Traitors Among Us: Silverhawk Down

She had been running for half an hour. Was it half an hour? It felt like an eternity. They were faster and much stronger than she imagined. And their numbers... Since when traitors had such numbers? Meredith was leading hunting team composed to handle multiple yoma that had infested the port city of Gomahl. The request was a fake. The Organization was led into a trap.

”There is still one left. Make haste. We have to find her!” ~???

”Let’s keep the others alive. As long as we have her comrades alive she’ll try to rescue them.” ~???

”I’m not sure about that... She looked like a heartless bitch.” ~???

”Yeah, and a cowardly one at that. She’ll try to rescue them just to increase her chances. Not that she has any. :D ” ~???

[spoiler=Gomahl](Posted Image)[/spoiler]
They laughed at her weakness. The ambush was almost perfect. The renegades only hadn’t estimated the presence of the Eye candidate. Yammet’s warning was the thing that saved them from defeat without even knowing what hit them. Instead they fought and were beaten. Meredith had lost her pursuers by hiding among the dumpster near the Grand Line Inn. It wasn’t her style, but considering how badly wounded she was just an hour ago... She healed very slowly while hiding in trash, releasing yoki minimally in order not to be detected. It was humiliating, yet survival demanded such measures. Now she had swallowed a suppression pill just in case.

Her allies were being held captive. Thanks to her comrades constantly releasing yoki she knew where they were held captive. Meredith at this point could only hope their location wouldn’t change. Renegades would now be holding all exits out of Gomahl and all entrances connecting districts. Help would arrive eventually. The handler would get suspicious about them not reporting. After all a few yoma couldn’t take out warriors of their calibre.

Right now Meredith was fully healed and rested. She had her yoki suppression medicine in effect and had three spare pills. She didn’t know the exact number but there were more than ten renegades in Gomahl at least two of them single digit level. What about humans though? It was night time but perhaps she could... Wait, Gomahl wasn’t one of those hybrid friendly towns. This could be used to her advantage however. The inn was right next to her and Meredith needed a few thing if she was to rely on stealth even if it was night.

The thought of how viciously she was gonna kill all of those pests was the only thing that made this desperate strategy bearable... She was going to hunt them down one by one and kill them like rats. If there was something she wanted to do before she died was tear each and every one of those renegades a new asshole... Of course she expected the Organization might send someone else to investigate what was taking so long, and probably backup stong enough to deal with this rabble. But her pride and free spirit would never allow Meredith (emotional side at least) to rely on reinforcements like this, not when most of the enemies were well within her team's ability to defeat.

"Fuck that... I'll kill them all before anyone else has to show up..."

While she healed her wounds she had enough time to figure out a working strategy to turn the Renegades plan on them, and taking advantage of the cities disposition towards them. She was right next to an inn... If she managed to convince people that she'd been robbed by bandits with silver eyes and that she managed to follow them into this city, it might just be the trick to blow their cover. Supressants or not, shady people coming into town always tend to draw attention in a way... If she managed to get the renegades distracted with the citizens, she might have an easier time getting her teammates back, and that would make it easier to raise some hell...

[ACTIONS]
Perk: Gentle Beauty

She'll look around before getting out of the dumpster she's hiding in, to try to assess how busy (if at all) this city is at night. If there are a lot of people around, she'll perform the next action inside it before getting out...

Meredith will remove her spaulders, gauntlets, fauld, and boots... Every piece of metal she wore was gone, even the neck piece with her symbol and her two swords were removed, stashing her gear away in what she hoped to be a safe place behind the dumpster. The damaged skin tight outfit was the only thing left that could identify her as a Claymore, and given its damaged appearance, it wouldn't be recognized anytime soon...

She will try to look like someone who's recently been robbed, whose very clothes, and what little gold she still posesses result solely from vain attemtps at scavenging for survival, and as such will only take as much money as she could have realistically scavanged somewhere. If she's successfully achieved that look, she'll stumble inside the inn looking lost (checking if her Yoki suppressants are still active, which should hide her eye color, and taking more if they're not)

"Uhm... Excuse me...?", she will ask with a gentle, yet mildly shaken tone as she looks for an inkeeper or someone to talk to, in an attempt to inspire pity. Yet before saying anything else she will attempt to get a look at the people, especially the inkeeper, to better analyze what approach to take...

Meredith came to the conclusion that she had to use anything at her disposal to kill the renegades. That included using humans which normally wasn’t a very good idea from the perspective of an Organization warrior who would be held responsible even the cause of human death was indirect. The warrior took out every metal piece of her uniform including her weapons. Now she was left with a torn skin tight white uniform. If it weren’t for her story this might have count as indecent exposure since her left breast was open for view.

When she got out of the dumpster Meredith noticed that the city was quite active. There were still a few hours before midnight, but people were everywhere. Unlike most places the streets were remarkably well lit with lamps. The tavern particularly was booming with customers. The warrior knew this place would be filled with drunkards at this hour yet she could only hope there would be people willing to listen to her. Well with her appearance she’d definitely attract attention. Would it be the type of attention she wanted? That was questionable.

