Birth

When digimon are born they are born from eggs which are different from others, even of the same species. These eggs are mostly born in the wilderness but sometimes from colonies or clans of the same digimon and are cared for until they hatch. When they hatch is usually determined by how mature the digimon is inside and how well cared for they are. When inside the digieggs the digimon is virtually untouchable because nothing in the digital world can break it and nothing in the real world can either except from certain human weapons. When a digimon is ready to hatch the digiegg begins to glow in a different color depending on the digimon inside.

When a digimon that is destined to be bonded to a human is inside a digiegg it will not hatch until it comes into contact with the human, this rule however does not apply to digimon who were originally wild digimon but only to those who are born to be with a human.

Maturity

When a digimon hatches it is usually in Baby or In-Training level, though there are unique circumstances to this rule. The digimon will usually attempt to find food in the first hours of its life and then will grow extremely rapidly learning how to talk quickly and effectively unless they lack this ability which is lacking in some wild digimon. The digimon only really begin to go out and explore when they reach at least the Rookie level.

Digimon society is extremely diverse in the digital world, as some digimon are born into a certain role in life like some are born to become chefs, others are simply born to be wild digimon to explore the digital world and sometimes even simply to terrorize and attack others. Some digimon are even lucky enough to be bonded to humans, these digimon are especially lucky and in certain cases envied by other digimon.

Destruction and Rebirth

Digimon can live on for an indefinite period of time as they do age but do not die unless by disease or being destroyed in battle. When a digimon is destroyed it varies from digimon to digimon to what happens. Certain digimon if they are pure evil will usually be fully destroyed and never come back although sometimes a digimon that is infected with a virus might pass the virus onto another digimon, or even be reborn without the virus. Normal digimon usually burst into data and will eventually turn into another digiegg. However if this data si absorbed by another wild digimon then the absorbed digimon will never come back (Partnered digimon do not have this ability as their strength does not come from enemy data but from their human partner).

When a digimon returns to a digiegg it always looks the same as it did before but its personality may be a little different or it may have different attacks or a different color.
