Beast Kin?

So, um, I was wondering where do the beast kin exist? Somewhere, it says the wild, and then I believe (although I could be wrong) it states somewhere else they live in the -something- Forest. I was just wondering if you could clear it up for me, since I need to know for my 1st character.

The Kin are all over, the beasts keep to small villages and try and keep out of the cities

in truth it does not matter where they go, just remember that if they live in a big city they will be more on edge as it is harder for them to blend in