[spoiler=Tavern](Posted Image)[/spoiler]
The moment Meredith opened the door and entered the usual scent of alcohol filled her nose. Those who looked at the entrance upon her arrival first thought she was stripped naked and cut. Only a moment later people noticed the skin tight garment which was badly damaged. A waitress took immediate action and grabbed coat and ran to Meredith. She covered her as patrons protested loudly. The girl glared at them fiercely.

(Posted Image)

”Are you alright sweetie? My name is Tamara. Let’s take you next to the fireplace.” ~Tamara

The short girl led Meredith to the fireplace where the other waitresses pulled the passed out drunkards away. The tavern keeper wasn’t exactly happy about this situation. He had no intention to feed robbed people. At least his guess was that Meredith was mugged considering all the blood on her uniform. And this caused another issue as the waitress noticed something. She checked the bloody spots quickly to confirm her suspicion.

”Hmm... So much blood but no wounds. What happened to you?” ~Tamara

She had a scared, embarassed look on her face as all the drunkards turned to look at her before the girl came and gave her the coat, giving her some measure of decency... Being exposed like that was indeed something that would get her emotional half riled up even further, but deception was a surprisingly soothing relaxant, and she found herself calmer as soon as she started selling her story to the humans at the tavern

"I'm fine; Thank you... My name's Meredith..."

She let the woman lead her towards the fireplace and sat down. She had apparently noticed how she wasn't actually wounded beneath the garment, but Meredith didn't really expect anyone to think that, and wasn't really put off by it.

"I was robbed... Those bandits took everything i had, even my clothes...", she spoke, "I managed to follow them into this city... They didn't even bother to run or hide, or anything at all..."

The way she talked hinted that the robbers in question were by some reason way overconfident, and that the rags she wore was all she could scavenge somewhere. Of course, she'd answer all questions if Tamara asked her directly.

"Please, i have some gold... Is it enough for something to eat?", she said, dropping down the few coins she kept over the table, sounding like she hadn't eaten a warm meal in days.

This was all part of her game, and she hoped soon she'd be able to turn Tamara against the renagedes; after which she'd try to do the same on the town guards (or wait for her to do it)

[ACTIONS]
Perk: Gentle Beauty

Meredith will keep her shaken, innocent youthful demeanor when talking to Tamara, taking advantage from her split mind to prevent her actual emotions from interfering with her performance. She won't sound too eager to share all the unpleasant details of her robery, but will do so if questioned.
If pressed further about the robbery or if a chance for small talk appears, she'll say:

"I'd never seen anything like them... Their eyes were had this intimidating, unnatural silver, like...", she'll cut off mid sentence as if still shaken from the incident, letting Tamara fill in the blanks regarding the thieves being hybrids. If Tamara doesn't fill in the blanks on her own and presses her further, "They were like Claymores, but with cloaks and without the Yoma hunting... It was so sudden, i could hardly notice anything else about them... But i'll never forget those eyes..."

If questioned about her intentions, she will answer:
"My plan was to find the town guard and warn them of a gang of bandits hiding in their midst, and attempt to get at least some of my stuff back... I lost everything i own...", she'll sound like she has no other choice, and for once she'll sound outraged at the incident, the anger outweighting the fear, "I won't let those bastards doom me to living like this!"

If question further about the clothes and gold, she'll openly admit to scavenging
"I found these rags along the road... It was the best i could find... Same for the gold. You'd be surprised how often you can find lost coins around a big city if you bother to look...", she'll answer with a tone of faint surprise.

What Meredith said made Tamara’s eyes open wide in terror. Too much fear for the warrior’s taste considering a simple waitress didn’t have much to fear from hybrids. But everyone had their story and perhaps Tamara had an issue in her past with the warriors of the Organization. This could definitely work in Meredith’s favour since fear was a great tool. The other waitress’ close who heard this began whispering but there were only little hints of fear compared to Tamara’s.

”No need for gold. I’ll get you something to eat.” ~Tamara

Tamara headed to the bar and actually paid for food from her own pocket. The tavern keeper mumbled protests but in the end he said it was her problem and her money. Soon the girl returned with a bowl of soup and some bread. All the slow healing and fighting had made Meredith hungry enough to eat it without forcing herself. When did she eat last time anyway? She estimated four days ago.

”There you go. Now can you tell me the event in detail? If we are to make the guards do something we need strong evidence. Because they don’t like dealing with Claymores, since they are you know... half yoma.” ~Tamara

Meanwhile the tavern door opened and a hobo entered the place. People looked at the poor guy with disdain. Truly he smelled like rotten fish and there was a small family of flies hovering over his head. He had rags on him and was dragging a large sack that seemed to have metals in it considering the sound it made. The tavern keeper this time was going to let things go with the flow.

(Posted Image)

”Get out of here ye flea bag! I ain’t giving you drinks for free anymore. Even my generosity has its limits.” ~Tavern Keeper

”No Harold! I just found good junk! When I sell them I’ll have cash worth for several months!” ~Bob

The homeless scavenger displayed the contents of the sack to Harold the tavern keeper. Meredith and Tamara saw it as well. The guy had picked Meredith’s armour parts and two swords. Indeed those were worth a lot on the market and with the right buyer he could save himself from the streets. Harold nodded as he filled mug with beer. The patrons congratulated Bob while trying to sweet talk him into get advantage of the guy. Tamara on the other hand was scratching her head apparently thinking about this new development.

