Dust to Dust
Twenty miles outside of town, I kneel down in the grass.
Running my hands along the name etched in stone.
Both of blood, her and me.
She the older, I the younger.
Yet she is frozen for eternity
Never to become more than what
She has always been….
But dust.

So precious,
Eyes of blue like mine.
Hair of gold, and cheeks rosy red.
I shall grow and love
And marry.
And she shall watch from heaven above,
Wise beyond my knowledge.
Someday too….
She shall be free.

For her now,
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

Where have all the flowers gone?
They seem to wilt away as I walk through the grass.
What happened to the skies of blue?
Drifting away as grey clouds pass?
And I’m just a soul, slipping away
With no control of what happens day by day.
I’m just a cry full of despair.
When I need you most you aren’t there.

Where did all the angels go?
Why can I not hear their joyful song?
Is there a reason life’s so hard?
And why aren’t people missed until they’re gone?
Once again…

I’m just a soul, drifting away
With no control of where I go
As grey clouds pass…


Love in a Bottle
Here lie my final words to you my love…
A message in a bottle cast to sea
In hopes that Aphrodite from above
Shall someday bring my love back home to me.

Watching my desperate message sail away
To distant lands that I shall never see,
Begging Poseidon don’t let him betray
My love. Please, send my life back home to me.

Mother Ocean, please see my desperate state!
And Aphrodite, hear my desperate plea!
No longer can I live nor shall I wait
For death without my love beside the sea.

I can no longer see the setting sun
I feel this barren love has just begun…

I'm tired of suicide;
People trying to run and hide
behind a cut or a scar.
They don't want to die
but a slight false move,
and it could easily go that far.

Use your brain, It works you know.
Please,
Don't do something so rash.
With one clean blade
and a flick of the wrist,
your life could end with a slash.
