The idea is simple: describe a scene to make people laugh.
Here are the "rules" of the game:

1. Your Picture This! scene will be Lord of the Rings-related. (It will involve an existing character or characters, or a movie scene)
2. The scene will involve music in some way. Prerferably a well-known song that everyone will reognize, but it certainly doesn't have to be. A song can be sung by a character, the lyrics can be used as dialog, it can be background music, etc. It's up to you.
3. This is meant to be funny and entertaining, there is no offense intended--towards the actors, characters, or anybody else.
4. Have fun everyone! Just reading these should be fun, but really slowing down and actually picturing them in your head is best.

I'm not much of a writer, but to kick things off:

Picture this!
Mirkwood Forest. All is quiet. Then wind rustles the leaves. ... a faint sound reaches your ears. It seems to be music, but it's too faint to make out at first. ... slowly, slowly it grows clearer. Suddenly, Legolas enters the scene from stage-left. He's dressed in brilliantly shining, silver clothing, fit for an Elven prince. You've discovered the source of the music.

Legolas is dancing.

And he's singing:

"I'm too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt
So sexy it hurts.
And I'm too sexy for Rohan, too sexy for Rohan
The Shire, Ithil-ien...

Oh my goodness, this is a brilliant game, and I could definitely picture that! Ok ok, I have one...and a picture, yayness:

Picture this -
Imagine the Fellowship as their elven boats gently float down the peaceful Anduin. Their mission is at the front of everyone's mind, yet they also take in the scenery around them. Lorien is truly a beautiful place, with trees as far as the eye can see and clear, grey-blue water flowing underneath them, taking them to their destination. When at last, they near the mighty statues of the two kings, holding their hands out as if to prevent them from going any further. But what is this? Music? The hobbits, Gimli, Boromir, and Legolas all cast puzzled looks at Aragorn, but he has no more idea than they. They strain their ears to hear, as if the very statues were singing themselves:

Stop! in the name of love

Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Think it over
Think it over

(is it ok that I actually had a picture? I thought it was funnier so that you could see the stances of the statues, haha)

This is brilliant.

I remember I was watching FOTR with Felonaz once and she related to me how every time that part came on, her aunt would break out in "Stop! In the name of love. Before you break my heart."

Teehee, I like that! Good one Celandine! I can picture the confusion on everybody's faces in that situation too... right after Aragorn gets done telling Frodo about how much he's wanted to "look upon the kings."

The singing kings. *smirk*

Haha, I'm glad you guys were amused by that one. I've got another (since no one else has had an idea lately).

Picture this:

Rivendell lies quiet in the calm night, save for the woodland creatures living around the palace, singing their happiness to be alive. But that is not the only singing that will happen this night. A rock falls lightly into Arwen Evenstar's chambers, waking her up. She awakens gently and blinks, wondering what could be the reason for her waking. As she gets up and goes to the window, she looks down and sees her love, Aragorn, gazing up at her with fondest admiration. Before she can speak a word to him, he begins to sing a heartfelt song, serenading his true love:

I've got sunshine on a cloudy day
When it's cold outside,
I've got the month of May.

Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. (My girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl. (My girl)

I've got so much honey
The bees envy me.
I've got a sweeter song
Than the birds in the trees.

Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. (My girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl. (My girl)

Ooooh, Hoooo.

Hey, hey, hey.
Hey, hey, hey.

I don't need no money,
Fortune or fame.
I've got all the riches, baby,
One man can claim.

Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. (My girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl. (My girl)

Ha! On man that one's a double-whammy! Know why? I'll tell ya...

At first I had trouble picturing Aragorn dinging that, but then I thought of those ads for Little Debbie snacks that have the kids singing that song "My Girl" ...hopefully you've seen some of them. Well, anyways, when I read your scene again I pictured King Aragorn singing and doing a goofy little dance along with those kids in the commercials, holding up swiss cake rolls and oatmeal creme pies in triumph! lol.gif

So bloody undignified for a king, and yet so darn funny to imagine!!!
