Persona's Backstory:
Personas:
Personas are born from a person who has faced their inner darkness in the form of a Shadow. They are links to a person's past lives, and True Personas accompany their users, invisible to anyone who doesn't have a Persona of their own. True Personas are created when a person faces their own personal Shadow, which exposes all their fears and flaws for everyone to see. If a person can accept these fears and flaws, it will become their True Persona, but if not it becomes a twisted form of said being, and will attempt to kill their creator, but can be stopped and defeated by other Persona users. Other weaker Personas can be created by defeating Shadows and absorbing their essence to create a Persona that reflects something that all of humanity has in general, although these aren't as powerful as True Personas, they can have a wide variety of skills, unlike most True Personas, which are limited to physical, support, and in all but the rarest cases, a single element, the opposite of which they are weak to.
Shadows:
Shadows are reflections of the darkness that reside in the general hearts of mankind, pooling in Mayonaka, the twisted world that acts as a reflection of the true world, and which seems to have once been beautiful, but has recently become corrupted. The more powerful a Shadow is, the more of an aspect they can accumulate, and the most powerful of them can even claim an entire aspect to themselves, such as The Reaper, who has claimed the aspect of Death for himself, and is all but indestructible because of it, being unable to be killed permanently. Sometimes, Shadows are born from a single person's heart, and mimic their form, only distinguishable from the original by their change of clothes, and glowing yellow eyes. Some Shadows manifest a will of their own, and look human, similar to the Shadows created from humans, however, these tend to have blue eyes, and are unaware of their status as Shadows, as they tend to think of themselves as beings that are separate from the Shadows.
Evokers:
Evokers are odd items that appear when one leaves Mayonaka after awakening their Persona, and take on the form of a silver necklace, with a Tarot symbol matching their True Persona's as the pendant. These can be used to summon a Persona outside of Mayonaka, but doing so causes a strain on the user's body.
Tarot Symbols:
Every person,Persona, and Shadow has a Tarot symbol taken from the 22 Tarot cards. However, 2 of these are unique, allowing a person to become a Wild Card, and those are the 0 Card:The Fool, and the 21 Card:The World. The other ones are the 1 Card: The Magician, the 2 Card: The Priestess, the 3 Card: The Empress, the 4 Card: The Emperor, the 5 Card: The Heirophant, the 6 Card: The Lovers, the 7 Card: The Chariot , the 8 Card: The Justice , the 9 Card: The Hermit, the 10 Card: The Fortune, the 11 Card: The Strength, the 12 Card: The Hanged Man, the 13 Card: The Death, the 14 Card: The Temperance, the 15 Card: The Devil, the 16 Card: The Tower, the 17 Card: The Star, the 18 Card: The Moon, the 19 Card: The Sun, and 20 Card:The Judgement. Each one represents something in particular about the person, Persona, or Shadow in question.
Ok. That covers the basic rundown, anyone who's interested post here so I can know who all wants to join this!
Yep count me in, just PM me when you're ready to get it started.
To get this thing started, we'd need at least 3, with preferably more people.... As it is, I'm going to be playing 2 characters, including the Antagonist, to make up for the lack of players...
Remember we don't have to go piece by piece on how the game is. if we're lacking rpers improvise and change it up a bit
I know, but with only two of us, it would really lack a lot of what makes Persona what it is... Unless each one of us is willing to do about 3 characters apiece... Or we could go the alternate route and our two character could be total Banchos, who get drawn into the whole Mayonaka thing by bad luck...