She ate the soup with a kind, grateful look on her face that still displayed a determination to one day return Tamara the favor:

"Thank you so much... When i have my stuff back, i'll pay you back, i promise."

Meredith took a deep breath following Tamara's request, as if trying to recall a whole painful event down to the last detail. She'd gotten her story straight the few moments it took to remove her armor, so she didn't have to make it up... Delving deep into her acting skills, she immersed herself into her story, and told it spontaneously, recounting events as they'd actually happened...

"I'm a travelling merchant... I was on the road as usual, when these guys wearing cloaks suddenly appear in front of me, out of nowhere, like an ambush... My first thought was turning around but i immediately noticed they were all around me; about 12 of them, all female, all gripping their weapons... One of them approached and demanded i hand over my gold... I did, hoping that they'd settle for that and leave me alone. But they didn't. Another one of them started messing with the bags strapped to my horse and proposed they take that too. I begged them not to, but they just shoved me off the horse... I was ruined at that moment, so i pleaded and begged them not to to take everything... I even grabbed one of their cloaks... She didn't like that", she looked more and more disturbed and frightened as she delved into the details, as if remembering brought back the fear she felt, "But it didn't matter... All i got was that same woman looking at my clothes and remarking on how they looked rather expensive... I know they did that just to humiliate me, because it wasn't really that valuable... She just looked at me with those frightening eyes said i was lucky they left me alive... I was lucky they didn't do... anything else..."

As she finished her story, she noticed the homeless man walk in, and the moment he mentioned he'd found something, she knew she should have hidden her stuff better. Still, it's not like she expected a scavenger to prowl through garbage on that exact time. Her supressed emotional side just wanted to beat up the guy for being an annoyance, and her rational side knew she only had a short time before he disappeared with her stuff. Still, she couldn't break character over something like this, and she wouldn't...

"Seriously? Are you seriously gonna give me that extra work now? I swear, if you scatter my stuff to the four winds, you're gonna pay for that shit with blood..."

She gave a slight, innocent look of curiosity towards him as she finished her meal, which changed to a wide frightened expression when he revealed the two Greatswords, like she'd grown to associate those weapons like those with a really bad memory...

"They had swords just like those... Like Claymores do...", she muttered to Tamara, "One even carried two of them... Another carried a huge claw. It's not something that easy to hide... Don't you know anyone who might have noticed any shady characters, particularly some women carrying large items on their backs?"

Meredith attempted to steer Tamara towards the idea that those swords and equipment belonged to one of the bandits, who stashed it away in order to hide. It was a plausible idea, after all... She wants Tamara to think that it was her idea, so she'll believe it more easily. Meredith doesn't care if they stash her gear under lock and key, even if its in a nearly inaccecible evidence locker. What she doesn't want is her stuff scattered to the four winds...

Perk: gentle beauty

If Tamara openly suggests what Meredith expects her too, she'll just answer with what seems to be concern for the homeless man:

"He should give hand that over to the town guard, or at the very least put it back where he found it... The owner of that equipment isn't gonna be happy once she finds out it's missing."

If Tamara doesn't suggest it, and doesn't give any ideas on shady characters, particularly if she doesn't say anything about them carrying large items; Meredith will simply widen her look of fear as she just realized something awful...

"I just had a thought... What if they hide those weapons when in town...? To avoid attention... That would mean those swords... Likely belong to one of them... We should turn them to the guard as evidence..."

If questioned on what she was doing travelling around, she'll provide some more insight regarding her profession:

"I deal with curio items, trinkets, antiques, that sort of stuff. I buy stuff off people to sell it at a profit somewhere else. Some its just junk, but some pieces are rather valuable..."

Tamara at first was glad that this girl was kind and knew her manners. It wasn’t like she’d accept the payment since it was helping someone in need. But as Meredith told the story her smile broke down slowly. The warrior got the feeling that she wasn’t buying it at all. More than that when she described the renegades Tamara showed clear signs that could be translated as “I know these guys...” Tamara returned the empty bowl to the kitchen then quickly returned to Meredith’s side.

”Come with me, please. I’ll lend you some clothes.” ~Tamara

The maid pulled her away. She was rather forceful. Not to mention rather strong. Too strong... Meredith felt she was being dragged without being able to resist effectively. Upstairs in an unoccupied room Tamara dressed Meredith in maid uniform. Surprisingly it was a good fit and despite the look it was a lot better than the torn white uniform under cloak of some unknown drunk customer.

[spoiler=Meredith](Posted Image)[/spoiler]
Suddenly Meredith noticed Tamara had locked the door. She had a very serious face, borderline scary. The warrior was now pretty sure this girl was in no way human. Right now the only issue was which kind of non-human was Tamara?

”Your story, I don’t buy. I know those hybrids and as much as I dislike them, they are not common bandits. Now be a nice girl and tell me the truth!” ~Tamara

While she was being led up the stairs, Meredith had the feeling Tamara was more than just human; that strength wasn't really natural... It didn't seem like she was too eager to buy her story either, which could only mean that either Meredith was a far worse actress than she believed, or Tamara knew the people she described... Dressing up like a maid was something she wasn't really confortable with (more like it pissed her off), but at least she had a chance to groom her hair and face, giving her a chance to look pretty again (vanity was mildly soothing apparently, giving her emotional half something else to worry about), which she did as she was getting dressed.

