Ugly Ducklings Against the World: Heart of the World

It was all a blur... They remembered fighting against yoma along with their comrades during the siege of Sutafu. It wasn’t going all well. It was the day that they all feared. The yoma of the continent had united to defeat them. The warriors, as mighty as they were, were hopelessly outnumbered. They fought a hell of a fight. Countless yoma and many awakened beings and traitor hybrids were killed. Even one of the Abyssal Ones was slain. Alas it was a battle already lost. They were overwhelmed by the swarm of enemies. One by one the warriors fell in battle. The only option left was to run for their lives. They were trainees of the Organization. If there was any future left for the continent it was them.

Not long after they left Sutafu, a massive yoki appeared in the desert lands where the now destroyed Organization was. This yoki was so potent that in the eyes of yoki sensitive people it looked like a sea of fire. Now it was spreading out of Sutafu to consume to the entire continent. They ran west as far as they could, as fast as they could. Yet the Sea of Fire had caught up and the creatures of fire within it were strong. There was a warrior protecting them and soldiers of Rabona in a huge battle. Yes, knights of Rabona had captured them. They didn’t recall what happened in between, but one thing was sure. Their comrades were no where close.

The place they woke up in was a sorry excuse for a dungeon. The cell door was broken into pieces just like all the bodies that littered its entrance. Bodies? Indeed there were several dozen corpses slashed into bits decorating the corridor. Just in front of the cell where trainees were resting in until now was a little girl sleeping. She was covered in blood but considering how peaceful her sleep was the blood probably wasn’t hers. The girl had two longswords that looked like claymores on a normal sized warrior. It was no doubt she was a hybrid since all the trainees could sense her yoki easily.

The trainees suddenly felt a sharp pain in various parts of their bodies. The wounds from earlier battle hadn’t healed well enough. At least they had plenty of rest and were able to move around. Their swords no where to be found. From far they could hear sound of people.

”I think they are finally gone. Damn there is a legion of demons.” ~???

”How about the silver eyed witches the knights brought in?” ~???

”That little demon won’t let anyone near. Didn’t you see how she killed all those fire monsters!” ~???

The sounds slowly died. The trainees now had to figure out what to do. They were in an unknown place and all they had right now was this girl who had been guarding their cell. The worse they didn’t seem to remember each other. No trainee recognized or knew the name of other trainees. Their memories were unreliable at this stage. Maybe they could try to speak to this girl. The hybrid girl rolled on the ground uneasily. She wasn’t seeing a happy dream alright...

OOC: Basically you guys are unsure on what happened between the Siege of Sutafu and this point. You don’t recognize each other despite apparently travelling together. Your swords are not with you. Don’t forget to check ooc after each time I post for health, energy, status, etc. For this mission all you guys are trainees so try to ignore rank stuff. Lacey can be a renegade or Org warrior, that is Sapphire's choice. Have fun. :)

Vino

Smiling, completely amazed by his surroundings, Vino tried to grasp every single bit of the expression caught in this wonderufl scenery. Corpses, slashed to pieces... a girl sleeping in her seemingly restless dreams. His body seemed to hurt quite a lot, but Vino coudln´t really pay the appropriate attention to his wounds. As his gaze reached towards the sleeping girl, his glance got warmer, almost caring.

Everything in his body told him to walk towards that beautifully bloodsoaked girl, waking her up in the gentlest manner possible. A sleeping beauty such as her shouldn´t be brought forth a rude awakening. According to his thoughts, he folded his arms before his chest, leaning to the wall. Considering every possible outcome, he finally decided to ask his fellow comrades... or at least what seemed to be his fellow comrades. Maybe they were nothing but puppets dancing to the songs of naivety and prejudice.

But still, he had to at least consider their oppinion about waking the precious looking girl. What he did afterwards was up to him anyways. But no matter the situation, politeness was always appropriate. So as he watched them, he whispered:"Any suggestions what we should do? I´d like to wake the girl! If you don´t want to I will consider the worth and rationality of your opinion. All I´m asking for is, that you let me wake her up, should you decide to correspond to my opinion!"

Action 1: First of all he will try to get as good of an expression of his surroundings as possible. If he´d consider the situation insecure he would expect beeing attacked from any ankle. Should this happen he would dodge. Furthermore should the others agree with him, he would wake the girl up, by sitting besides her and gently telling her:"Hey, little lady... it´s time to wake up. This hopeless people in an even more hopeless situation need your knowledge and your strenght! So my bloodsoaked princess, would you mind to help us escape from this ridiculously dashing place?"

Should they not agree with him, he would do so anyways after thinking about it for a few seconds.

Action 2: Should the girl attempt to attack him after waking up he would try to dodge, by taking a fast step back. he then would try to get some distance between the girl and himself, looking for a sharp weapon, if possible. Should he not be able to find an useful weapon, he would at least attempt to disarm her, although only if attacked.

In case she does not want to harm him, he would just be smiling calmly waiting for her to reply to his question. But still ready to dodge by making a sidestep, should he be attacked by a different source. Waiting for his comrades to say anything they want to say.[B][/B]

Lacey woke up, recalling little to nothing of whatever had happened the past few hours, days? Looking around, there were other trainees here. Lacey of course had been a trainee for far too long, spending lengthy years inside the rusty Organization. These people on the other hand were ones who were training to be warriors. It was odd to see then all caged up like little shrimp.

Looking around, it wasn't hard to tell that everyone else was just as lost as she was, staring at each other, staring at the environment, simply staring; but the small girl was more preoccupied about the mess in this place, blood soaking everything, even the cadaver of a child with claymores lay dead in front of their cell which, by the way, was horribly made. Whoever wanted to capture hybrids clearly had no idea how to even attempt such a maneuver but somehow, they were here nonetheless, waking from being knocked out so whoever had done this, had done something right.

Everyone crowded over the girl, Lacey less so though, what was the big deal about a big fat dead child? Clearly the men in black cloaks had forgotten to walk this set of trainees or something.

W-wait... was that thing alive?

