Contests, Just read it....

Okay. Here's how it's goin' down. Every third saturday of every month (this is extremely subject to change) I will put up a challenge for any and all members here. The contests will be under four different categories; Jokes, Story-telling, Randomness, and Brain Power.

Let me explain;

Jokes: There will be a theme, all jokes must be in-line with that theme. I will pick the best three and they will have the title of "Jester of the Forums"

Story-telling; This is a category for all you writers out there to show your stuff! There will be a theme, whether it be, Scary, funny, dramatic, or just down-right crazy! Of course, I will choose the best three and they will be called: "Bard of the Forums"

Brain-power: This is a chance to show your thinking skills, cohesivness, ability to form arguments, and quick wit. There will not be a theme, rather, there will be a question one must answer. Again, top three will be called: "Scholar of the Forums"

Last, but not least, Randomness: This is a category where there is NO theme, NO object, NO goal, and NO point. Except one. Come up with the most outrageous and random phrase you can think of. Top ONE will be called: "Weirdo of the Forums"

Note: On ALL submissions, there will be no cursing, profanity, links to inappropriate sites, or any thing else that would violate the "PG" rating of this thread. Any posts found or considered to have such will be removed.
~AND~
All jokes NOT pertaining to the theme will be disqualified and will not be considered OR counted!

Also: All contestants will have until the following Saturday to submit their submissions. So NO dilly-dallying people!

I hope that this thread will turn out well. See you in two weeks! What new ideas will I create?!?

Interesting idea. I've been low on creativity and energy of late, but if I'm able at the time I may enter the writing challenges.

(Okay, some graphic descriptions are allowed, but no "His guts oozed across the floor as the man spazemed in post mortem shock" But things like "There was blood in the room" or any such mild things are okay, but if I see any thing that seems quesitonable, it is disqualified)

What happens if someone happens to win all categories?

how this for a quick example -

I grabbed a knife. Slashed it quickly. Blood sprays everywhere. It's cold, my hands are cold. What was this loser name again. Oh yeah, it was myrcyn. Shoulda let me win shouldn't he. Myrcyn coughs out blood, truly red in fear. I cut him again. Guts fall out onto the floor. Blood everywhere. What a sight. I throw my knife readdy to go. I don't look back but hear the knife piercing flesh andthe splating of blood and guts. I disappear into the knife, cold and dark. No where to be found.

Take out the part about the guts, me (any stories about/centered around a forum member is disqualified) and check your spelling and it will still lose. I will NOT pick a story about gore, blood, and just meant to gross people out. I want stories that will keep you up in the night. I want H.P. Lovecraft -scary, none of the modern gross-out "scary" genres. Come on people I want to think that the story can and will happen if I think about it too hard. I want to be scared of thinking! Give me scary!!

Okay, it was a rhetorical question, and I made it so I can call it what I want! Also, I will announce the category on Saturday. The theme will be on next friday

Yeah sorry, been occupied with real life, there should be a contest up Wednesday though. You have until Friday to post and on Saturday I will judge and announce the winner.
