It's the pamphlet you get in the mail, the kind of place parents give a sigh of relief at seeing. A school in the midst of the mountains. Far from distraction for their gifted children. A place far from trouble for the creative mind and the troubled youth.

But Raven View is the last place on earth they would send their children,

...if they knew what lurked here.

Built 200 years ago by Christoph Sager, Raven View was at first a safe haven for his pawns. A place for him to piddle and plot without letting the world know just what he was up to. As humans shrunk the world with their fear, it soon became a haven for anyone who wasn't human...or anyone who allied themselves with them.

Over the years, as the "other kind" learned to adapt to world rife with humans, Raven View transformed, becoming a teaching ground for those who had to learn to navigate this human infested earth safely. To put their technique to the test, normal humans are admitted to this prestige institution. Making it a perfect breeding ground for nothing but trouble.

And in Christoph's eyes, the perfect place to recruit chess precess. After all, Chess pieces are often taken. You need new one's at some point. Raven View is not short of it's political wilds. It is here most governing bodies have chosen to reside, hiding their true nature in a world that can understand them. It wasn't too long ago that the school gave life to a town, one that has become a monster of it's own.
