Forum Rules Rules

The rules are pretty simple, and most of them are only guidelines, anyway. 1. Respect other members. Keep foul language to a minimum and don't insult people. 2. Don't spam. IE, don't post stuff that doesn't further the conversation, especially one- or two-word posts, and don't wander too far off-topic. 3. Use correct grammar and punctuation as much as you are able. We're a writing site, respect the language that makes that writing possible. 4. Make sure you're posting your topic in the right forum. When in doubt, ask a mod or admin. Otherwise, we'll move your topic to the right place for you, but you'll also get a warning. 5. Even if you don't read these rules, they still apply to you. If you have not read these rules, then you don't have a clue what I'm saying right here. You may not have noticed. 5.5 I was joking about that 'guidelines' part

Ah, it just wouldn't be a debate section without this!

Elves live longer. Thus, elves. They can also shoot you at a distance, whereas dwarves have to get within reach of you with those puny axe-carrying arms of theirs.

I guess it depends on what kind of elves and dwarves. But yeah, elves.

Elves, elves! There is no known exact fact as to the age of either elf nor dwarf, it depends upon the legend that you read, upon the fact that it is also varied amough the fandom of fantasies. Ah, but what we do know is that in every fantasy I've read (except for my own little elves I have of course) are perfect in everyway, unattainible for mortals whom have usually have a strange automatic love interest Cough*Eragon*Cough, and also are usually immortal- at least from a mortals view. Ah and the elf is a creature of Germanic mythology and the un-fair thing is that elves were origionally derived as nature and fertility gods.

Dwarves on the other hand are short, stocky humaniods from Norse mythology and other Germanic mythologies; fairy tales, fantasy fictions yada yada. But dwarves are skilled in warfare while Elves are busy making merry with the forest and nature and magic. Dwarves have me on this one for the simple fact they are known the best smiths making the best armor and weapons. And anyone who has weapons wins my vote.

Good talk, F_A. ^^

Elves are frighteningly beautiful and powerful, but sometimes they can chill your bones. On the other hand, Dwarves can be trustworthy friends, I think. But personally I like Elves better.

Hm... The Hobbit was the first fantasy I read featuring both, I think. And dwarves certainly came off better in that (silly drunken elves, pah!) Dwarves seem more ingenious, I think, and better at adapting to things.

The winner between dwarves and elves is easy to determine. It is the elves. Dwarf fans, I know you’re thinking, how is this possible? Dwarves have gold and mines and axes and are dominant.
Well, the dwarves aren’t pretty are they? No, as a matter of fact the woman look the same as the men. That right there just puts the dwarves far behind the elves.
Sure the dwarves may have a lot of jewels and such. This just creates turmoil in their society. All the dwarves want each other’s gold and fight themselves for it. They’re just going to kill themselves because of their greedy hearts.
Dwarves have axes. Ohh! That’s threatening. What are they going to do? Cut down trees with them? They can only hack at people within close range. By the time it takes them to waddle up to their enemy they’ll be done for.
Now elves on the other hand, are beautiful. Even the ones that are centuries old are still gorgeous. They’re clothes are also amazing and stunning. The dwarves all are dirty and should learn to take a bath once in a while. Oh, and their women actually look like females.
Elves have bows and arrows, long range weapons, which are far more effective than short range weapons. You can sneak up on your enemy and kill them from a distance before they even realize what hit them. Even if the enemy is close to the elves they could just stab them with the arrows.
So now I do hope you realize that elves are a far more advanced race than dwarves and that no matter what the elves will always win for one reason; they’re too pretty to loose.