Lacey got closer, pushing the people who were in the front out of her way so she could get a full view of the child, a man standing in place, calling the child out in a tender yet psychotic manner; whatever this guy was... he wasn't dull, Lacey stepped forward after hearing his attempts to wake her up, Lacey leaning up against the cell and poking the child softly but repeatedly

"Hey you..." Lacey winced as she felt the pain kick in from the wounds on her body but she merely waved it away straightening her composure and trying again.

"Can you pretty please get up? I sort of want to get out of here and your butt's in the way miss."

Lacey would have kicked the child awake if it wasn't for the other guy being so nice to her but whatever, Lacey went off to the bars at the side of the cell, aiming a kick on the inside of the bars and kicking them toward the wall to widen the gap, hopefully she could just leave and someone, probably that red-headed boy would take care of bringing the child, who cared, she was sleeping.

Perks: Unintended Mirroring, Crowd Pleaser

Lacey will as mentioned, kick the bars in the cell to make a gap. If she is successful, she will tell the group:"So are you coming or not? I'm sure we all have places to be in."

If the men try to be a threat, Lacey flinch, pleading for help to get them to be soft on her. If last minute, they're still attempting to attack her, Lacey will move closer to one of them and under his arms as he drops the sword where she will proceed to use her force to move the sword for him, Lacey staying in between his arms using him as a hostage and a weapon.

If beasts come out of nowhere, especially these red beasts, Lacey will go back toward the sleeping child and use the trainees present as shields.

If the men are passive, Lacey will ask: "W-what's going on around here? I... I feel so frightened..." Lacey will then move in to hug one of the men, her arms being kept in front of her rather than around him and on his chest."C-can you help...?" Lacey would look up at them, watery eyes and a spooked expression facing him.

Her head keept ringing echoing of the events, but the events themselves were shrouded from her memory. Viria awoke with a head pulsing like a volcano feeling hurt in several places of her body. It wasnt a pleasant way to wake up but aleast she woke up instead of going on to endless sleep. She was one of the last to wake up and by the time her eyes adjusted to the room the others were already crowding the armed girl.

''Urgh, this feels terrible. What happened?'' She said as she approaced the group, she didnt know if they heard her as they were in th emiddle of something probably more intresting than Viria's confused and not so important question, they were wounded so they had been in battle and now they appeared to have been locked away by someone, thats all she knew, everything else was foggy and unclear. getting up she stretched her muscles to have her body wake up as well and then stared at the others, she didnt seem to remember them but they were also trainees so they were definetly better of togeather.

Action

For this turn Viria will mostly just follow the others looking for answers why they are here, if Lacey does kick in the bars Viria will attempt to follow shortly after while replying ''Anythings better than a cage.'' and should the men outside prove to be a threath she will drop the problem to Lacey while heading back inside as she doesnt favor battle unarmed.

But should they not be a threath Viria will come out but use Lacey or possibly Vino as a shield to hide behind as humans tend to shift their loyalties and personality over the smallest things.

They all agreed on one thing. Trust was a wonderful feeling. Even without knowing each other they still managed to remain calm. Viria’s question went unanswered as the other two were more focused on the little girl. As tempted she was to kick the girl Lacey kicked the metal bar instead. This ended up kicking the poor blood drenched girl indirectly. It was a rude awakening after all...

”Wha-!?! Who? When? How? Why?” ~Pixie

The girl looked around for danger as she prepared her weapons but she saw only the trainees. And for that matter they saw the girl was a trainee as well only difference being the customized weapons. Once she was convinced that there was no danger around she lowered her weapons. Meanwhile they were all wondering what Viria was doing behind Vino. All the trainees got out of the cell and were now in the corridor, leaving the small mound of death behind to stand on flat floor for a change.

”Oh goodness... Viria, stop hiding behind Vino! You know what happened last time when you grabbed him from behind... Anyway, good to see you guys still kicking! /go ” ~Pixie

As she was speaking the trainees were in the process of looting corpses. Vino got himself a longsword, while Lacey picked a dagger. Viria found an intact spear. It wasn’t the best equipment but beggars couldn’t choose.

”I think they placed the others in different parts of the jail, but I found you guys first and decided to protect you while I took a... nap. Change of subject /! Since you are awake we can do stuff now. Like... Ummm.... Errr... /? ” ~Pixie

She really didn’t look bright at all. Was she even reliable to lead them? She did mention about others though. Allies could help them to escape this place.

Vino

He turned around, smiling visciously while doing so:"Sorry about back then!" he said politely looking down on the significantly shorter Viria. He then walked past her and grabbed himself a longsword from one of the many corpses. It will do... for now. he thought while checking it´s sharpness through just slightly trying to cut into his fingernail. It wasn´t an actual cut, but as he thought... it would do.

"Well like, looking for a way out of here, right? That would be the first thing to think off. But I actually like the feeling to this place... it has grace! Although the tiny bit of grace, you are allowed to look upon right here, may be nothing but a joke compared to what this place might hide! Wouldn´t it be just magnificent to discover this places purpse? It´s meaning in all that may had happened to us, before getting here? Isn´t it all just wonderful?" Vinos started speaking casually, but as he continued on enthusing about this place, he rise his voice in excitement and turned to his fellow comrades.

Then he suddenly turned calm again and added:"But first of all I advise us to look for our remaining comrades, asking the fellas talking not long ago. The more fighters we have, the better... I guess." An ambigious smile scurried over his face, but turned into his usually cheerful smile in the split of a second again.

He then suddenly stepped back, merging with the shadows of the walls. "Please get those men here. We should offer them our gratitude for beeing our hosts for so long." he then whispered just loud enough so his comrades could here him.

Action 1: Vino will attempt to hide his physical presence in the shadows of this hallway, sticking to the wall as much as possible. He would leave it to his comrades to lure the source of the discussion they heard only a short while back, into an ambush. Should the persons appearing be hostile and the other warriors be acting according to his advise and his sneak attack should succeed, he would attempt to immobalize the person he attacks by either cutting through the vendons on the backside of the knee, or hitting the person down, using his swords hilt.

Action 2: Should he succeed in crippling his opponent one way or the other, he would then attempt to follow up with a horizontal slash, aiming for the throat of a potential second or third opponent. Should he fail, he would attempt to dodge any may incoming counter-attack, by making a side-step. Should there be no counter attack, he would try to stay as close to the target as possible.

