Has anyone else here heard of National Novel Writing Month? If you have, are you participating in it?

I've never tried it before, but I've known about it for years. I, er...kind of forgot about it until a couple days ago, but I think I might sign up and give it a try this year anyway.

(By the way, I hope this is the right forum to talk about it.)

I guess this could also go under 'writing discussion', but either way.

I've heard of it, but since I'm in a short-story stage right now I'll probably let is pass. 2008 will be my PerNoWriYer, or Personal Novel-Writing Year, becuase I'm busy with other stuff, etc. And because I'll probably have my novel ideas sleeked out by then.

I really shouldn't let it pass this years. I tend to never get any writing finished, and I think that by doing NaNoWriMo this year I'll actually be forced into starting and finishing something (even if it ends up so bad that I want to cry). XD

A Personal Novel Writing Year seems like a good idea, Sage. I should try that sometime. Are you going to be using a minimum word count restriction for yourself like NaNoWriMo, or would you just want to get a novel done, whatever the length by the end of the year?

I'm going with 'get the novel done'. For kicks, I'm monitering my word count this month, to see if it even comes close to 50K, but I'm trying not to sweat it if it doesn't.
