So, has anybody here ever been to an actual Disney Broadway show? I would love to go, but unfortunately I live too far away. Of course, if I ever go to NYC, you better believe I'll be going. mickey.gif

Yes, I've been to a Disney Broadway show. I've seen Beauty and the Beast three times. It was a magical experience each and every time. The second time I saw it the entire original Broadway cast was performing with Susan Egan as Belle. The third time I went, Andrea McArdle played Belle and she was incredible. I'm so sad that Disney closed Beauty and the Beast but on a good note, I found out that my local theater in the park will be performing Beauty and the Beast this July. I can't wait!!! biggrin.gif

wow.. that was definitely one of the shows I would've loved to have seen. It sounds like you had a great time. I really like Susan Egan, so I know I would've loved it. I'm sad they closed it as well, but at least it received really good reviews, unlike The little mermaid is getting right now.

Although, I will say that TLM is just starting out, so hopefully, things will get better for them the more they do it. I think it's still early on, and they definitely have time to fix things.

I just wish I was talented enough to be able to be in a show, no matter how big or small my part was.

Yes, I've seen several. I think I saw Lion King at least once. Most of them I've seen though have been non-disney plays like Avenue Q which is my favorite!

I saw TLK a few years ago....despite the fact that the crew was god awful and you could see many of the members of stage crew back stage even going so far as to see Scar being hooked up to a harness, I thoroughly enjoyed the performance the play was incredible.....NOW....on the subject of TLM.....Sam Josie.....you know very well how I feel about this, but I don't think many others do....so here I go.

As you know I am Ursula.....and as such I have some complaints specifically about the person...and costume.....that portrays....yours truly......I do not have mile high hair, I am not thin, I am not cartoony and wacky, I am not shrilly voiced, I am practically the polar opposite of this portrayal. I know that there are some who go, "Oh what are you talking about she's putting her own spin on the character." Yea well...uhm...the character is written to be a bawdy, large, diva....not a cartoony, thin, siren.

As for the others......it's a work in progress....and that's my two cents on the matter!

I agree with you...having said that I know that in other tellings of the story (that have a very different ending) the sea witch is old...so if she's not going to be like the Ursula that we all know and love...at least make her old and creepy...not so cartoonish...

I've never seen one of the actual productions, but I've seen the MTI/School production of Beauty And The Beast several times...its the closest I ever got! I hope to see Little Mermaid sometime, however, as I have aquintances in the show!