Action 3: If his opponent were to attack now, he would attempt to dodge this attack, activating his skill, by slipping below it, continuing this motion in attempt to counter-attack.

Should the enemie not attack, Vino would just fix his attention on himselve by offensivly feinting, never actually attacking. He wouldn´t activate his skill in this situation!

When Viria saw the harsh awakening she was wondering if they were all dumb or something, you simply do not kick sleeping people, thats rude. However it did awake the mystery girl so she would let it slide since they probably didnt have time to get her up the normal nice way. When she warned Viria about Vino she instantly took a step back as if her body was expecting something very cruel and dangerous, however she couldnt seem to remember what but decided to stay cautious of him.

And him appolergizing didnt help, he looked too sinister to mean it, if they werent stuck in this situation she might just have beat him up. Noticing as the others went scavanging Viria found herself a basic spear out of some pretty strong wood and a pointly sharp edge for impaleing, however the spear had an arm stuck on it, picking the spear up she tore of the cold hand who appeared to be in rigor mortis and didnt want to leave the weapon. When she got it off she found it humerous to make a joke with it as she got togeather back with their small group. ''Anyone need a hand?'' She said questionly and held herself from laughting at her own joke.

She did pay intrest even if it wasnt to much to Vino when he talked, it was obvious he was artistic when he spoke. Viria did like something which might be considered artistic as well but probably different from Vino's kind. She always did enjoy art in the creation with a sword reshaping blood and limbs, bloodshred in its making she considdered an art as only the powerful could perform it.

Then as Vino suddently appeared to assume leader possition Viria hid as well looking for a dark spot on the wall where she could stab at those who ran in without being noticed in time. ''Il help out with taking them down'' she said while gripping her spear while holding it as far to the ground as she could so they wouldnt be able to see the metal shining.

Action

Viria will take position not far behind Vino to stab at whatever gets by him. But what she will focus on is mostly watching the corridors for any other and should she notice anything moving not being them she will run at it in attempt to impale it before it can react and should there be more of them she will spin the spear like a bo staff to parry any attacks by repelling their weapons and attack with stab attacks when she finds springs in their stance and movement. Should it go bad she will call out for help while backing towards the group. But should she win the fight she will not allow any survivors unless they have anything to offer or simply are to misserable to end.

Lacey:

In an attempt to kick the bars apart, Lacey kicked the girl, waking her up from her slumber. At least she had gotten out of the way now, Lacey moving out and ignoring this Viria chick, whoever she was, and her antics. Lacey had no memory of her so why should she care about a stranger like that?

Looking through the piles of bodies on the floor, Lacey immediately looked for the best weapon for her throwing weapons left and right until she found a dagger, having a good look at the child, she seemed to be a trainee as well, short and midget-y, the only difference being her weapons which would have been kick ass to have. Unfortunately for Lacey though, the child looked idiotic so much like her, the weapons would be useless.

Lacey was ready to speak, the Viria and Vino trainees beginning to talk amongst themselves, making a plan and such other dull things like that.

Without saying a word, Lacey moved away from the fruity hybrids and headed directly towards the voices.

Perks: Unintended Mirroring, Crowd Pleaser

Lacey will skip over, being sure to keep her dagger away from sight, to the source of the conversation and try to listen in before speaking and interrupting them.

Lacey will be bright and grinning, hugging the nearest person unless they seem hostile enough to attack. Surely after, bombarding questions at the people in an attempt to confuse them (and simply making them forget whether there is anything wrong with the situation) and at the same time, receive answers, being sure to make her prominent questions the ones that stick out so she can have them answer those.

After attempting hugging one of these people, Lacey will smile up at them and reach for one hand from each, and begin to swing them back and forth, like friends she had known.

"Hey there! Misteresess/Mister and Missesss/Missesesesesesss" Lacey will make sure to make the plural of the word sound as childish as possible and as if she doesn't really know it, making her eyes wide and innocent, a bright smile looking up at them, the dimples forming to keep their attention at her face, Lacey making sure to keep their attention at her face should the other trainees come and ruin it because serously, the only one cute enough to continue the illusion would be Pixie and she's probably a monster to them already for what she's done.

Anyways, Lacey will start the questions right away, making sure to ask two questions to one person and two to the other so they always have questions in their mind but Lacey will be sure to modulate her voice using the same sort of voice technique for her skill that pushes words onto others but with these questions though obviously, not trying to add in effects or put strength into the action, simply using the same technique to make them stick out.

"Can you tell me where we are?
How old are you?
What's your name?
How many brothers do you have?
What sort of people or creatures are housed in this place?
Is your mom pretty? I bet she is!
If you could choose one color to paint your face forever, which would you choose?
What happened here?" And to the other man;

"Has anyone else been through here?
Is that your natural hair color?
How tall are you?
What is down both sides of the corridor that I just passed?
I bet you're strong! How much weight can you carry?
Do you like brunettes or blondes?
What's your favourite song?
Who do the body's in front of the cell belong to?"

Lacey will ask the people back and forth, if there are more than two people, she will split the questions evenly.

If they seem hostile, Lacey will try to intimidate them and scrape the dagger against the wall as she walks toward them, a devilish glaze at the pair. She will only ask the important questions and move away from strike range since they should be slow in their armour, asking more aggressively each time.

Pixie wasn’t the only one they woke up when Lacey kicked the bars, Freya had been sleeping in the shadows agents the wall. She looked around at the other trainees who had now all started going out the door collecting weapons with that girl Obviously a trainee as well not even noticing her as she got up to stretch out. She briefly thought about sneaking up and scaring the shit out of them but she didn’t feel like getting stabbed right now so she settled for clearing her throat.

“ so thinking about leaving me behind without even checking are you. And you ass holes are talking about finding more comrades when you can’t see what’s right here laughable.” She taunts them. She will then pretend to have said nothing even if she pissed off anyone and walk right into the middle of them. “well doesn’t matter now let’s get going those knights need a stern talking to for locking us up.” She said smashing her fist into the palm of her hand.

