Sweeny Todd the period drama musical is hitting the big screen this december with an all star cast, Johnny Depp, Helana Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman star in this dark tale.

With Tim Burton behind the helm expect this film to be dark, gothic full of wit and charm.

The story line is that Sweeny Todd is back from exile and he wants revenge on the judge that took his family away from him, he becomes a hair barbar but instead of giving them a shave, he slits their throats, he gives the bodies to next door where she turns them into pies.

Well america seemed to love this film with reviews going as high as 4/5 stars but us Brits dont get it until the 25th of january. Kind of unfair

i found this movie to be alright, not great nor terrible, just alright, wait til it comes out on Dvd and rent itif u wanna watch it

I watched it today and really enjoyed it, it's very atmospheric more like an opera than a musical

Not really feeling the opera tag if thats what the movie is like. But you seemed to enjoy it still so I will still give it a shot myself some time.

No I know its not an opera, its a musical but the film shows it more as a opera since there are no lavish girls in nothing but pearls dancing, there is no dance what so ever in the stage version as well apart from alittle waltz. A play with only the two art forms, drama and music is more of an operatic style.