"Thank you...", she said again, now with a more shaken tone, which spread to her overall expression when the questioning started.

Knowing who those people were could only mean that she too was indeed a non-human, yet that didn't stop emotional Meredith from giving her a mental frustrated eyeroll... She may be on to her lie but that didn't mean she saw through her act... And Meredith for one wasn't going to break it... She just had to make the reason for lying itself seem credible, and given that a lot of it was actually true, it might actually not be as hard as it sounded.

"Bandits or not; There's actually more truth to it than you'd imagine... They did ambush me, they did attack me, and they did take something i'm willing to do anything to retrieve.", while she didn't break her gentle outlook yet, she kept her expression focused and determined, "They have my comrades, and i'm not going away without them..."

She will pause for a moment to view Tamara's reaction and help determine the best course to take... She'd been trying to present herself as gentle, resourceful and stubborn; all of which she truly was except for the first (sometimes), so it wasn't really lying.

[ACTIONS]

If Tamara questions on her motive for the charade, she'll attempt to play on the fact of her also being pretending to be human in an attempt to draw some sympathy and understanding...

"This really isn't a hybrid friendly city, is it? I needed information regarding these people, and i didn't expect anyone to openly talk to me unless i they thought i was just human...", she'll answer with a faint smile

If she keeps being pressed further and further regarding why was she in the city in the first place, Meredith will answer without actually saying she worked for the Organization, but giving more than enough hints:

"Someone orders a yoma hunt, they send us in... You know that something is wrong when instead of Yoma you find a bunch of hybrids lying in ambush. I couldn't care less about their angle; my priority is retrieving my team, anything else is secondary. But in order to do that on my own, i needed as much information as i could get..."

Should Tamara accurately figure out who she works for and not turn hostile, she'll comment:

"And that stuff down there are my weapons and armor by the way..."

Should Tamara turn hostile, Meredith will attempt to dodge attacks by stepping aside, resorting to parry with her hands and forearms if that's not enought. Should an attack come with swords, Meredith will focus the parrying on Tamara's arms or the side of her blades, and use any obstacles in the room to her advantage.

Telling all that allowed Tamara to confirm Meredith’s identity. She could guess why it happened. When Tamara pressed further in the questioning the warrior told her that they arrived on a request for yoma hunt. There were yoma in the city, Tamara knew that all too well, but no one had been eaten carelessly. So far the few cases had been covered as wild animal attacks or kidnapping. Those girls really were spoiling the peaceful environment in Gomahl by pulling this stunt.

”Alright I’ll get your weapons, but if you even alert the city to the presence of non-humans I’ll gut you personally. Got it?” ~Tamara

Tamara walked in circles in the room trying to figure out something. A minute later she hit her fist on her palm. It was clear she had a plan. The girl turned to Meredith again with a serious expression.

”I’ll be back soon with your swords. Don’t move out of this room.” ~Tamara

The girl then moved out of the room with haste. Meredith could hear her footsteps as she descended down the stairs. Now left alone in a locked room what would Meredith do? She had no definite clue as to what Tamara was exactly. Not to mention trusting her had its risks. What if she was ratting her out to the renegades? She knew them after all.

Apparently Tamara wasn't too happy with the shennanigans those Renegades had decided to pull off... Either that or she was going to warn them. But then again, on supressants as she was Meredith could hardly fight anything, so if Tamara wanted to kill her, she'd be better off doing so...

"Allright...", Meredith just answered

Still, the possibility that she was going to alert the Renegades couldn't be discarded, in which case she needed to be ready for a quick escape. Meredith simply moved by the window. She wasn't ready to jump out or anything, she was simply standing there, in what appeared to just random walking around...

[ACTIONS]
Skills: Sharpsword

When Tamara returns; if Meredith sees her being followed by others, she'll reflexively move closer to the window. If any of those people attempt to attack her, she'll attempt to shatter the glass with her fist and forearm (using Sharpsword motion if necessary), jumping out throught it to dodge the attack. If she does jump out the window, she will attempt to move herself so she lands on her feet, or at the very least avoid landing head first...
She'll follow this course of action if Tamara herself attacks her... If her attacker seems to intend to follow her, Meredith will instead make her way inside the bar again calmly, as if nothing happened, in an attempt to use the witnesses to prevent her assailants from doing anything else.

Meredith stood close to the windows as she waited for Tamara to return. In fact from the window she saw the maid taking Bob with her out of the tavern. Then they both disappeared from sight. The warrior didn’t have to imagine too hard on what was going to happen. Meredith waited for about half an hour until she heard familiar footsteps. Tamara opened the door and threw herself on the bed. She was holding the sack in her right hand.

”There you are. God my stomach hurts... Low quality food is low quality indeed... /e3 ” ~Tamara

Tamara slowly got up from the bed and handed the swords to Meredith. The armours weren’t there but it didn’t matter much at this point. The maid wasn’t feeling very well. She sat on the bed with her face red. Tamara was sheepishly staring at Meredith. For some reason the warrior thought Tamara could fall asleep any moment.