Actions:

She will look to see if there are any weapons left among the dead, if so she will grab it or if there is something to at least defend with such as a shield she would grab that if there were no weapons. if neither of those things are there she will continue on without any.

She will then fallow the rest of the warriors down the hall fallowing vino’s plan somewhat. If they don’t appear hostile she will let Lacey ask her questions. If not Freya will engage them ether after one of the others if she is completely unarmed to offset them in the battle with faints and a haymaker to the head if the opportunity arises.

If she has some sort of weapon she will charge hostiles with wide horizontal slashes at the head or just ram them if it’s only a shield. She will try to block attacks in close and respond with vertical slashes attempting to sever limbs, all with a huge grin on her face.

Pixie scratched her head as Vino talked. She knew the guy was weird but it got her everything he spoke. She was starting to think he had a potential psycho in him. Pixie was experienced and saw many examples such as him. Though he had his personal touch, separating him from the crowd. As for Viria, Pixie didn't even laugh at her joke. As much as she loved good jokes, this wasn't one... The most interesting however was what those two were doing.

”Seriously guys.... You wanna kill humans? I mean the Organization is no more and all but still... Oh forget it.” ~Pixie

At least Lacey wasn't doing anything shady. She took the direct approach and headed to the corridor where she heard the conversation earlier. There wasn't two men there though, instead there was a very tall pink haired hybrid girl looking around for something. She then started listening to something until Lacey rushed and hugged her out of the blue. The girl obviously got confused when another girl was burying her face in her breasts during the hug, then holding her hands and swinging them back and forth. The childish act put a smile on the girl's face as she thought it was genuine.

Pixie meanwhile was still in the lower corridor waiting with the other two, making sure they didn't do anything silly. She could hear Lacey talking with someone and she was curious to see who she was talking to. However Pixie remained firm as threats in other rooms were beginning to move towards them. As the big sister of these ugly ducklings, it was her wish to protect them. Pixie really had a soft spot for kids. That is if they stopped scaring her all the time! Freya appeared out of no where and almost gave a heart attack to Pixie.

” :blink: Stop coming out of oblivion!!!” ~Pixie

As Freya picked a shortsword and round shield and took position, Lacey began asking many questions at the renegade warrior. The girl was dazzled by the speed of Lacey's questioning but she tried to keep up with the flurry of questions as best as she could. Lacey could see her mood changing with each question which led to a rather interesting display of expressions.

”Of course I can. You are in Opia's dungeons. You really don't know that? :huh:
I turned seventeen last month.
My name is Inés Blanc, pleased to meet you. :) What is your name /?
I had two older brothers, James and Nicholas. They were twins. I miss them... :(
Other than some Opia guards and Rabona soldiers we have you trainees, me, and a bunch of creatures possessed by Callisto.

Since there was no one else to ask the other set of questions, Lacey resumed bombarding the poor girl with questions. The girl didn't look bothered by it, yet she seemed to be extremely confused as on why she was being interrogated. She still continued to smile though, believing something good would come out of it.

”I just came here so I don't know /...
Oh no, I dyed it in pink. It is very hard to produce it but it worth it! I just love pinky pink! :wub:

Inés now wondered if the questions would go on or not. She was silent, waiting for Lacey to ask again any second. The trainees saw the whole thing and despite carrying a sword twice the size of a standard trainee claymore the renegade didn't look hostile at all. Pixie on the other hand was getting impatient. She was bad at hiding and peeking and she was aware of it. Hence she was still in the corridor behind the other trainees.

”So, is it safe to look there now?” ~Pixie

Vino, sighing in agony as the person they found didn´t appear to be hostile at all, came out of his hiding, sheating his sword while doing so. He then lifted his eye-brows as he listened to the massive amount of questions leaving Laceys mouth. Soon after the questions were asked the...partially...interesting answers of Ines reached his ears.

He than lifted one hand in order to interrupt the conversation. But before he actually started to ask a question himself he looked at Pixie and said:"I´m sure it is at least quite safe there now, my bloodsoaked princess, but I still would like you to wait just a few more seconds. If you think of yourself beeing more than capable in dealing with any threat that may would appear, go ahead and play the scout! But I honestly don´t want you to get hurt just now, so would you please wait until I asked our pretty Lady Ines here a question?"

He then proceeded to ask what he wanted to know, greeting Ines with a cheerful smile and a slight bow:"Good day, Lady Ines... it´s nice to see you´re just as beautiful as ever. I´m sorry to get to business already, but I´m just really curious! What would you happen to know about this Callisto-person? I´d like you to tell us, all you can! If you don´t know much or nothing at all, that´s ok though. I wouldn´t dislike you even if you were to dismember me!" His smile didn´t change at all as he spoke to Ines, but as he headed towards the end it became more like the feint shadow of a smile, decorating his cheeks. Then again, his gaze had a warm feel to it as if he´d love each and everyone in this room for their soul existance.

Since he had finished talking for now, he would now listen to Ines possible reply as well as observing their new area. There were many celldoors most likely leading to other inmates, so the possibility that more of their fellow comrades would be locked in here was present. As he noticed that he turned towards Lacey and Frey, whose sudden appearence he just ignored casually:"Would you mind looking for our comrades dear ladies? This Lacey person was quite interesting, as she practically flooded Ines in waves of questions. An intelligent move considering that most people would just answer her as simple or honest as they could, since answering all her questions properly, including thinking about them more than a second, would be almost impossible. And that girls presence alone was quite astonishing! She had such a bright, likeable aura to her... as if she´d be an ocean of blood, reflecting that crimson light, shining from the slowly faiding sun.

Action:

He´d calmy examine the room, looking for anything that may be of interest to them. So weapons, tools or key left by any corpse or whatsoever beeing in this room. Aside from that he´d expect to be ambushed any second. If so he´d try to dodge in any direction that wouldn´t hinder him in dodging. Should Pixie run off to scout ahead he´d turn to Viria and would ask her politely:"Would you please follow her, so she´s in your visual range? Should anything happen that could endanger her savety, please make sure to come back to us as fast as possible!"

Should she decide not to run off he´d just keep observing the room leaving the decision what to do to the others.

