Ein's Challenge, You or me?

You know me, I can never seem to get a comic anywhere. Farthest I've gone was 30 pages on TBES and those took my high school years to get that far, HAHAHAHAHA!!! Remember those days Jeff, Davis?


I realized I'm missing one key thought of focus in my work: "PH34R"


Here's my challenge: in 6 months (end of February) I have to complete this 13 page script I wrote into full comic pages. If I do not, you guys get to force me to do ONE thing. It can be anything; I WILL DO IT. Keep in mind that it has to be something not impossible, like say "going to Hawaii". I'm poor remember? ...Mann, 6 months is short you know! If you were Jeff, Davis, Mike or Dom, you'd realize how suicidal 6 freaking months is for me. A testament to my laziness! The script will probably take me about 55 comic pages or more. It's fair game. If I win... well, I get a finished PV comic for the next con, lol.

I'll let you, Evil O.S. Members, Watchers and Gods (yes Sacha and Greg are allowed too), decide as a collective my sentence... as I am doomed to failure OTL. Just remember these few guidelines!

1. Nothing impossible for Ein to do; financially, realistically, etc. etc.
2. The sentence (if it does) must not involve a specific person. (ex: Force Ein to date x or y person- as opposed to -Force Ein to find a girlfriend. (Cat I'm looking at you! I saw that last post!))
3. The sentence must be something Ein can commit right away and not a year (or more) later.
4. Just ONE sentence.


"Hmm, what can we force Ein to do? HMMM!" I can already hear the loud HMMMs ~_~... I pray it will be nothing sinister!

Yes, I remember Ein, those were memorable 30 pages, since you almost beat me in page upload. (even though I did about a gajillion pages unseen by the internet, which is all the same story, with none ever finished, yeah.. those were the times indeed Ein.)

Now, let's all be specific here, I am damn serious as well on this challenge, and god damnit we must see results!

Let's see some specifics:

Time: 6 months? end of february? So starting from September 1, 2009 to February 28, 2010...

This is quite too long considering you have already got ahead on character and story layouts (even finished a world map.) But this is ok as long as my other demands are met.

content: 55 pages or more? No way, Evil OS demands exact page count! Also, I personally would like to see this comic completed within the 6 month time period. COMPLETED. Edited. Finalized. Cover Page. Printed. Complete. Yesh.

Ein: 6 months is fine, you know how slow I am anyway ~_~. Remember I'm not doing those super detailed scripts anymore, this is coming out of my brain as we speak. =_^ And yes FINALIZED into manga format, I intended to... tho printing can wait. Con's far out from February, besides that's IF we're even going TO Otakuthon next year. I don't want anything printed if I ain't gonna do any selling. I'll probably go with a publisher instead if we dn't go to Otakuthon, BIG ifs tho.

Punishment: McDonald's. Yes. Although, I'm a bit lenient than Ikari's request: It's fine if you don't want to work for McDonald's, however, you must find a job. You must show proof of you looking for a job, printing out resumes and handing to workplaces. We must see progress and get results within a two month period of you acquiring a job.

And thus, McDonald's is the easiest option to get to.

Ein: lol, you mean handing out resumes to a ton of McDonalds then... Well I can get one Mcdo job already, I just have to ask one manager friend of ours. Just that it's the busiest Mcdo here, so I'm opting for elsewhere.

Fine fine, well if you win, we better see a .PDF format of the entire manga book then. Atleast a cover page is necessary with it.

If you lose, I'm bringing you to Mcdonald's westmount. It's on vendome street, they only get busy in the morning and afternoon. So if you want a relax shift, there's evening for ya.

Just to add on to what Jeff said, you can also save enough money for a table at the next con, whichever it may be. Or, maybe even upgrade that ancient pile of circuits you call a computer! lol

You know, even with the manga done, you still need a job to help pay for the printing and possible publishing. Where else are you going to get the money?

Alex and I have experienced once with printing a small "comic book" of about 50-60 pages and it cost quite a fortune for only 6 copies. And the quality wasn't even that great. I don't know if it was because we went to the wrong printing store with jacked-up prices or something but yeah, be prepared to pay a huge sum.

SO I VOTE JOB AT MCD'S.

You updated from a video card based on outdated technology to ANOTHER video card based on outdated technology; that's a totally lateral move. At this point, you're best bet is to start saving up for a whole new comp. Orz

Ein: Oh it works fine! All I need is a new motherboard that has AGP and SATA to get rid of this dumb SATA transfer card... I'm VERY VERY sure it's the cause of all the slow downs.

Ein: Ah actually, scratch the table. I decided to submit a pilot to a manga publisher like Tokyopop or something. I'm already asking them if they accept submissions from Canada.

You are aware that it's been at least 3 years since anyone made a motherboard with AGP on it? OTL

Ein: Yes I know, Raynald told me "GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!" It's ok, the pile of circuits still does its job. Not like I need a super computer to make 10 x 14.875 inch pages anyway, lol.

Ein: ...Mind you too that the card isn't making that REALLY annoying screeching sound anymore (which is the result of the fan dying). OMG, I swear sometimes (in the middle of the night) it sounded like a war amputee crying in pain, begging me to end its life! So yeah, NOTHING YOU SAY MIKE WILL KILL MY HAPPINESS! still you need to present a 60 page manga, all completed, with a cover art page, in .pdf or any format that we can read off on (webcomic, or such...) at the exact day of febraury 28th, 2010.

To all Evil OS members, please note your calendars that, yes, it will be a sunday.

In Ein's basic challenge, we must have this said completed manga by that day or else you are enforced to come with ME to mcdonald's westmount and apply. (yes, that is the mcdonalds with an easy work shift.)

Now, since this is America (the continent, not the country), we are entitled to democracy and power of the people. And since we have 3 votes approving this declaration, we now add an additional rule to the challenge:

If you win, I will personally bring you to the said mcdonald's and show you around. You have two-three months to find a job and report to Evil OS, either getting a job at mcdonalds, or finding another job with weekly part-time or full-time hours. Your choice. No contract "working only a week or a month" works.

If you lose, you are obliged to go, apply, and get hired to a mcdonald's of our choice. Although, I personally prefer that said mcdonalds, but I'm not sure on this one, since some other people were saying something about crossdressing.....

But so far, we have the mcdonald's ending punishment / reward.

Like I said before, in either way, it's Win-Win.

Ein: One problem, if Tokyopop (or any other manga publisher) accepts my pilot submission (IF they allow Canadians; I'm still confirming, they haven't replied yet), they'll pretty much monopolize my life, lol. I'm pretty sure they'll give me this crazy deadline or something... yeah OTL. Then the other job will have to wait, till I screw-up or something and they fire me, lol. Then yeah, I'll look for a Second Cup or something. Big "IF", tho. The chances of me getting in are low, but still I'm excited! >=D
