Alice's Barbie, ATTEN: Bella

[Alice Cullen]

Alice pulled up behind Bella's old beat up truck and put her yellow Porsche in park. She couldn't help it but her excitement was getting to her. She already saw what Bella was going to do when she answered the door seeing Alice holding a duffle bag and she really didn't care. One way or another Alice was going to play Barbie with Bella today. Alice looked over to the duffle bag and smiled it was full of dresses, shirts, make-up, hair products, and jewelry. Alice was determined to do a makeover on Bella today, and if she wouldn't come over to her house then she would come to her. Alice got out of the car and walked over to the passenger side and grabbed the huge duffle bag that made her look funny walking with it because of her small size.

Alice reached the door and dropped the bag at her feet making a loud thud. She reached up and knocked on the door, "Bella its Alice." She said waiting excitedly for Bella to come to the door.

Bella was in the living room waiting for Charlie to come home from his fishing trip, though he would be a few more hours. She looked up from her book, Wuthering Heights, when there was a loud thud outside her door. She brought the book up to her chest and her eyebrows pulled together in confusion.

There was a knock. At first she thought Edward had come home from his hunting trip early. But Alice's soprano voice broke that hope.

"Bella, it's Alice," she heard her pixie friend say through the door.

Oh no, she thought, her intuition helping her dissect the situation. A few minutes before Alice had called asking her to come over so she could give Bella another makeover. Bella had rejected the proposition immediately. Alice must have came to torture her...The images of lipstick tubes and hairspray bottles filled her mind. Those were Alice's weapons of choice.

She got up off the couch and walked to the door. Trying to keep quiet. She didn't think Alice would hear her if she didn't breath. She pressed one hand to the door and willed Alice to leave with her mind.

It didn't work.

"Umm, Bella's not here. I'm....Mary the, er....maid." Bella said raising her voice three octaves imitating a Spanish accent.

She didn't put to much in the hope that Alice would believe her.

Alice laughed at Bella's attempt to pretend that she was their maid. She knew that Bella hated being made over and never really thought about why she was so persistent in forcing Bella into doing it. She laughed again when thinking about Jasper telling her to be nice and easy with Bella that she was only human. He then kissed her on the forehead telling her he loved her and then running away fast to catch up with his brothers. Alice was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Bella on the other side of the door.

"Silly Bella, even if I was dumb enough to believe that you were a Spanish maid, I must remind I can see the future and knew you would do this." Alice giggled and waited patiently for her to open the door.

Damn, Bella thought sourly, I forgot about her stupid visions.

"Alice I don't want a makeover," she said with no hope in her voice. She new Alice had already won. She tried to bring herself to the thought of not recognizing herself for the fifth time this week.

She was about to leave when she remembered that Alice had the strength to break down her front door, and Charlie would need a feasible explanation for the lack of door.

She thought she heard a weak plea from the other side of the door, in the feeble tone Alice used to get her way.

"Oh, fine," Bella said, opening the door.

When Alice heard the lock click she couldn't help but squeel with excitement. When she saw the look on Bella's face she laughed out loud. She didn't mean to but the girl had a look of horror on her face.

"Bella I'm not going hurt you. You look like I am going to murder you." Alice said as she picked up the bag and carried it with ease into the house.

Alice just walked up the stairs and into Bella's room without any instructions from Bella. She tossed the bag on the bed and unzipped it. She started pulling all the things and laying them on the bed in a orderly fashion. She looked up to see that Bella still hadn't come up.
She was getting impatient, because when it came to fashion she did not waste any time.

"Bella if you don't get up here now I will carry you up here myself. It will be fun. I can see it," she yelled down the stairs.

When Bella opened the door to let Alice in, the little pixie had a grin the size of Texas on her face. After saying something about her expression, Alice went up to Bella's room.

Bella stayed at the foot of the stairs, wondering if Alice would notice her absence.
Maybe if she is involved enough with her display of products, she won't need a dummy... Bella thought to herself. She heard Alice call to her and threaten to use force to get her up there. Bella sighed and climbed the stairs to her room. When she reached her room, she stayed in the door way, taking in the layout of Alice's stuff.

It was worse than Bella had ever imagined.

Bella walked into the space and sat on her bed.

"Whatever, Alice. Have your fun, let's just get this over with."

Alice just looked at Bella and shook her head.

"Bella you are going to enjoy this, because I promised Edward that you would have a fun time. Please don't make me break another promise to him." Alice said referring to the time Bella escaped from Alice to La Push.

She walked over to Bella's deckchair and motioned for Bella to sit in it.

"Bella I promise to be nice and try to not over do it. Edward wants to take you out tonight after they are done hunting and I want to make you look nice for him." Alice said trying to sound calm.

Bella sat in the chair Alice had motioned her to. When the pixie said that Edward wanted to take her out tonight Bella was confused.

Where is he going to take me? she thought to herself. I hope it's not to much. Knowing him he would want to buy her a jet and fly to Paris. That she would not be too happy about.