Lacey:

Seeing the woman before her, Lacey almost stopped in her tracks and gasped but things would go according to plan.

As Lacey finished shooting all her questions, she stood and stared in awe as the other kept up with the multitude of questions. Or she was talking to a beautiful genius or this was a hybrid or even more probable, an awakened being because this amount of sheer wonder would not be able to house itself in the simplest of bodies.

Finally coming back to reality, Lacey brought back her smile and answered

"Lacey, at your service! This cell, come on!" Lacey was ready to pull Ines toward the cell when the fruity claymore approached, stopping them in their tracks.

Lacey's face went from smiling and bright to blank and impatient at the sight of the guy. He was clearly hindering her progress to simply speak more than necessary and be dazed into stupidity by the mere sight of the woman. That was something only expected of a man though so it wasn't like he had been demoted from the place he had gained in her mind.

Lacey stood there, her blank stare turning into a scoff that seemed as if it had been paused as she waited for him to finish. He turned to her and some other new girl who mattered about as much as the dust building up inside the place, the man's bright happy smile, irritating her beyond anything she could recall as he asked the most peculiar of questions

"Would you mind looking for our comrades dear ladies? I know it´s blunt to ask you to do my dirty work, but I´d be really grateful to either one of you."

Lacey blinked, her expression back to blank, before she looked down and chuckled lightly, slowly looking up at the man and letting her head slant sideways as a forced, demented, even twisted smile formed, her head tilted in a manner which made the once innocent eyes look tainted and hidden in the shadows, searching, waiting.

"Blunt? Blunt you say? I'm sure I can find out whether this blade..." her dagger lifted toward him, a few inches from his body, following the path of her words. "...would be blunt, the mere tip easily scraping through your neck and down that scrawny body of yours, blood pouring down along with it, draining each and every comment out of that filthy mouth as your mind lacks the fuel to form any of your idiotic ideas. Then... then, you'll see how sharp I can be in return."

Lacey's faux smile, vanished, her dagger aiming to stab in the gap between the red-head's arm and his stomach, her gaze remaining locked into his, her body aiming to push forward against his, her spare hand lightly landing around his shoulder.

Pushing away from him, Lacey's eyes continued to glare at him, the ice cold expression remaining on him up until the very last second

Lacey will move away from Vino and Ines, heading back in the direction of the cell and grabbing Viria by the wrist, pulling her along, telling Freya;

"You follow the midget instead."

Lacey will walk in the direction opposite of the cell, and down the lower right sources of the map, telling Viria;

"Go, on, sense the area and report once we're close to anything. I'm rubbish at sensing."

Lacey will be sure to be on the defensive of any situation, dodging away from any far away threats considering her weapon and if up close, moving up to close close-combat and pushing arms away from her and thus, weapons and slashing at the head/stabbing at the heart and only attacking foes that Viria also attacks so as to double team them and end them faster.

Should they meet any friendly sources, Lacey will welcome it and ask for its intentions.

[OOC: Don't listen to Vino, Viria comes with me and Freya goes with Pixie or stays with Vino, being alone is not recommended. If you want to, Freya can come with us as well though that would leave Vino to roam around without protection. Also, as the picture spoiler states, this is my first warning :P ]

Viria had stayed out of conversation as she was a little confused of the situation. She didnt expect a hybrid with pink hair would appear who could reply to all those silly questions. Viria had lowered her spear just observing the situation. It was a bit noisy and everyone had their own weird side, she had noticed that from the first time (that she could recall) she saw them. Being grabbed so suddently and then dragged by Lacey Viria got a little confused trying to speak yet the woman seemed furious so she decided not to.

Action:

As Viria doesnt feel like going against Lacey's words in fear of what might happend she will do her best to follow her newly assigned group and sense the area for anything that gives out yoki even though she is quite terrible at this stuff. Should she find anything she will report it to her closest comrade and prepare for the worst.

She will stay on the defensive holding her spear forwards wherever the group goes and be ready to stab at anything hostile with quick thrusts aimed for vitals. Should she be attacked she will evade and jump back to go for an mid-range pierce attack.

However should there not be any danger she will still be on guard for non yoki opponents like humans to ambush them and in that case, show no mercy.

(Im sorry its short and bad but i have upcoming tests which are vital on the scores and i want my best chances, had to sacrefice this post a bit, sorry.)

Freya was a little disappointed that there was no one to fight around the corner but Ines was a surprise she could live with. She had answered all of Lacey’s questions at least. Then that Vino guy started his big intricate talk to all of them. Freya had just planned on rolling her eyes and maybe doing what he said but Lacey cut in with a dagger pointed at him and a warning coupled with a different plan. Freya grinned she knew there was something to like about that girl. The plan to stick together sounded good enough so she will walk up to Pixie.

“Looks like I’m with you Shorty lets get moving.” She says before starting down the hall with her. “If your better at sensing than a tin can then you should probably be the one to sense for yoki I can’t do it for shit but if you can’t ether I might as well try.”Actions:


Freya will walk down the hall with Pixie and possible Vino if he fallows them looking out for any enemies and/or a way out. If neither Pixie nor Vino gives her a positive on the sensing range, she will go ahead and try anyway to sense for yoki, if she finds anything she will tell the others and then head in that direction.

If the come across yoma she will go for the limbs with horizontal slashes at the legs to start then block with the shield. If it is still standing, she will try to faint a diagonal slash across the cheast and instead strike at the arms.

If they encounter hostile soldiers then instead she will go directly to shield bash them in the face and fallow that up with slapping the flat of her blade on the soldiers hand. If there are multiple or the soldier is still awake after getting hit by her shield, she will say, “alright now stop attacking or I might just start taking limbs. I don’t really want to kill you but I will if I need to.” But I’ll sure enjoy it. She adds in her mind.

Inés was surprised that she was so popular all of a sudden. Now a red haired boy was asking her questions. Inés was flattered to be called beautiful but Vino saying it as they knew each other from before erased that effect. Inés didn’t recall meeting anyone like him. Not to mention he looked very young just like the girl who asked questions earlier. They were probably trainees, all of them. The reason she came here was different though.

