Author: Okay hi peeps! This is my first ever short story about Dom and I would really love it if you guys gave me feedback so I can find out ways to write better stories next time. Hope you like it! (=

Alyssa was in the lift, frustrated and she could feel a migraine coming on. The sound made by the lift as it stopped at every floor annoyed her even more. She had just gotten back from a meeting, and things weren’t exactly going her way. Her boss had suddenly changed his mind about her work and demanded that she re-do it and promptly hand it in by next Wednesday. “That’s only a week to finish up this crappy thing. Argh!” she cursed in her mind.

Her thoughts suddenly rushed to Dominic, her boyfriend. He was off in LA, filming some other movie. They hadn’t talked in about two days, a new record. She knew how busy he was and didn’t want to disturb him. Yet, sometimes, she couldn’t help but feel lonely.

She had reached the bottom floor and there she was. Bitch and all. Her rival. They were competing for the same position in the office and she wasn’t going to step down just because some bimbo threatened her. “I suppose they call her Bianca the Bitchy Bimbo for a reason,” she recalled in her mind. Bianca then pushed past her shoulder on purpose. It hurt, but she wasn’t going to admit it. “Watch where you’re going, four eyes,” she stated. “Oh please. I wouldn’t come near you with a ten foot pole,” Alyssa fired back and glared at her from head to toe, as though saying “Oh my God, what are you wearing?” and simply walked away.

She was walking towards her car when her mobile phone rang. “Of all times, damn it!” she cursed again. It had turned into a habit ever since she got the job two months ago. However, her eyes lit up the moment she saw it was Dom calling.

“Hello?”
“Babe! How you doing?”
“I’m… well I can’t say fine but I guess I’m okay,”
“Aww. Poor baby!”
She couldn’t help but smile and replied,
“So where you at?”
“I’m not entirely sure, but perhaps you could help me. Stop for a minute.”

Alyssa stopped in her tracks. She loved it when he said that.

“Okay now, walk a bit to the front and turn left. What do you see?”

She followed his instructions and found herself staring at the roadside. “Roadside, sweetheart. What else?”

“Okay now turn to your right then,” he told her.

She did, and there he stood. Wearing a pair of jeans and t-shirt. He was smiling, holding the mobile phone to his ear and said one last word to her:

“Hey.”

Ooo nice beginning! I like!

How much do I want to be Alyssa right now!

Chapter 2


She never had considered him as the “Oh-hey-I’m-home-but-I-won’t-tell-you-because-it’s-a-surprise!” type of person, but she couldn’t help smiling when she saw him desperately looking for a cloth. “It’s in the second drawer on the right,” she told him. He flashed her a grin thank you. Dominic, after surprising her at work, was at her house, cooking them dinner. Alyssa was just sitting and laid her head on the table, watching him. And his cute butt. “Damn, that ass!” she cursed in her mind.

Five minutes later, dinner was already on the table. Dom pretended he was a butler with a heavy Scottish accent like Billy and said “Dinner is served!” and pulled out Alyssa’s chair for her. “How sweet can a guy get?” she said aloud. He then flashed her a cheeky grin and sat down. She found out about the new show that Dom was filming for. It wasn’t actually a movie but a series, called Lost.

“So you’re stranded on an island? A freaky island?” she asked him.
“Yea, but you have no idea how freaky”
“So it’s like The Lord of the Flies only with a bunch of twists? But you don’t eat people right?”
He laughed and replied, “Yes, I suppose you can call it that. And absolutely no eating of people. I understand how horribly obsessed with stranded people you are!”
“Oh no, no. I only get obsessed when it comes to stranded hobbits, you see!” and gave him a raised eyebrow and a look that said “Gotcha!”

After dinner, they both collapsed onto the couch, watching One Tree Hill. Dom suddenly stated a surprising statement.

“I find Chad Michael Murray hot in that part. Not that…this other part…that! Yea, that part. Don’t you?”
“Excuse me?” she said.
“Well, he’s hot, isn’t he?” he asked again.
“WHAT? You find him hot?”
“Well, no, not exactly. But isn’t that what everyone is saying? Quote ‘Will you LOOK at that ASS’ unquote”
“Where did you HEAR that, Dom?”
“Elijah,”
“Oh dear God. You’re spending too much time with him, hon” and she gave him a quick kiss. He could be so cute sometimes.

Author: So sorry if it’s lacking some kissing scenes. I’m still trying to find the ‘mushy-ness’ in me. More tomorrow! (=

Chapter 3

Dominic had picked up Alyssa from the office. He had planned to bring her to a restaurant in town but it turned out that every single place was booked solid. He was still annoyed when he was driving, finding a nice place with edible and digestible food to be taken away and eat at home. “I should have got a reservation. How could I forget?” he thought to himself. He frowned again.

