Resident Evil 5 is supposed to be coming to PS3 and X-box 360, maybe sometime by early 2007.
From IGN.com (this page also has some screen shots from RE5):
Swarms of marauding evil beings will charge at you when your pulse is racing at a heart-shattering pace. Environments will play a bigger factor than ever here, using the power of next-gen systems to create a world where terror might lurk in any alcove or shadow. Powerful lighting effects overwhelm the player with mirage movement and blinding brilliance, and even in the light of day, there is no safe haven from the latest Resident Evil. -------------------- |

I'm not sure if I buy into the 'exclusive for Wii' sales pitch.
Could be true, but I bet anything they later release versions for PS3 and maybe one for XBOX 360. When RE 4 came out, it was advertised as an 'exclusive to Game Cube' title, only to be released several months later for the PS2 (and with more content in the PS2 game!) Ditto with the first two Fatal Frame titles. Said to be coming only to PS2, but later, X-box versions were released. I've seen this new game referred to with different names. In Japan, of course, Resident Evil is referred to as Biohazard, so I would assume that all the following variations show up with the "Biohazrd" title as well:
Resident Evil: Umbrella Corp. Chronicles Umbrella Chronicles Resident Evil Wii So far, the gaming sites that have any information about this game say that it's going to be available on for Wii. LINK: Umbrella Chronicles announced by Capcom for Wii - from digg

I emailed Mr. Nilsen (Capcom board mod, Capcom Support) just to make sure all was confirmed. He has emailed me back and given me the go ahead, all the info you find below is indeed true. Biohazard Umbrella Chronicles Revealed - IGN

The article reveals very little about the title, even to suggest that the game will somehow make use of the Wii's remote to manipulate your weapons. ... Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles is a game made only for the Wii.
I'm assuming it's another rail shooter. I do not own a Wii, and I don't know if I will ever buy one. I only bother to issue updates about scary games for the Wii for any site or board visitors I may have - and in the interest of being thorough. If not for that, I wouldn't bother. Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles - review by GameSpot, also- images, trailers, etc Kotaku reviews RE Darkside Chronicles In other Resident Evil related news... I did get a copy of RE5 for the X-box 360 over a year ago but have not finished it yet and don't know if I ever will. I got to a tough level where my character has to pull a lever to open a gate or something, and when this happens, all hell breaks loose; I get attacked by 500 billion bad guys all at once. I never have had patience for re-playing a difficult or tedious level over and over again until I beat it. To this day, I never have picked up Resident Evil Code Veronica because once I made it to the part where I have to shoot down a big, naked, blue zombie on an air plane, I couldn't do it. Got fed up and never tried that game again. I might give RE5 another go, if I ever get in the mood again, but I just despise having to tackle really hard levels. It's a fun game, the graphics are great, but that level just overwhelms me. -------------------- |