Inés had predicted this would happen. Pixie was the person in here who knew most of about that Callisto. Naturally she was a bit touchy about the subject. Inés didn’t want to talk as well. Both had their reasons it seemed. What happened next completely changed the atmosphere.

Pixie had glomped Inés with real blinding speed. After the initial surprise Inés began caressing a crying Pixie’s hair. It had been a long time since they saw each other and considering how Inés left it was all too awkward for Pixie to act like this. Inés was actually prepared for a fight that she'd lose but...

”I finally found you! I didn't let anyone into your room. It is like before you left. Please tell me you'll return. :( ” ~Pixie

”Pix... I can't. So much has happened...” ~Inés

As the touching reunion was going on, the youngsters were having issues with chain of command if there was any. In the end Lacey persuaded Vino that he was basically fragile as glass and left with Viria to scout the yoki source to east. It took a minute for Vino to make sure he was fine and gather the courage to move. He then began searching the cells around, which most were empty. There were some bodies littering the cells but they were human convicts. No sign of other hybrids so far...

Freya went down the corridor to scout the yoki source west. A minute later she was running back full speed. Her sword had proven to be utterly ineffective against the thing she saw. The trainee had failed to identify it because it was far too strong to be a yoma yet it didn’t seem to be an awakened being either. She had to throw herself to the corridor south to avoid the incoming fire breathe which reached Inés and Pixie. The duo jumped back, barely escaping from being burnt.

A similar scene was happening in the south east where Lacey and Viria encountered another monster. These creatures were huge and their yoki appeared as fire burning within them. No matter how much they put thought into it, injuring that thing with these paper weapons with casual combat didn’t seem possible at all... One needed to work to get those weapon draw blood out of those monsters.

Vino

Vino was caught up in thinking about this marvellous girl... Lacey. She overthrew him with her fascinating temper and even made him feel as if he´d body be fragile as glass... She was wonderful! He´d have to tell her something... as soon as possible. But first of all he´d have to get out of this...

As the noise reached Vinos ear, he rushed towards Ines and Pixie. As he arrived he asked Pixie:"Would you please hand me your swords, bloodsoaked princess? I seem to need them more than you do, viscious little bird!" His voice obviously filled with excitement cut the air like a knife, but without beeing threatening or demanding at all. He needed the swords, so he himself and Freya could be of any use in combat. Pixie could handle herself well enough, with or without a weapon.

While waiting for Pixie, he observed the situation as good as somehow possible. The creature seemed to have trapped Freya in a room seperated from the hallway through only one door... that door beeing almost at the position of this fire breathing beast. So it was quite obvious what he´d have to do in order to get Freya out of there.

Action 1:

Should Pixie hand her weapons to Vino, he would attempt to hide and sneak towards the target. As soon as he could, he would then attempt to sneak attack the creature, by using one of Pixies Claymores in a horizontal slash, aiming for the right popliteal of that strange beeing.

If Pixie doesn´t hand him her weapons, he´d try the same thing using his long-sword.

Action 2:

Yoki: AGI:5, REF:4

Energy: 25 (I think oO)

Skill: "Crimson dance"

Should he succeed in his sneak attack, he´d then activate some yoki and his skill using energy and Vino would try to dodge in the room Freya is trapped inside, attempting to get the creature between him and Freya. He now would offensively feint, throwing Pixies second sword at the monster, but would instead throw it towards Freya so she could catch it. No matter wheter he succeeds in doing so or not, he´d then try to dodge any incoming attack into any direction that would neither hinder him in dodging, nor would get him on the same side of the room, where Freya is positioned.

Action 3:

Should his dodge succeed he´d now use his already activated skill in order to make a counterattack, resulting in a slash from bottom right, to top left, aiming for the creatures abdomen. Should this attack fail he´d try to dodge any attack that might follow up, by feinting ducking but instead sidestepping, according to the nature of the attack. Again he´d dodge in any direction that wouldn´t hinder him in doing so. Should he succeed in his attack he´d try to follow up with a thrusting attack aimed for the creatures chest, in order to push it back further into the room.

Lacey:

Lacey stormed off, stomping loudly as she did so. Ugh who did the guy think he was? Instantly bossing around someone he knew nothing about. Then basically talking to her target and pushing her away to do "dirty work". There was absolutely NO part of Lacey that was dirty, how dare that piece of filth even talk to her like that. His mind was clearly not working because if anything, Lacey was the cleanest thing in the entire area, the purest being.

She aggressively pulled Viria along until the girl decided to walk on by herself. At least she pulled someone that would keep her angry pace.

As she pulled Viria along the corridor, the air seemed to become thick with nerves. Lacey didn't exactly know that there was anything nearby but she knew that as soon as she walked to take Viria with her, everyone else gazed in this direction and the one opposite of the cell so there HAD to be something. She was sure the reason both she and Viria had become so quiet, so stiff was because of this source. Whatever it was, it would prove to be hinder-some.

As they turned the corner, Lacey froze and almost instinctively quickly lifted her left arm forward and across her right shoulder, then with as much strength as possible, weapon in hand, threw the dagger at the beast before quickly yanking Viria away going at full speed ahead.

A hushed and hurried whisper toward the girl:

"You distract it, I'll go and get us weapons. We'll meet back at cell but be sure to take your time and rememb-"

At the site of the monster turning the corner, Lacey's mouth closed and she moved towards the darker side of the corridor. As much as she knew about sticking out and being the star of the show, she knew about staying away from the limelight.

This was the time Lacey was glad that she was shorter, smaller than the other warriors. As Lacey ran, she pulled her dress tightly around her body, showing the lack of meat. If she was seen, at least Viria would look much tastier. Lacey held her hand out as if she was holding two heavy weapons and took quick steps instead of hr usual long strides, hopefully this too would show the creature that Viria would have been a better target since the tiny but seemingly quicker child would have been much more bothersome of a chase as well as the only person who could have thrown a dagger would have been the one who had an empty hand.

Right off the bat, Lacey will aim to throw her dagger at Creature 1 (south-easternmost one) aiming to land it between knee since it seems like a fragile part of the creature's. She will run away trying to keep the attention away from herself as mentioned then heading toward Ines and Pixie saying

"Alright we've got a problem but I'm sure we can handle it ourselves. One small request though, we'll need something more than cheap metals to make it happen."