”So what’s your plan now /? Remember, I don’t want humans starting a witch hunt or guards occupying the streets and searching everywhere.” ~Tamara

What happened next and the time it took very well hinted that Tamara was either a Yoma or an Awakened Being... Given how single minded Yoma tend to be, she figured Awakened One to be the more likely option... Eventually she came back, bearing Meredith's equipment (what really mattered anyways)

"So we don't tell them... Instead we go in by ourselves with a surgical strike... I need to know how many they are, their average power level, and their methods. We then use stealth to our advantage and retrieve my team cleanly.", she answered, explained her plan calmly; after which she openly asked Tamara about her knowledge of the Renegades, "How much do you know about these people?"

She really didn't look too hot. Guess eating the guts of a diseased, parasite ridden homeless guy isn't really healthy, even for a non human monster... While they discussed the plan, Meredith looked around for a large cloth, or anything she could possibly use to strap her sword to her back... So far she hadn't had the necessity to break her act and that was good thing. She'd keep it up as long as possible, and save the revealing of her true nature when it could prove more beneficial...

[ACTIONS]
Perks: both beauty perks

Meredith will keep discussing the plan with Tamara, giving what little information she has and taking in what she has to offer. If after the exchange they still lack the information to safely conduct a mildly successful gerilla battle without alerting the local authroties, Meredith will turn her attention towards an alternative source of information:

"You wouldn't happen to know anyone who's close to these women? Someone who could provide the rest of the information we need..."

If Tamara asks her about what she intends to do with the Renegades, she'll openly admit that her intentions after retrieving her team is to kill them all, but won't sound like she's hellbent on this path, but merely considers the only alternative:

"We use the same combination of stealth and surgical strikes to pick them off one by one. If you want them gone without alerting the citizens, guerilla warfare is the only way to be sure.", she'll avoid the obviously hypocritic pity when discussing their deaths, which would seem wierd given what they'd done to her so far, but she won't sound or look delighted at having to follow this path.

Should the maid argue with another course of action, Meredith will provide arguments she used to defend this choice:

"If warriors vanish when they're not supposed to, Organization SOP usually involves sending high level warriors to either retrieve or eliminate the missing ones, sometimes clean up whatever killed them... If they come in here and those girls are still in, it will be a bloodbath, one way or another... So we either take them out ourselves, using the knowledge of the city to our advantage, or we get them to leave it.", she'll explain, "Even if I were to leave with my team and lie to the Organization, what guarantees do you have that they won't pull this stunt again? In the end, the best way to protect this city and it's inhabitants is to remove them before they can do any damage; and by using your knowledge of the city alongside stealth, we can do this without even destabilizing the city at all."

If Tamara's sickly air persists throughout their entire exchange, Meredith will display sympathy towards her, going as far as putting a hand on her forehead if she looks feverish.

"You really don't look too good... Are you okay?", she'll ask with a tone of caring concern. SHould their exchange be complete and Tamara look to sick to join Meredith in her "mission", she will help her lay on the bed to rest, "Lay back; I can deal with this... Please trust me..."

Meredith had guessed correctly. Tamara was an awakened being and she had devoured Bob just now to take away the swords from the scavenger. Currently Tamara’s struggle was a different one, which she was keeping under control so far. Bob was indeed a horrible meal by all standards, almost rivalling yoki tainted flesh. Meredith kept on telling her plans. There was something amiss though about the way the Organization warrior was speaking though...

”Hold your horses! Who told you I’ll be helping you? You are on your own against the ismenniki. I may not like them, but it doesn’t mean I want to put myself in trouble with them.” ~Tamara

The warrior noticed the word Tamara used. It wasn’t something she knew. Perhaps name of the group? Although she did speak it normally without emphasis. Only this time it was apparent. Tamara definitely was speaking with an accent that Meredith never heard before. The awakened being was slowly recovering from the bad food. She got up and headed to the door. Still Tamara felt the need to give Meredith some information.

”I’ll just tell you this. Avoid the one with the claws if you are alone. Also I don’t know about the sleeve blades one, she must be a new member. Remember I’ll get you if you cause a ruckus in the city.” ~Tamara

With that the maid left the room with the door open. Now Meredith was on her own. Since she couldn’t sense yoki her knowledge on the locations of those she sensed earlier was outdated. She had to plan and act. Each moment passing could make renegades more impatient.

-------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: For convenience I’ll tell it here, Tamara is talking with Russian accent.

"Right...", she answered, faking a certain unease at being forced to handle a whole crew alone, but apparently that didn't do anything to persuade Tamara, "Thanks for the info. See ya..."

Now alone, she was left to her thoughts. She made a mental note to question her next target on that starnge word Tamara used, to remember if she found someone else with the same accent. The only time Meredith remembered handling a whole group on her own was mere Yoma, so this was defenitely new territory. The renegades would be looking for her now... If so, they'd probably scatter to widen the search grid. The easiest, quickest way to acquire the information she needed was to get it from one of the enemies. The little information Tamara gave could be used for that purpose.

