ll A Disruption of Peace ll

Years have passed since the countless wars that swarmed the lands of Enixmae and peace has reigned supreme. Recently, Enixmae has been discovered by an archaeologist of the Earthen realm, and with it has introduced those from the outside world in.

Although it seems like a perfect time for new alliances, a seething menace seems to be brooding towards the surface from the deep craters within the bowels of Gomax, giving way to a sundering evil; The Cursed.

With the House of Enix and Tower of Maythea in certain danger, it may take some of the most unlikely of heroes to once again come to the rescue of this hidden world. Some of which whom take pride of waving the Jolly Roger at their brow...

Where will your journey begin...

Lura could not believe this. Could not believe that one of Cruz's own was within her very dungeon, and she had not found out. Not until two days after his capture and imprisonment. She had no idea who this Brotherhood Member was, but she would find out.

She had been returning her horse to it's stable, when she'd heard two stable hands discussing the fate of the captured pirate, and she had immediately went to the head of the guards. Apparently, he had been injured after being found within the palace walls, the secret had been kept from Luria, for fear she would be hurt, by a wayward assassination attempt. Luria's anger made the guard cower, she went to shower, change and stormed from her chambers and into the darkened stone dungeon, reserved for the most vile of criminals.

"How dare you keep this from me, Donovan! How dare you!" she yelled, her grey eyes alight with rage. Donovan sputtered a reply, as Luria's boots sounded along the cobblestone floors.

"Where is the prisoner, Donovan?" she asked, her perfectly manicured nails digging into the palms of her hands. Donovan pointed to the farthest cell and Luria stocked towards it, and waited silently until the door was open. Unfortunately, it was at this point that Donovan spoke up to protest.

"My Queen, I do not think it would be appropriate to let that pirate filth out and - "

Luria snapped, "I did not ask you what you thought, Captain Donovan! You will unlock this damn door, or by the Gods I will have your head served to Captain Night herself on a silver platter! How dare you keep this pivotal information from me. You must have lost your fucking mind!" she cursed at him.

"Now, unlock the door, go get the doctor and get out of my sight." she growled. Donovan straightened, nodded and unlocked the door, the keys jangling in silence. He left the door open and left silently as ordered.

Luria noted the thin frame of the Pirate and her anger drained.

"Oh, you poor, poor darling." she murmured softly. She was wearing her boots, a pair of wide-legged twill slacks, and a tank top. She usually dressed down after riding. The Doctor and a nurse entered the room, and Luria watched silently, as he assessed the slender cat creatures injuries. A broken ankle, that would need to be set. Luria growled, if left unattended for much longer, it would have healed into place. As it is, it would need to be reset in order for it to heal properly. She watched them lift the creature gently onto a stretch and she followed them as he was taken to the med lab. When reaching the med lab, she hand one of her hand maidens ready the room next to Luria's chambers for him.

She would stay by his side until he left this place, she told herself. As it was, she would need to send one of her Hawks to Cruz. It was one of the few ways she got into contact with him....

Where…where was he…what had happened? There was so much….so much pain in parts of his body that he probably didn’t realize he had. What happened? Where was he? Those questions constantly lurked in his mind. He could see things…images…images that moved. He felt as Titan had been speaking to him…Tai Cho…where was his Tai Cho. His body ached so much…why? Why did it hurt so much? His eyes began to flutter open, prying the dim light of the dungeon to his eyes. He could feel his body constrained to the chains about his wrists and ankles…his ankle…the pain. Had he broke it? Oh…yes…he broke it…but what else happened? Why did everything else hurt.

He was stripped of his clothing, leaving him to shiver in nothing but soiled boxers. He pissed himself…but why? The stench of his urine was still prominent, and he was embarrassed as he looked down at the cobblestone floor. It was cold…so cold. He could hear the sound of dripping water behind him, and his ear flicked. Ouch! That hurt too? Damn, what happened to him. He wanted to move his legs a bit, but that only allowed him more pain…more friction his body was not ready to handle. Yet he wasn’t dead…thank the gods he wasn’t dead.

Then he heard them…footsteps…a woman’s voice…a man’s voice…footsteps.

