Director McG admitted there had been "misinformation campaigns"

A brief clip from Terminator Salvation, the fourth film in the franchise, was screened at the Comic-Con event in San Diego by director McG.

James Cameron, who directed the first two Terminators, and special effects maestro Stan Winston - who died in June - both had a hand in the film, he said.

The new film - which stars Batman actor Christian Bale - is released in May.

Set in 2018, the dark and apocalyptic film explores "what the world is like after a nuclear holocaust", McG said.

"We wanted everything to feel like giant Soviet tanks crushing all comers."

I still prefer the 2nd movie over the other two. Hopefully this next installment won't be a let down.

Same here. Also, I think Arnold would be too old for this stuff.

I Do agree with the first and second movies but salvation does look watchable with a 7.5 rating, however McG Plans To Bring The Future War Back in Time in Terminator 5? wtf is he thinking.

McG tells the FilmJournal that he strongly suspects that Terminator 5 “is going to take place in a [pre-Judgment Day] 2011.” And the film is aiming for a 2011 release. McG reveals that the story might follow John Connor traveling back in time on a mission to “galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending Skynet invasion.
Terminator Salvation was being set-up to be the first film in a new trilogy of Terminator movies. As McG admitted that its “not a happy little bow of an ending at all. The ending is tough and requires reflection.” McG has even shared his idea of how he might bring T2 star Robert Patrick back for a cameo in the next film. But aside from that concept-in-progress, we’ve been told nothing about the story for the next film… until now.
