Some say the world will end infire/ Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire / I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice / I think I know enough of hate To know that for destruction ice / Is also great / And would suffice.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT READ THE BOOK!!!!
ehm.... lets see, i think that i like eowyn more cause she is in the book and in the movie....arwen is mentioned like twice in the books... also i think that they were mean to that story cause she was supposed to end up with faramir...
I adored Eowyn all the time in the book... I loved her and couldn't wait to see whom they casted... and Miranda is so perfect for her... so wonderful...
admittedly at first I hated Arwen *lol* because she was all over the place and kissing aragorn and all... but admittedly... through TTT and finally in RotK i can't hate her anymore... that scene when she sees her son and Viggo... and all... she is wonderful...
But I like Eowy better she is so brave and my all time favorite scene...

Arwen, all the way I don't like Eowyn, I never have, I don't know why though, lol. Sure, Eowyn's the "brave ans strong" one, but honestly, I think that Arwen just as brave, if not braver. She gives up her immortality for God's sake! Now that's pretty brave. Eowyn's all "Life's unfair, I wan't to be brave and die!" Uh, no. Hehe. I love Arwen's character.
Yeah... but also she is like the essance of a woman... because we are strong but normally not really for ourselves.
And she turns into a weak insecure girl almost facing her dream man... I dunno she is great!
And she get's cutre Faramir in the end...
But it's true Arwen is more for Aragorn... It is not only tradition, but also, I dunno she is more kingly... More... equal to him...
But I really don't get that fact of the movie... at first in FotR...
She says she gives her immortality to Aragorn... but before she gives it to Frodo?! And then in RotK her life is suddenly bound to the ring... WTF?! I really don't get that mortality/immortality thing she's got going there...

3 cheers for Eowyn and for all the other ladies out there who kick but.
Arwen is very nice looking POINT
And eowyn gets Faramir (the faramir from the book (the one in the movies s*cks) is my prince charming, so if you'd ever meet somebody like that, wrap him up and send him to my adress) anyway Faramir is perfect (or at least great) and so is his lady.

Between the two, my favourite is definately Eowyn...though I do like Arwen as well...I was somewhat crushed that they didn't show Eowyn and Faramir getting together in the movie..cause that is one of my favourite parts of the book.
I read the appendix that mentions the story of Arwen and Aragorn..it is also very sweet..but yeah, I still was confused in the movie with her mortality/immortality stuff...it seemed to shift around a bit too much.
I think I like Eowyn because she is more real - not as perfect as Arwen...and she feels the pain of unrequitted love, which I think everyone can appreciate. She is so strong and brave (yes..Arwen is as well).
I think the casting for both roles was spot on. Kudos to the casting agents.

Eowyn!
She and Faramir are my favorite characters from the book.
I love that Eowyn is so cold and sad... and then when she meets Faramir they fall in love... wonderful and classic!
But I also love that Eowyn is a warrior woman... the only strong woman in the books... or well Galadriel is strong too... Yeah I like Galadriel too even tough she is a bit scary...

ARWEN!!! I love Arwen and I love Liv. I know alot of people were kinda upset about her having such a big part in the movies than in the books, but Arwen rocked in the movie.

Arwen! Arwen! Arwen! She's incredible even though in the book appears like a full character only in the appendices. Her sacrifice of immortality for the one she loves is so beautiful. And I guess she's closer to me than Eowyn anyway and that's why I like her. Though Eowyn is a great lass as well. But my preferences are with the elflady of Rivendell

I like them both. Eowyn shows womens independance. Showing were just as good as any man.
Arwen is the beautiful princess type character. And her and Aragorn... Awww! Even though Eowyn had heroic struggle, didn't Arwen also struggle? She chose a mortal life... But who could blame her. I would do the same if I was that in love.
Galadriel is a interseting character too. Equally as beautiful as Arwen and Eowyn. She comes across as wise and I think her scarier edge made me like her more.
Much Love, Louise.