Lacey will go back to holding Ines' hand and now Pixie's as well as she looks up confidently at them, trying to reassure them in their safety. At the sight of Ines' sword, would continue going, directing herself at the pink haired hybrid

"Would it be alright if I were to use your sword, I'll be sure to return it once I'm done, it's just that one of the other trainees might be in serious trouble soon and I'd really would like to help her."

Whether or not Ines accepts, Lacey will ask her one more thing. Should Ines accept early on, Lacey will cut herself off and accept to stress her hurry.

"Sorry for the bother but I have one more thing to ask you. Would you mind sensing the area? We're all incredibly horrible in the field and since I'm already asking you for one thing, I might as well ask another. Thank you for everything" /kis

Once again, should Ines accept early on, she will cut herself and move on to the next task.

Situation 1
________________

Should Creature 1 follow her despite her and Viria's attempts, Lacey will assume a defensive position, being sure to stay near a corner so as to move to the side should the Creature breathe fire. Lacey will attempt to intimidate the creature by seeming highly aggressive and maniacal, shocking him from going from weak and scared to psychotic and sadistic in mere seconds as she moves closer to the creature to attack, feinting to cut both of the creature's arms but really being ready to parry.

"If that really all you can do?" Lacey going into a fit of lunatic laughter, making sure to stay defensive at all times.

"I've already cut off a large portion of your arms and you've not even landed a mere hit on it. Look at how slow your movements have become already, were you a threat at all or merely here to test me?" Maniacal laughter would continue every time the creature seemed to braven up or attempt to attack either her or Viria.

Should Lacey have gotten the sword from Ines, she will try to keep at a safe distance, taking advantage of the long reach and parry towards the wall, ceiling and ground, counterattacking by feinting horizontal slashes across the creature's legs to disable it but really attempting to thrust into it's chest and while pulling the sword out, leave gashes so that if the source of the fire comes from it's chest, it'd hopefully lose or be hindered in it.

Lacey will take advantage of any distractions that Viria should provide and aim to disable the being's legs and arms.

Situation 2

Should Viria and her succeed in distracting Creature 1, Lacey will head over toward Creature 2 along side Vino.

Should she not have a sword, Lacey will stay in the corner of the room behind Vino and attract Creature 2's attention as much as possible by taunting it with comments like:

"Hey Dumbass!.... No... not you red-headed freak, I'm talking to the beast with clear mental hindrances. Haven't you looked at it, it can't even beat a bunch of weaklings like it because it lacks any sort of brains. Now hurry up and kill it, we've got more important things to do.

"Hey, abomination over here! Yeah, you with the pointy groin, try your luck with me, I'm probably the weakest one around yet you can't lay a finger I bet!" :P

Among other variations, doing this to leave Freya openings, letting it attack in Vino's direction so he can try to dodge and counterattack and Lacey can completely scram back to the other side of the corner where the creature would have to go through Vino to get her.

If Lacey does have the weapon, she will place herself between Freya and Vino, attracting the attention towards herself as much as possible with the same insults/calls for attention as mentioned and parry as many attacks as possible in an upwards or downwards direction to leave openings for the other two and hinder it's attack speed. Should she feel like she can't handle the attacks, Lacey will stop taunting it and see how she fairs, should she still be having difficulty, she will stick alongside Vino, and keeping the same strategy of teaming up on Creature 2.

Should Creature 2 begin to shoot fire, Lacey will quickly move in close to it and aim to go under it and behind it to attack it's back with a heavy thrust where it's spinal chord should be. (Luck: 20 per attempt)

In both occurrences, Lacey will only use the yoki if she has the sword and once she is actually parrying. If she is trying to attract attention to herself, Unintended Mirroring will not be active but once she is dodging or in trouble, she will dodge it

Should she be chased by one of the creatures and be on her own, without a weapon, she will attempt to lower the creature's Movement in the same way as she did to Creature 1 in Situation 1 except replace the talk of it's arms to talk about it's legs, using the same intimidating tactic and feinting to attack tactic as Lacey proceeds to move around corners and sneak attack using Unintended Mirroring to sneak attack the target and attack it's arms and legs.

Lacey will be wary of the creature exploding should it's abdomen be attacked and will try to go around a corner should she feel it coming on. If not near a corner, then behind Freya and her shield should it be in situation 2.

‘Holy shit’ Freya thought as she ran back down the hall and turned the corner to avoid being set aflame. ‘Since fucking when do yoma breathe FIRE?!’ she thought. She discarded the thoughts as they were irrelevant it doesn’t matter how it did it all that mattered is that she needed to kill it and fast. She inwardly sighed looks like she wouldn’t get to enjoy these things. Thinking of that she looked at the weights she had on, it was going to be one of those times. She couldn’t just cleave through this thing she was going to need soft spots and maybe a better weapon.

“hey ugly this way!” she shouted down the hall as she prepared for battle again.

Actions:
Skill: release restraint 1
Yoki: (5 AGI,5 DEX)
Perks:

Before the creature gets there Freya will remove the first of her weights and activate her yoki to prepare for the fight.

Freya will attempt to hold the creature’s attention by shouting at it to tempt it into the room, and try to dodge around the corner and out of the way if it breathes fire at her.

When /if vino throws the sword Freya will try to catch it by the handle and then engage the monster which she will do regardless of if she gets a claymore or not. She will slash at the joints of the creature at the knees. If it slashes with it’s claws or elbows (they look dangerous) she will parry if she has a claymore or block if she has the short sword and shield still. If it breaths fire she will dodge the hell out of the way if she can even trying to slide under it’s legs if there is not enough room in the hall.

If the slashes at the joints prove ineffective she will try to stab it through one of the slits in it’s chest with her sword and then backing up and dodging in case it decides to go nuclear or breath fire.

