction of Midgar and has become a major tourist site as well as economic center in recent times.

North Corel
Originally a shanty town that was built by the survivors of the original Corel. The town has prospered since the fall of Midgar and the abandonment of Mako as an energy source. Since the town sits almost directly above a giant reserve of coal it has become important and rich from mining this resource for energy production.

Gongaga

Gongaga Village is a town on the Western Continent. Shin-Ra built a Mako Reactor near the town, which exploded and killed most of the townsfolk after an attack by the original AVALANCHE. After this tragedy Gongaga was left relatively alone and undisturbed, even by the events of the Sephiroth war, thus walking into the the town is like walking into a time capsule as things have changed little in the town since that time.