Alice picked up a set of a thousand makeup brushes, and three or four little jars. Bella was didn't know why Alice wanted to waste all this stuff on her.

"Alice, do you know where it is he wants to take me?" Bella said closing her eyes so the makeover wouldn't be quite so scary.

Alice was about to start applying cover up when Bella asked the one question that she couldn't answer. She stopped the brush short from touching her forehead.

"Bella I promised I wouldn't say anything. He wants it to be a surprise." Alice said feeling bad about keeping the secret from Bella, even if only a little one.

She touched the brush to Bella's forehead and begins to apply the foundation to Bella's smooth face. When she was done she applied a little blush to her cheeks and following that she added some brown eyeliner to her eyes. Alice decided that she would let Bella have some input in what was being done to her. She picked out two eye shadow sets that she liked one was a set of purples that would look great with her eyes. The other was a gold and yellow set that would look good with most of the clothes that she had brought over.

She held out each in the palms of her hands, "Bella which one would you like me to use?" She asked.

Bella understood that Edward would have told her not to say where they were going. Alice was always good to her word. Bella thought that was a good, rare trait to have. She would just have to drown in her own curiosity.

Bella was touched when Alice asked for her input, because it was not something she did often. But Bella knew she had no idea which one to choose. Alice probably should have known better than to ask for Bella's opinion.

The only thing Bella could do was guess which one the little pixie designer wanted her to pick.

"Umm....the purple?"

Alice tossed the yellow one back into the bag and opened the purple set, "Purple it is then. It will look good with your eyes.” Alice said as she applied the darker shade to the lid of her eye. Next she applied the lighter shade under her eyebrow and last she put the medium shade to the crease. She stood back and looked at her work and was pleased. Alice finished her make up with a touch of mascara on the tip of Bella's eyelashes to give them some lift.

She went over to the bag and grabbed her curling iron, plugging it in she sat it down on one of Bella's book carefully not to burn it. Alice looked at Bella who looked bored.

"Bella how about before we do your hair we figure out what you are going to wear. Lets first start trying stuff on." Alice turned to the bed full of clothes and pulled out a yellow dress that had flowing sleeves that tapered off at the elbows. The dress went down to above the knees and had a high waistline. It was low cut but a white cami would go great underneath it to match the white flowers that where on the upper part of the dress. Alice smiled and thought the dress was perfect.

Alice turned holding the dress up for Bella to see, "Bella I would like you to try this on. I think it would be perfect for what Edward has planned." Alice said very happy with her decision.

Bella eyed the pretty yellow dress Alice was holding up to her. It looked flowie, and like it would be as comfortable as anything Alice would want her to wear could be. Alice said it would be perfect for what Edward had planned, and Bella didn't want to go anywhere overdressed, or underdressed. So she accepted and thanked the lord that this makeover had been so easy thus far.

"Sure, Alice. It looks pretty." Bella said with an easy going smile on her face.

"Is where ever Edward is taking me somewhere Iwould like?" She said in a dreamy voice. She had had a constant nagging in the back of her head since Alice had mentioned an outing with him. She hoped she would at least give her a few hints to their destination.

Alice knew Bella was anxious about what Edward had planned for her and she had promised him that she wouldn't say anything about it. "Bella I promised, but I will tell you that you are going to love it." She turned to look at Bella's reflection in the mirror.

"Bella don't you know that I want to tell you. It’s so hard for me to see every detail of your night with Edward and I am so excited. I don't want to ruin it for you." She plopped on the bed but not to hard because she would break it.

She looked to her left then to her right for the shoes that would go with the dress. Then she spotted the brown heels and held them up. "These are the shoes that go with the dress and don’t worry I only see you fall once, but Edward catches you." She smiled to Bella "Hey I just told you something about your night with Edward." Alice laughed.

Bella sighed. Heels. Of course Alice would want her to wear heels. But at least if she had to wear them Edward would have to catch her at of undetermined moment during their evening.

Alice had told her something about her night with Edward, but not the kind of thing she wanted to hear. Of course it was a thrill that she was only going to almost fall on her face once, and her Edward would be the one to catch her....like always.

"Alice that's not exactly what i meant, but thank you for telling me. It sure takes alot of stress off me. I always have to pay more attention to my walking that everything else around me."

Even knowing she wouldn't fall, Bella was reluctant to put the dangerous looking shoes on her clumsy feet. But she trusted Alice to be right and her love not to let her fall. So she took the first brown shoe from Alice and tried to put it on.

She failed miserably.

It didn't look like Bella thought it was supposed to. Alice giggled. Bella looked up, asking for help with the look in her eyes. Not wanting to say her incapability aloud.

Alice just looked at Bella,” Yes Bella I know that’s not the information you wanted from your date but it’s the best I can give you."

Alice giggled at Bella trying to put the heels on. "Wow that was funny." She said as she got off the bed and motioned for Bella to sit where she just was. "Sit" She commanded.

She pulled the shoes out of Bella's hand as she waited for the girl to take a seat.