[Sapphire]

Viria NPC:

Yoki: 9 into Mov (possible 5 directed to Agi)
Skill: Broken Limit (Conditionally, activated by energy)
Perk: Marathon Maniac (Should it be applicable)

Viria will act more aggressive toward Creature A, immediately running back, taking a right and going upwards on the eastern-most path. As she runs, Viria will scrape her weapon against the wall to make noise and take less frequent but longer strides to appear as if she is taking less steps than Lacey and persuade Creature A that she s a slow and easy target to pick off though, an aggressive one too to prove that she will be much more fun to destroy. Right off the bat, she will kick off her yoki to call for more attention from the opponent. Should there be no combat, her perk will be active.

Situation 2

Hopefully, this much speed will keep Viria relatively safe. Should it not, she will activate her skill and perk, running away from the creature, putting all acts behind and running for her life.

If it is enough speed though, She will redirect 5 yoki into agility, combining her quick feet with her quick body to dodge attacks by leaping forward. If Creature A doesn't pay attention to Viria, she will use her weapon to smack the flat of her weapon or use her speed to gain momentum and stab into it to gain that attention.

To move away from the flames, Viria will run around corners and behind pillars/walls

Should there be doors in her way, Viria will use her momentum and speed to break them open by hitting them where the hinges would be.

Situation 1

Should Viria fail in getting the creature to chase her instead of Lacey, she will activate her skill and leave the 9 yoki in Mov be, letting Lacey distract while Viria stands away from the creature. Should it's attention be taken in by Lacey, she will leap forward, taking advantage of her speed and momentum to thrust into it and quickly pull back (heh) continually, making sure to stay away from the range of the creature's strikes and running around corners, faster than the flames (hopefully) to dodge.

Viria will attract the attention towards her should the creature focus against Lacey by stabbing into it or should she not have the weapon she found, moving weapons that are already lodged in the creature, deeper into it to increase the pain and injury by taking momentum and pushing into the weapon to wedge it deeper.

Should there be none, Viria will leap into the creature and cover its eyes, enough to at the very least annoy it and keep it distracted for Lacey to have an appropriate strike.

Lacey’s reaction wasn’t an ideal one. Throwing the dagger definitely drew the creature’s attention on her. It looked angry as the iron dagger bounced off its knee cap. The monster waited however. It seemed to be thinking. But of course Lacey and Viria didn’t wait to see the outcome of it. Lacey headed to Inés who was hiding at the upper corridor. The creature was distracted by Freya and gave Lacey the opportunity to get to where Inés, Pixie, and Vino were.

Hell had broken loose in the dungeon. Pixie was wondering why Vino was asking for stupid stuff with hellfire burning right under their noses. He wanted her sword to fight the monster. Kids really didn’t know their places. Were they even aware what they were facing? No trainee could fight such opponents, not even those destined to become single digits. Then she thought about it. Heck it all, she’d accept his request. Just for the fun of it.

”Take it o mad prince of soon to be dead kingdom. I’ll be getting them back from your ashes.” ~Pixie

Pixie was positive unless she and Ines saved their asses they’d be barbecue. Those creatures were strong even for them. Meanwhile Lacey was asking the same thing to Inés. Unlike Pixie the pink haired girl was only willing to help. The little girl was shocked by this. Because the sword she was handing over was...

”Sure you can have it. :) ” ~Inés

”Inés... Is that sword Ind Megil..?” ~Pixie

”Yes. You know it /? ” ~Inés

”It looks like Lacey is a goner too. /sigh You should tell me how you got your hands on it though.” ~Pixie

When she returned to the corridor Lacey saw the monster waiting for her. In fact both creatures had her between them. They weren’t dumb beasts at all. Vino’s attempt to sneak was foiled as well. The fire creature had taken note of Freya’s presence but it knew there were more threats ahead in the corridor, namely Pixie and Inés. But now there were two more enemies. This gave time for Freya to get rid of her armour restriction. To their surprise the beast Lacey was facing spoke with a monstrous voice.

”Gorga i’val naur! An coia i’Heryn!” ~Fire Creature

The trainees didn’t understand a word of it. The monsters’ reaction to Lacey’s words carried an equal reaction. Both sides didn’t know each other’s language. Hence Lacey’s ability was almost useless on the creatures. Viria’s began attacking with hit & runs. At first it was good at distracting the monster, but then the spear broke. Not to mention Viria’s lack of proper execution she was unable to apply her speed into striking power, thus she was unable to scratch the monster.

It was then Lacey lifted, or at least tried to, Inés’ sword. The thing was just too long and heavy for her. She had trouble holding it straight. The creature’s reaction to the sword’s sight was even a greater twist.

”Ind Megil!!! Cam ta vanwa! Tanya i' harma en' Sgiathatch Nosse!” ~ Fire Creature

With extreme fury the monster breathed fire on Lacey. There was no way she could escape this...

Meanwhile on the other battle, Freya was actually drawing some blood with her new strength. The creature was guarding its weak places well though. Still the trainee managed to shatter the monster’s left knee cap before breaking the shortsword. It was then Vino came to her aid. The trainee unsuccessfully tried a sneak attack but it was good enough to draw its attention. He managed to throw one of Pixie’s swords to Freya.

Her new weapon was the size of a big longsword. It wasn’t a claymore but this would do. Freya’s next attack opened a shallow cut on the monster’s chest. Vino’s attacks on the other hand were pitiful as none of his blows penetrated the skin. The monster was guarding its weak spots with its arms really well. Freya felt the fiery response of the monster. She didn’t have time to run. At least she raised her shield in time to cover from the flames...

Lacey was safe. She should have been burned to a crisp by now. Instead in the middle of the flames was a hybrid. Her uniform revealed she was a trainee as well. Unlike the rest of the group she had a claymore. The monster’s bewilderment only increased when blood spilled from its guts. The girl not only saved Lacey but also delivered a serious wound on the creature. She spoke to Lacey gently.

”Get up sister. You cannot be so frail to fall before the likes of this. Surely a just cause shall give you strength to succeed.” ~ ???

All of a sudden Lacey felt better. As she stood up she realized she could lift Inés’ sword properly. Who was this trainee that was rivalling Lacey in her own speciality? Despite all that was said the girl didn’t look like she was going to press the offence. It was more like she was trying to cover their retreat. And where were Pixie and Inés? Surely they wouldn’t leave them alone. Right?