“Dom, it’s not that big of a deal. It’s just dinner, sweetie. How about… we just take away some food and head for the park?” she asked him tentatively. She knew how frustrated he could get when things didn’t go the way he wants them to.

“The park?”
“Yea,”
“We’ll eat dinner at the park?”
“I don’t see why not…”
“I suppose. It’s better than driving around anyway. Up for Chinese?”

They bought their food and sat on a bench at the park.
“So, do you always eat at the park for dinner when I’m not around? He asked her with a grin.
“No,” she returned the grin while chewing her food. “When I was young, my dad used to take me to the park to eat whenever my mom was not around,”
He nodded. Her mom used to be a career woman when she was young and depended on either her husband or a neighbour to take care of her own daughter.

He gathered up their litter after eating and got a sudden idea. He offered Alyssa, who was still sitting on the bench staring at the stars, a hand and asked “Would you care to dance, my lovely?” She simply nodded and took his hand.

His touch was warm and gentle, as always. They danced together slowly for a little while. “So, do you always dance without music?” she whispered in his ear. “When I get the opportunities to,” he replied. He removed his hand from her waist and used it to gently cup her chin. “Why didn’t you call me the past few days?” he asked softly. “I knew you were busy so I didn’t want to disturb you. I know how important your work is to you, Dom.” She answered. “But I’m never too busy for you; you’ve got to know that. You can ruin a scene for all I care, just call me. Okay?” “Yea, okay. Can I really ruin a scene?” she curiously asked him. “Ahh...-“he was cut off as Alyssa kissed him, hungrily and passionately.

Chapter 4

Someone knocked on the door once. “WHAT?!” Alyssa screamed. Her table was filled with piles of papers and important documents. Drawings of dresses, cut-outs, notes, all scribbled by her. The issue of next month’s “Hey Girl!” was to be ready in two weeks but she was more than finished, yet swamped with other work. “Please don’t let it be that bitch! Please!” she thought silently to herself and when she raised her head. Her heart sank the minute she set her eyes on the blonde head and fake boobs. Bianca cat-walked in, as though she owned the place. “Stressed?” she asked. “Pissed,” Alyssa answered with her left eyebrow raised; making it obvious that she wants her to leave. She didn’t.

“I see you’re swamped—“ she got cut off when Alyssa said “Your office is on the second floor. This is the ninth. You only have one reason that you’re actually ON this floor and that’s me so get to the point before I call security to escort you to your floor for no particular reason but just because I’m pissed”. “Oh, nothing. Just wanted to see how you were doing—“ “And now you have, so goodbye!” Alyssa shot back and waved her out.

She got back to her desk and tried to call Dominic. She’d been trying to get him for the past week now. No email, text message, nothing. She had also heard rumors about him and a fellow lady co-star. She knew she could trust him but not to call for a week? This was so unlike him. Once again, she received a dial tone.

Author's Note: A thousand apologies! I’m currently having my Mid Year Exams (it’s split up, you see) so I’m doing my best!

Meanwhile, for you guys who have been waiting for so long, something new!

Chapter 5

She finally got through. “Finally! Where have you been? You haven’t called, e-mailed, no form of communication at all! Have you gone insane? Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been? Did you immerse yourself so completely into this LOST thing until you forgot I existed on the surface of this Earth? And are you even listening to me?” she cried into the phone. She was beyond furious. “And a very good morning to you too, cupcake!” Dom answered back. “Don’t change the subject young man! What took you so long to call back?” she asked him again and glanced at the clock. 3.03 a.m. Oh, such an appropriate time to call. “And on such an unearthly hour?” she added.

“I had communication problems. Plus, I lost my phone somewhere along the beach. I tried borrowing from one of the other actors but when I called you, all I got was a dial tone. This is the first time I’ve got through and here you are screaming at me. I feel awesome, you know?” he replied with a sleazy voice. She could tell he was annoyed. “Uhm, my bad, sorry” she apologized. “No problem. Just keep in mind that I’m in Hawaii surrounded by thousands of mosquitoes and massive trees and really really nice beaches. I wish you’re here, you know? Then we can do one of those scenes from the Baywatch shows…” he said amusingly. “Oh! You mean run down the beach hand-in-hand like Mitch did with one of his girlfriends? You’ve got to take your top off, though. And I need to be wearing a very very very flowery nightgown, isn’t it?” she answered cheekily.

