Has anyone else seen this movie? It's supposedly loosely based on the story of Diana Ross and the Supremes, and it drew my attention because 1) it's a musical type movie and 2) it features Jennifer Hudson as Effie White, who was an American Idol runner up last season or the one before, I think. And wow, does she have an AMAZING voice. She shows up Beyonce and Eddie Murphy tenfold, and even with her acting as well, this is the first movie she's been in. And she's already earned a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. I really hope she wins the Oscar for it too. The music for the movie is fantastic, I bought the cd after I saw the movie and have been listening to it ever since. Jennifer's songs are the best in a way ("Love You I Do", "And I Tell You I Am Not Going", "One Night Only", "I Am Changing"), but there are other fun ones I liked, such as "Move", "Steppin to the Bad Side", and "Patience". So if you haven't seen this, do! It's great, I haven't seen a movie this entertaining in quite a while. ^_^

Jim and I went to see it, and we both loved it! I've ordered the two disk deluxe soundtrack, I totally cannot wait! and yeah, I really hope Jennifer Hudson wins the Oscar, she's amazing. beyonce is great at looking beautiful, but Jen's acting just blew me away. and that voice. OMG I'd do some pretty stupid things to get it lol. definitely one of my favourite movies.
