Okay so for those that don't know (Or those that didn't realize I was AWOL) I was away all weekend at WWE house shows. Figured I'd post a little bit of a review here
Day 1: Smackdown BrandSingles Match
The Great Khali vs. Jinder Mahal-This was what you might expect, Khali really gets the crowd going over here (Even I was confused...) but yeah Khali was over and warmed up the crowd nicely. This was Basically a squash match, Khali wins
Tag Team Match
William Regal & Tyson Kidd vs. Hunico & Camacho-This match was fantastic! It seemed really random but it was a good lengthy match and was one of the best wrestling matches on both days of the tour. It's nice when guys like this get a lot of match time, theyre good. Hot tag was made to Regal who hit the knee trembler on Camacho ftw
Divas Match (SpecRef: Hornswaggle)
AJ vs. Natalya-Okay so on SmackDown two weeks ago Natty was a face, on nXt she was a tweener, then last week on SmackDown a face, now a heel... She would fit right in TNA with all those changes... Anyway, this would have been a better match without 'swaggle, these two can wrestle. AJ wins with a school boy after Hornswaggle used the school yard trick on Natty
Singles Match
Alberto Del Rio vs. Ezekiel Jackson-Pretty much something for Del Rio to do I think lol, was an okay match, nothing over exciting but a good little match. Del Rio gets the win with a cross arm breaker
Intercontinental Championship Match
Big Show © vs. Cody Rhodes-Show was playing funny with the referee before the match, as the referee went to take the belt from Show he lifted it up above his head so the ref couldn't reach lol! Good match this, seemed better than the mania one and Cody didn't get his balls speared in to the back of his throat. Big Show retains with a chokeslam
Singles Match
Mark Henry vs. Yoshi Tatsu-This match was just after intermission when people were still getting back to their seats (Think about that...) Not really much happened in this match, Henry turned Yoshi Tatsu in to Yoshi Splatsu. Winner, Henry
No DQ Match
Randy Orton vs. Kane-Much better than the Mania match! Rand got his back done in with a kendo stick a few times, looked nasty. Really solid match which the crowd loved. Orton got the win with an RKO on a steel chair
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Sheamus © vs. Daniel BryanI'm glad to report that this match didn't last 18 seconds... So mwahaha to the ones pissed off at the mania match cause I saw an epic on a house show (Just kidding about laughing at you) it was epic though. I suspect that I'll see a lot of this match in their Extreme Rules match. Great match, Sheamus wins via B-Kick
Overall Thoughts:It's really hard to pick a match of the night, the World Title match, No DQ match and the Tag Team Match were all really really good.
They now have mini-trons on house shows that they play the entrance vids on as well as mid show promos! Unfortunately I couldn't see the tron on this night
Bryan would have sold a fuck ton of the "yes" shirts if they had them. Crowd went nutso for him
Day 2: Raw BrandTag Team Title Match (Or so we thought...)
Epico & Primo vs. Kofi Kingston & R-Truth-Just as the match was about to start Johnny Lyringitis came on the mini tron (Which we were opposite this time #win) and made it a non-title, I was pissed as it only meant a loss for the tag champs and a win for team same old shit... Faces won, at least it got Truth and Kofi out the way early
Divas Championship Match (SpecRef: Eve Torres)
Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly-Pretty good match, I'm guessing Eve was ref just so she had summots to do, not that I'm complaining, I can't get enough Eve Torres! Beth retained after Eve pulled the hurting-her-shoulder-on-the-two-count-for-the-face routine. After the match Kelly hit the K2 on Eve
Singles Match
Lord Tensai vs. Alex Riley-Pretty good seeing Tensia, last time I saw him he was A-Train. lol. I feel bad for Riley, dude is one hell of a great talent and is totally being wasted. Tensai wins via referee stoppage, pretty much a squash
United States Championship Match
Santino Marella © vs. David Otunga vs. The Miz-Miz back fighting for the [apparently commedy] mid card title belt saddens me. I thought this would be Otunga and Miz just beating on 'tino till the pin attempt but they actually faced each other. Santino retains after the Cobra on Miz (yes Miz...) I'm never seeing Miz win a singles match, ever...
Singles Match
JTG vs. Brodus Clay-Funkasaurus in the house! Gotta admit I marked a lil for big Brodus, his entrance is awesome. JTG got way more offense in than I expected but Brodus kill him with a big splash. Brodus wins. After the match Brodus got some kids out the front row to dance with him and the girls... Whoever said Brodus' gimmick wouldn't get over... Wrong!
Tag Team Match
American Perfection (Swagger & Ziggler) vs. John Cena & Zack Ryder-Cena is brilliant! He was playing the fans like sheep for the first ten minutes, they all did nothing but warm the crowd up for that time and they ate it up. I was saddened that it wasn't the advertised Cena vs. Ziggler singles match as that would have been awesome but this tag match was brilliant nontheless. Ryder hit the Rough Ryder on Swags at the same time Cena hit the AA on Zigs, double pin, faces win, great match!
WWE Championship No DQ Match
CM Punk © vs. Chris Jericho-Tried to get a sneaky video of Jericho's entrance but my zoom fucked up, I did however get a sneaky video of Jericho's promo so all was not lost! As you would expect this was match of the night. Funny moment was the crowd chanting "we want tables" Punk got on the mic and said "there are no tables, will a chair do?" crowd popped, Punk got a chair to use on Jericho lolzzzz. Great match, Punk wins after a G2S
Following the match Vickie Guerrero sets Swags and Zigs on Punk, Cena and Ryder hit the ring for the save and hit finishers on the heels. After that they broke character and wished Vickie Guerrero happy birthday and got the crowed to sing to her. All the while Punk was sneaking back to the ring with a cake in hand... Yep... You guessed it, Punk shoved the cake in her face. She took it well though and celebrated with the faces to end the show
Overall Thoughts:The last two matches were both fantastic, its hard to choose which was the best show as they were both totally different
I witnessed my first WWE rib with the Vickie/Cake incident, it was funny and probably be the only time I'll witness a WWE rib