"I need to get to high ground...", she thought

She hoped these renegades wouldn't be expecting an ambush. If she used the roof she could probably avoid unwanted attention from the town guard (a maid carrying two giant swords isnt exactly stealthy), and use it as a vantage point to help spot the renegades. It could be troublesome if they were also searching for her using the rooftops, or worse, expect her to do so, but even then it was safer than moving down below where she could easily be ambushed from above...

[ACTIONS]
Skills: Eagle eye (no Yoki mode; Vantage point)

Meredith will open the window, and look around to make sure no one is nearby, if so she'll wait. Once there isn't anyone on the streets to notice her, she will use the window to climb onto the rooftop of the inn, and move from rooftop to rooftop until she's high enough to move around freely.
She will move stealthily, using the shadows to hide her, and attempting to use her enhanced eyesight to help compensante for her less than stellar hiding ability, by spotting threats (such as guards or renegaes) preemptively, both on the streets or on the roof, and hide appropriately. She'll be keeping an eye on virtually every location, trying to take in as many information as possible in a short amount of time to diminish the chances of being detected, using her knowledge of tracking to look for things that are "off", such as things that are where they shouldn't be or vice versa. If she sees something interesting, she will find a place or a shadow to hide and get a better look. If she spots a lone renegade she'll stalk her quietly, to look for a location for an ambush.

While moving through the rooftops, if nothing interesting appears in a while, she'll search for the highest vantage points, starting with the ones close by (Youth park) and make her way there to scout (focusing on cathedral). Afterwards if she still finds nothing interesting, she'll slowly head southeast towards the last place she sensed Rebecca, keeping a careful eye out for ambushes or renegade scouts.

The plan was decided. Meredith wanted to take a general look of this part of the city from a high place. The renegades should have out and looking for her. It had been an hour since her team had been ambushed. Making sure that no one was around, Meredith slipped out of the window and climbed up the roof. Thankfully in the night time spotting such things was difficult by people far off. Once on top of the roof Meredith noticed the single renegade was still patrolling around the town square north of the inn.

The warrior moved on top of roofs. She was lucky that there were no other renegade in the route towards the park. However that single renegade was blocking the path to the Youth Park from ground and there was no roof access to that place. Thus Meredith was forced to take the long route and climb the hill south of the park. In fact this gave a better result as she was definitely on higher ground than she’d be in the park. From her location she could see another renegade patrolling the docks. It was a good idea actually. Escaping the city through sea was a fine option, but rescuing comrades came first.

(Posted Image)

When she focused her attention on the cathedral where Rebecca’s yoki was last sensed, Meredith saw a most strange structure. The building was like out of a story book. Unfortunately the warrior failed to spot the two renegade signatures she sensed earlier. They were probably in the cathedral with Rebecca. It was then Meredith saw something even more interesting. An angel flying above the sea....

(Posted Image)

The warrior wasn't sure on the identity of this one. She could be a hybrid, awakened being, or even a flying yoma in disguise. Without ability to sense yoki she couldn't tell. The angel circled around a few times then returned back to the island where the cathedral was. After landing she entered the building from a strange location. It was certainly not the front door. Meredith couldn’t get a good look at it since her current position wouldn’t allow it, but she had a rough estimation of the location where this entrance was.

----------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: Please be more specific with locations on map. “Vantage points near Youth Park” is quite insufficent.

Meredith was able to detect some of the targets (at least one of them felt like a target). She intended to head inside the Cathedral and start working on breaking out Rebecca; yet, there was just a tiny problem. If the Renegades were the least bit able to sense Yoki, they must have realize hers vanished, and should figure out the quickest way for that to happen would be to take a supression pill. In that case, they'd also know she'd be unable to sense Yoki and would have planned accordingly. It seemed a rather brain dead decision to just leave the prisioners where they were knowing the chances she'd try to break them out. It felt more logical to move the prisioners (if they're still being kept prisioner) and set up ambushes at those sites. It didn't take a stellar IQ to plan that far...

"At least that's what i'd do...", she thought, turning back towards the renegade she'd seen earlier, watching him carefully, like a predator stalking its prey.

There was no real way to know this is what they'd do; there was also the possibility of them assuming she'd think that way, but if Meredith followed down that assumption it would be random choice. It was better to factor the possibility that they'd follow the logical course of action and plan accordingly, in which case, squeezing that Renegade at the square for information was the best way to go, lessening the chances of being ambushed at the cathedral...

[ACTIONS]
Skills: Eagle eye (No yoki, vantage point)

Meredith will focus on the renegade on the square, observing it's patterns, to discern whether he's following a preset patrol route our scouting randomly. If it's the first, she'll attempt to memorize and follow it, if it's the latter, she'll actively focus on stalking the enemy. While scouting, Meredith will plan an escape exit, complete with a hiding space where she can hopefully hide if she's detected and her target manages to alert others (and hide a body once she's through with her witness)

She will be focused on attempting to counteract her less than stellar ability to hide by using her enhanced eyesight to watch the Renegade carefully, and attempt to position herself in a rooftop roughly above her, positioned so she can drop down upon her for a sneak attack. Meredith will attempt to neutralize the flaws in her sneaking skills by moving preferrably when her target is either also moving or distracted with something. To hide, she'll use the shadows to her advantage, always trying to stay concealed by them, and watching the pattern of the light surrounding her so she avoids projecting a shadow that can be seen, or stepping in front of light entirely, thus clearly revealing her position.
To avoid making sounds she'll move very slowly, one foot at a time, placing the front of the foot down first, so she can feel if she's stepping on anything that could make a noise, pulling her foot back if that happens. If she needs to move from roof to roof, she'll attempt to find something to move across as opposed to leaping, and if she's forced into a leap (her target moving away from her line of sight, or if there's no other way to move closer), she'll do so at the tiniest gap avaliable, and attempt to land in a smooth surface to avoid noises. She'll also be very careful with her shoes if she finds them louder than they should be...
She'll also be on the lookout for the wind speed and variations to avoid placing herself in a way that the wind blows from her to the enemy, allowing her to detect Meredith by scent should her nose be keen enough.