His body shook with utter fear, pushing himself against the wall. He remembered now…he remembered as the men found him lying asleep under a tree. They grabbed him…and one knocked him unconscious. He remembered very little after that. It had hurt…so much, and it was hurting just as much now. He wanted to cry, desperately he wanted to cry…and to scream. Scream for help, Tai Cho…TAI CHO! He called out with panic in his head…but there was no response. Why wouldn’t she respond…couldn’t she hear him? The Captain would never ignore his cries…why couldn’t she hear him...what was going on?

The door swung open and a woman walked on through. She was speaking to him, but it came out so muffled. Her face seemed kind enough to him, and her eyes were soft and warm. His mother had eyes like that…who was she? Would she hurt him too? For a moment when she came closer to him, he whimpered, coiling his body into a fetal position out of utter fear of pain. He trembled with fear…and one could taste it off him if they were of another nature.

Others arrived with her, and his body went into panic. If he wasn’t sedated, he would’ve put up a fight. What of a fight he could possibly muster. It all hurt so much…so badly. He once again was asleep.

He dreamed…Tai Cho…where are you…Titan…Titan! Help me…I want…I want to go home..

When he awoke he still could feel the soreness in his limbs, every inch of him ached but his ankle had been the worse. He turned his head slowly to look around him. Instruments…his back was cold…where was he. He looked around, his body beginning to shake with worry. Where was he? Where was he?

“HELP ME!” He shrieked. He began to fight and flail, attempting to release himself. Where was he…who were these people.. they would kill him…they’d kill him for sure!

~ Dear Cruz,

I have recently encountered one of your Brotherhood within my kingdom. How he got here, I am not sure, but he is badly injured and near death. With my help and care, he will be fine within a few days. However, I cannot keep the secret of hiding this cat creature for very long. Not with Cyprus Medyke and General Thornblood sniffing around frequently. Please send word to Captain Night, and her Brood. I shall protect this youngling with my very life if need be.

Love,

Luria ~

She finished writing the note, rolled it up, and stuck it gently to the talon of the hawk she had resting on her leather gauntlet covered forearm. She whispered softly to the Hawk.

"Go to Cruz, Milena. Do not stop until he has the message. You will rest with him and return when you have all of your energy back."

The Hawk fluttered and churred softly, nuzzling it's head back against Luria. She had raised Milena from a chick, and she would continue to raise her offspring.

"Go. Now." she spoke, and the hawk took off from her arm and Luria didn't leave the roost until she couldn't see the majestic bird anymore with her sharp eyes. She could hear footsteps, and she heard the frantic voice of one of the nurses assigned to care for the pirate. He was awake, frantic and scared. She hurried to the young cat creature's side, feeling foolish for having left for such a long time. She entered and went to his side immediately, gripping his arms with a firm grip and placing them down to his sides.

"Please rest little one. You're safe now. You're safe..." she shushed him, gripping his hands within hers, so he would see that she meant him no harm, and would not let any further dangers come to him, without risking herself first.

"I am Queen Luria...you're in my castle and you are safe now. Please...be calm and rest. You've suffered a lot of trauma, and you need to be still." she smoothed his hands over his forehead, sweeping the wayward hair out of his face. She hoped she could calm him down, she did not want to sedate him, although she would if she had too.

He eased for a moment when the woman took him by the arm. It was cool touch of her flesh. He hadn’t realized he was sweating or that he had even been hot until she touched him. He suddenly felt faint, and pain rang throughout his body again. There was a slight grimace in his face now, and his body remained slightly reluctant. He wanted to run, run away from this woman he didn’t know. He could see her lips moving but could make out only muffled sound. He wanted to be able to hear her, to make out the words that were coming from her mouth bit it was so difficult. Not to mention the strain hurt radically. It made him wonder if he could ever hear well again.

He wanted to be able to listen to what the woman was saying, but he wasn’t sure what to do. He wasn’t sure about anything at the moment. He just knew that he was in a place he did not know, surrounded by beings that had on medical equipment and were staring at him as if he were feral. Him? Feral? His Captain always referred to him as a kitten, because that was what he was. He could hardly kill insects let alone anyone else. He began to move from her touch now, but wanting to stay. His deep blues watched her eyes, looking for a strand of contempt…and there was none.

He relaxed now, allowing himself to at least be able to comprehend if her couldn’t hear her. He didn’t want to ruin her castle if this was the Queen. He remembered something about a Queen, but Queen of what? He still wasn’t sure and at the same time he just wanted to run. He allowed himself to walk towards her. He opened his mouth to speak, but words became so hard to form. It was as if it were being held by something, a heavy burden. Not to mention it didn’t feel so good either.