They used to spend hours watching re-runs of Baywatch on tapes when they were together. Things like that stopped abruptly when Dom got catapulted into fame. “Oh that was awful, that nightgown. I wonder what century she came from…” “Century? Hah! More like Millenium!” The night wore on and they continued talking until Dom realized that it was cruel of him to call her at such an unearthly hour.

“You have to go, you need your beauty sleep,” he pestered her. “I beg your pardon? My beauty sleep? What are you implying?” she fired back cheekily. “Oops! Okay, okay, you need to go and sleep now. I promise I’ll keep trying to call you okay. Don’t think I’ll forget you or anything because I won’t…” he trailed off. They said their goodbyes and Alyssa was about to fall asleep with a smile on her face when her alarm went off. Great, she thought.

That's something that happens to me, well not after talking on the phone that long but...I'll be just about to fall asleep when the evil alarm starts blaring in my ear, oh the joys of getting up early for school. Chapter 6

Stupid. Darn. Key hole. GAHH!” Alyssa cried. She struggled with the keys to the door for two more seconds before she slid down the door and sat on the floor. “Are you aware that this isn’t helping?” a tiny little voice said at the back of her head. “Oh shut up, I knew that. Don’t talk to me!” she thought. “I can’t shut up. I haven’t got an off button,” it said again. This was a warning sign, that she needed sleep. “The voice” she called it. It always appeared when she lacked sleep. Either that or she was too high on fizzy drinks. She quickly got up and stuck every key in the key hole one by one. Finally, the door opened.

The moment she entered her apartment, she had a feeling of dread. She knew that Dom wasn’t there, to hold her and to tell her that she could just forget about work. She missed him so much, but she knew that his job was important to him too. “I’ll call him later,” she thought. *Whoosh*. Alyssa turned around. “What was that? I could have sworn…” she trailed off, talking to herself. She thought she had heard a whooshing sound. She shrugged her shoulders, “Probably just my imagination or something…” she thought. *Whoosh* “There it is again!” she said.

She looked frantically around her. She could feel a presence in the room. Who could it be? “Hello? Anyone there?” she called out. “Hang on! This is MY house! What would they be doing in MY house?!” she thought again. CRASH.

She started to panic. She spotted where the sound came from. Thoughts in her head were getting mixed up and the first thing that came to her mind was to call Dom, to tell him what just happened. She dialed his number and instead of getting a dial tone like she usually did, a voice was heard. “Venir…venir….” Followed by an insane laughter. Alyssa hastily dropped the phone and dashed out of her apartment, because just at that moment, she felt a touch along her legs. She ran down the hallway, and took the elevator down to the lobby. There, she waited for someone familiar to go back up to her apartment with. “Where is Dom when I need him most?” she thought and bit her lip.

This was going to be a long night.

*screams and runs around in circles* what? what's going on!? I don't like it! I'm scarededededed. lol It was a great chapter...kind-of sounds like me when I don't get sleep. Can't wait for more! Ta dahling!~Alli~

Chapter 7

“…Lo?!” Dom screamed into the phone, pissed at whomever who was calling at such an unearthly hour.
“Why are you screaming?”
“Oh, sorry, didn’t realize it was you…”
“Listen, when we bought the apartment, was there something you forgot to tell me?” Alyssa asked in a rushed manner.
“Uhm… Not that I’m aware of…”
“Well, how about the fact that a crazed murderer slash rapist murdered slash raped a woman in there, eh? Did you know that?”
“Oh… THAT part…”
“Now he remembers!” she screamed into the phone.
She had just found out from her neighbor, who luckily had overtime that a crazed man had brought a victim to that apart (his apartment) and raped and murdered her soon after that. By the time the police arrived, the man had killed himself and the only thing that was left was a note that said: Heh.
“Well, I didn’t want to freak you out or anything,”
“And you think I’m not freaking out now?!” she screamed again. The man at the counter was starting to stare. “Please, please, please, Dom, can you PLEASE come home? I’m really scared…” she whispered this time.
“Okay, calm down… I’ll go inform my producers about this and I’ll call you back later, kay? You just relax, crash at our neighbor’s or something… You’ll be alright, just DON’T go inside the house alone. Promise me that,” he whispered lovingly. Such a funny man.
“Yea, okay. Call me back?”
“Of course, sweet cheeks. Love you,”
“Love you too!” Alyssa answered before hanging up.

She nervously wrung her hands and proceeded to bunk at her neighbor’s for the night. She was lucky it was Friday and she didn’t have to go to work tomorrow. “COFFEE!!!” her brain screamed.