She will keep on with this stalking pattern until she manages to isolate the Renegade into a dark alley or some closed space with no witnesses that could allow for a sneak attack and reasonably lengthy interrogation with lower chances of getting caught (an alley with a dumpster or something to hide the Renegade being the ideal). If she gets the enemy's attention but isn't spotted, she'll slowly start retreating towards her escape site, staying hidden until the Renegade gives up. If he doesn't and/or calls his friends and/or becomes outright alert to her presence, she'll follow the escape route to the letter and hide until the heat dies down.

Meredith had seen enough. More information had to be gathered and the one who’d provide her with such was the renegade in the square. From what the warrior could see at first glance was the renegade moving randomly around the square. Man stood in front of her and began talking, then left. Considering Gomahl’s attitude towards hybrids she must have been using pills to hide her identity.

It was high time that Meredith went down the hill and approached the renegade. She went down and continued on the roofs towards her prey. From above she observed the renegade. Something was off, but Meredith couldn’t put her finger on it. Was she moving around with a heavy burden or something? Also what was with the random wandering in the square? Nevertheless she entered an alley and the warrior was waiting for her. Luck wasn’t favouring Meredith however...

”Who is there?” ~Renegade

Moonlight was being a bitch. The renegade had seen her and Meredith saw the renegade’s face. She was using pills after all. Brown dyed hair was a nice touch too as most renegades were following this tactic these days. The renegade drew her sword, which licked the ground as she held it tightly with both arms. She looked really scared though...

Away from its pack, the would be predator had become the prey... Her prey... She followed the Renegade from above... Indeed neither humans nor hybrids ever bother to look above. Still, the Renegade wasn't entirely devoid of eyesight and the moonlight was making her life difficult. No matter... She wasn't the sneaky type, and as such hiding wouldn't get her much further than this. If anything it could give the girl a chance to escape and alert her friends. No, this was time to strike...

"You asked for it...", she spoke, not loudly, but exactly silently enough that the Renegade would be unable to hear her, "You got it..."

Without any hesitation or outwards display of emotion, she leaped down to intercept her information...

[ACTIONS]
Skills: Sharpsword
Perk: Teenage Beauty

Meredith will drop down the rooftop into the renegade's position, from the side that more easily blocks her escape from the alley, attacking with a downwards strike with her dominant left sword, trying to make the attack flashy and intimidating to take advantage of the fear of her opponent, activating her Sharpsword. At last moment she'll shift her aim to the side in an attempt to simply cleave off one of the girl's arms instead of outright killing her.
She will drop down reasonably close to the walls so that if the Renegade suddenly decides to attempt to attack her preemptively, Meredith will use the walls as an aid to dodging in mid-air, kicking herself off slighly in a different direction to avoid the attack, using her right handed sword as backup to block the attack if dodging doesn't work. If she's forced to defend in mid-air, she'll stay on target and attempt to perform her attack as a counter.

Once Meredith's down on the ground, regardless of whether her attack hide, she'll keep her momentum going at all costs by immediately dashing forwads and attempting to attack with a follow-up horizontal strike, activating her Sharpsword mid-dash. Meredith's attack will be aimed chest level, but she will feint and strike low in an attempt to remove one (or both) of her opponent's legs.

If attacked on the ground, Meredith will attempt dodge backwards, and deliver her dashing attack as soon as she sees an opening. Should the Renegade put too much pressure on her and not allow the attack, or starting to push her out of the alley, Meredith will resort to parrying in an attempt to get her opponent's sword out of the way for her own attack. If this happens, instead of targeting the legs at mid range, she'll attack the opponent's sword arm with a vertical downwards Sharpsowrd.

She'll be on the lookout for the narrow space of the alley when striking, shifting her horizontal sword moves diagonally if there's not enough room, and attempt to use this factor to her advanatge by staying with her back close to the wall, so her enemy's missed attacks end up hitting the wall and leaving a wide opening. Before (preferrably) and while fighting, she'll study an escape route she can use to get back to the rooftops in a pinch...

After her first two attacks, if she at least managed to intimidate her opponent, she'll attempt to persuade her into backing down:

"You might wanna stand down and answer my questions... I'm just saying, it would probably be better for you.", she'll say with a cold, yet not hostile expression, like she has no choice but to do this, "Or else i might have to get serious."