“I…I’m Nykos. Omuri Nykosi…” He was able to form. It hurt so much to even stand. Wild eyes scurried about the room’s contents and those that filled it. Ears pinned flat against his head and his tail settling between his legs. He would flip again, he would. Like the way you corner animals into places where then didn’t want to be, he would certainly flip out. Then he realized, what of the Wild Ones? Would they hurt them and his Tai Cho? Were they after the Brotherhood of Blood? What did they want? “I…never meant any harm. I’m sorry…I’m sorry. Just kill me, don’t kill them, just kill me…Don’t kill them please…please…please…” He fell to his knees, rocking, muttering.

He shouted out in his mind for anyone…some one. Why couldn’t he be heard. Where was Spike? Could Spike hear him? Where was Bruce, Bruno…Tyrus….hell Saraj and Sakhan, where were they all? He turned to the woman, curling up into a tight and fearful fetal position. His body began to shake uncontrollably. He was truly afraid, afraid of these people and what they might do to him. He didn’t want to be hurt anymore, he just wanted to go home. Go home and cuddle under his Hand, and his Tai Cho. He wanted Spike to scratch behind his ears and tell him it would be alright…he wanted to go home but he would not let them touch his family.

"It's worth the try, Phineus!" she cried, in a shriek voice, much louder than she normally spoke. The nurse, who had entered with the doctor to examine the young man's injuries, stood just beyond the doctor's desk within the private confines of his office. The doctor himself, more commonly known as Doctor Maxell, stood at the window, looking out upon the grounds and glancing between the guards that walked by, a searching suspicious blaming them for at least half the man's injuries, though he had no idea how deep they ran.

Doctor Maxell was known for his medical genius. He could set any bone, and bandage any laceration, but for some reason nothing he had done for the younger catling had seemed to have any effect. Wounds that should have coagulated still bled through their wrappings, and that ankle... well, he would have to set it before it began to heal in that wrecked position, but... well, he simply had his doubts. Now, any doctor in the land would tell him to check and double check his texts, and mend and remend till everything balanced itself out, but Phineus recognized dire need when he saw at. With an exhuasted sigh, he knit his aged white brows together and rubbed at his temples.

"I know, I know. It's just a matter of convincing Queen Luria to give the woman enough space to do what needs to be done. Luria is... over-zealous in her caring, sometimes, you know."

The start of this conversation had been an off-handed comment about one of the most infamous healers around. As an inhabitant in Elusia, it shouldn't have been a problem requesting such help, but this particular woman was an elemental, and they claimed loyalties to no one but their own. Phineus had had the pleasure of studying the medicinal powers of nature some years back when he was just starting out his doctoral career, and had kept in touch over the years, but would she really come? Who was to say she was even alive anymore... but if she was the best, and Phineus believed she was, it would be in the younger man's best benefit to call her to the castle.

"Right then." Phineus muttered to himself, rolling his shoulders and shrugging away his weariness. The middle-aged nurse, a long time friend to the older man, gave him a reassuring squeeze to his shoulder as he passed her by on his slow pace from the office.

With calm steps, Phineus made his way down the hall to the med lab where the wayward pirate and his queen were cloistered. With a gentle knock, the doctor let himself into the small surgical equipped room and bowed his head politely to both the Queen and her self-imposed ward. "I beg your pardon my Queen, but I have need of word with you, if you don't mind." Patient as he was, Phineus waited just off to the side of the room until the Queen approached. In a hushed voice, trying to disturb the guest as little as possible and not worry him about yet another stranger, he lobbied for his cause.

"Your highness, the boy's injuries are beyond my medical attentions. The medicines I could give him could react badly to both his own... nature," he started, referring to the fact that his patient was half feline, whom he had never personally worked with before. "...and the delicacy of his wounds. Please, allow me to summon a healer. Her name is Caroo Banzai, of the Cayuga Clan within the Black Forest. I assure you, she will be able to heal the boy." Phineus glanced to Nykos, and lowered his gaze. If only he'd been the a-typical patient, Phineus could have had him right, ready and out the door by now. Hopefully though, Luria would understand his position, and this whole ordeal could be settled.
