Bella did not necessarily like it when her clumsiness got her laughed at. But if she didn't want to get laughed at, she shouldn't be so clumsy.
Her eyebrows pulled together when Alice mentioned a French manicure. Bella had stubby fingernails, because she was in a habit of biting them down to the pink. She knew Alice wouldn't have much to work with in the normal manicure department, probably why she wanted Bella to have fake nails. Bella tried to figure out what she would do when she was nervous if she couldn't bite her nails, and she couldn't think of many alternatives. She would have said no, and drawn the line at her nails for fear that she would poke out her eye, but Alice actually had the nerve to give Bella the pout.
No one with a heart could resist that pout. Bella had been won over by that face to many times to count. She really didn't want to, but that sad puppy face, made Bella feel awful if she refused her. She loved Alice and liked to make her happy if she could. Bella had never had a really close friend outside of Renee, or a sister. And that made Alice all the precious to her.
"All right, Alice, have your fun. But if i poke my eye out, it's your fault."

Bella waited in her room for Edward to get there. She figured that he would either come in through her bedroom window or just come in. While Bella waited she admired Alice's handiwork. She really had made Bella look nice. She barley recognized her reflection in the mirror, but took comfort in the fact that it was not as different as Alice had made her look in past makeovers.
There was no sound to announce his arrival, so Bella jumped slightly when Edward's arms wove around her waist. She felt his face press into the crook of her neck, and she leaned back into his marble body. Her eyes closed and she brought her arms up to his, to hold them together.
"You look stunning, love. Are you ready to go?" he breathed tenderly into her hair. Bella did not want to move from where they were for a thousand years. She was so content in his arms, with all the worry of her change and all the tension that had been on them, it felt wonderful to have a moment where it all just melted away.
Bella turned her head to the side, towards where his face was buried in her neck, in attempt to kiss him, when if failed she sighed.
"I'm ready. So where are we going exactly?" She knew that he could hear the easy smile in her voice. Bella grasped his wrists again, to stop him from trying to move just yet.

Edward smiled before looking at the two of them in the mirror she had been standing in front of. They seemed so totally different from one another as he looked into his own eyes. The golden hues stared back at him and he felt repulsed again. It was also the position they were in. His lips were so close to the smooth curve of her neck and just seeing this in the mirror made him think of the way humans saw his kind in things like films and books. This truly looked like a horror film as the monster lets his teeth sink into the beautiful girls neck.
He sighed and shook his head, breaking his gaze from the mirror to meet her warm brown eyes. He held her tighter to his body as she leaned into him, her soft hands resting on his cold fingers laced around her waist. What he would give to be warm for her. So he could hold her without her shivering.
He put on a smile for her before leaning in and kissing her neck lightly, her scent assaulting his senses. "I'm ready," she told him. "So where exactly are we going?"
Edward chuckled into her soft skin before looking into her curious, doe eyes. "Now if I told you that," he started with a smirk and playful look in his eyes. "There would be no surprise, would there?"
He could already see her wanting to argue about that. He knew that she hated surprises and presents but she had to trust him on it. "I don't want any arguing," he said before letting go of her and spinning her around to face him. "You'll just have to wait." Taking her hands gently in his he stared into her eyes. "You trust me, don't you?"

There are only four questions of value in life. What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same: only love.

He swore that his dead heart started beating again when she said those words to him. Not only did she trust him but she had said she loved him. Everytime she told him that he felt as if he was alive again and the blood was running through his veins. It was a rare feeling that only she could make him feel and he cherished every moment of it.
Edward smiled down at her, lifting his hand to brush a piece of hair that had fallen into her face away. He tucked it gently behind her ear before leaning forward and brush his lips against her forehead. Her scent overwhelmed him and the warmth of her skin felt amazing against his cold lips. So fragile, he thought with a sigh as he moved back to see her face.
"You don't know how those simple words make me feel, love," he murmured with a smile. Pressing his forehead against hers he looked straight into her eyes when he said the words he loved to say to her. "I love you, Bella. I always have and I always will."
He quickly touched his lips lightly to hers once more before taking her hand. "Come on," he said with a chuckle. "I don't want to waste anymore time for your surprise." He laughed at her expression and led her out of the room, down the stairs and out to the car. Opening the door for her, he waited until she was seated before closing it and getting into the drivers side, a smile still on his face.