There was no hesitation or emotion in Meredith when it was needed most. She’d learn that rushed plans do fail people often. Like the predator she was Meredith jumped down on the renegade in the alley. The poor thing tried to counter but she couldn’t lift her sword. Meredith cut her arm which resulted in a scream. Now this would attract a lot of attention. She was bleeding an awful lot that it disturbed even Meredith. There was a few disturbing things about this renegade which she didn’t take into account. The sword was clearly too heavy for her and every claymore was trained to fight while holding that massive sword with one hand. There was something terribly wrong here.

”She said I’d be alright.... It hurts... Arrrghh!!...” ~Human Girl

Now it was a lot clearer. Meredith had fallen into a trap. Why would a renegade go roundabout in a square where a yoma hating population was still on the streets? Not to mention a man had spoken to her and left without any sort of problems. Now Meredith had an armless human losing a lot of blood. A few people had already gathered at the end of the alley. The scene was pretty clear for them.

”Murder! Call the guards!” ~Citizen

”Claymores? Is she a half yoma!?” ~Citizen

”Be careful she might kill us too!” ~Citizen

It was then Meredith heard a most familiar sound. Sabatons hitting the ground monotonically... A silver eyed and silver haired warrior appeared behind the crowd. Despite her uniform Meredith recognized her as one of the renegades who attacked her team. Right now she was the renegade who mortally wounded a human and the outlaw was the hunter of the Organization. The tables had turned swiftly.

(Posted Image)

”Don’t you have any honour!? Even when you leave the Organization one should not harm humans. You are disgrace that should be executed!” ~Isabella

”Damn Claymores... This is all you monsters’ fault!” ~Citizen

”I claim responsibility of her actions. The girl’s blood is on my hands. Treat her wound while I punish that wretched being. I, Isabella, number 47 of the Organization, will carry out this execution of the criminal who assaulted a human with deadly force.” ~Isabella

”Tsk, you better clean this mess!” ~Citizen

The renegade charged in and hit Meredith with great force. The warrior blocked it but she was blown away to the end of the alley. The citizens around immediately rushed to the wounded girl’s aid. Meredith had broken through the wall and was now out of the alley. The renegade was getting closer and she was fast....

Wow this girl was dumb... Someone gives her a huge sword and tells her to walk around the square, and she does it. Neither her nor Meredith herself ever saw that coming, which by extent probably made her an idiot as well... Of course even a newbie wouldn't be this scared, or this bad in holding her own sword... But the mistake was done. She had attacked a human, her handlers weren't going to like that, much less if she ended up dying. This only renewed Meredith's determination to kill all of these Renegades. If the Organization intended to execute her for this, she'd make these fuckers pay a hundred times over... Starting with the little bitch impersonating an Organization warrior.

"The so called ismenniki use human meatshields... Fine, i can work with that...", she observed, giving into her bloodlust and getting ready for a serious fight, "You realize that little stunt leaves me with nothing to lose right?"

Indeed, there is nothing more dangerous than a doomed warrior, with a single minded desire to extract revenge those who doomed her... Meredith's strong will allowed her to quickly adapt and accept what seemed like a likely outcome, and instead focus on that desire for revenge, the only thing her emotional side now clamored for, even as she slipped into her bloodlust side. She tilted her head, licking her lips with a psycho expression...

"Now, im gonna take all of you to hell with me...", she said with a grin, getting ready to meet her attacker.

[ACTIONS]
Skills: Sharpsword, Final Blast
Perk: Bloodlust
YA: 20 to ASPD (depending on the way the fight goes)

Meredith will stand her ground, gripping both swords tightly... She will attempt to quickly judge her opponent's strength and assess her own ability to fight her without using any Yoki. Unless she sees any possibility of that happening without taking serious damage to herself, she'll be ready to break the supression pill and fight normally.

When her opponent moves closer, Meredith will defend by dodging (according to direction of the attack), while attempting to parry the attack itself upwards (right hand), while simultaneously countering with her left sword, concealing a Sharpsword and striking with a horizontal attack at waist level. She will not aim to cleave her enemy in two but simply deal incapacitating damage and prevent her from fighting further. She will focus on performing the simple two hadned move correctly and with decent coordination, so she doesn't get in the way of her own attacks. Should she have deemed it unlikely to succeed in defeating her without Yoki, she will activate Final Blast (full) for her defense counter move.

If the counter is successful and she manages to put the Renegade on the defensive, she will dash forwards, striking with a powerful downwards Sharpsword, aiming to cut off one arm, and follow up with another Sharpsword with her right hand, to remove her other arm.
Depending on the success of her attacks, Meredith will alter this course of action accordingly. If her defense counter was effective, she will fight by releasing yoki normally. If it wasn't effective on account of her opponent being just too fast, she'll release complete Final Blast again, and attack with Rush sword, attempting to trap the Renegade inside the technique to follow with with a normal Yoki release and Heaven Piercer strike with the same hand, keeping her offhand ready for defense.

Should Meredith's initial defense fail miserably, and she be forced into defense again, she'll use both swords for defense while dodging, again using Final Blast, and attempt to attack on her own without countering...

She'll attempt to leave Isabelle alive, but crippled, and should Meredith sucessfully incapacitate her, she'll pick her up and take her away, taking a supression pill and force feeding her one as well. If this happens Meredith will retreat southeast through alleys and rooftops, and find a place to lay low and interrogate her.
