Clarify a possible demon?

I just made an account on this forum specifically to gain some sort of insight on what I saw a few nights ago.
I couple friends and I were returning to this wooded area where we were going to conduct a ritual blessing. (I'm Wiccan and my other friend is a shaman, the other three are friends that expressed interest and so we let them tag along.) Now, this isn't the first time we were going to the area but it was our first time at night. We've done something there before but nothing dark, nor did we summon anything or the like, we know the dangers and steer clear.
Anyways, on the way there we decided to take a different path because the one who knew the forest the best had told us that it would be easier for us this way... Well we got to the entrance of this "other path" before I told them to wait, for I had felt something off but wasn't able to discern it until now.. The moon wasn't out nor was Venus and Jupiter. There was also no wind or the sound of crickets/bugs. (Don't know how much y'all believe so...Bear with me?) That's when things really started to feel off and I told everyone to stop, we were going back... My friend (the shaman) wanted to check a couple of things out before he confirmed what I had said and we began on back.
Getting to the point (once more, don't know if you all would think we were nuts) we exited the forest's edge and at that point it felt like something was watching us, so I turned and froze, between two trees I saw a bleach white face, black eyes (or if they were just sockets) staring right back at me. At that point I had an unimaginable sense of fear and the urge to run build up inside me but I couldn't move, it was like watching a horrible accident.
My friend (the shaman) would later tell me that he saw my face turn pale white when I turned around and that he had seen something similar, but only after moving where I was standing so as to see between the same trees at my angle.

So...What do y'all think? Obvious questions? Yes we are young, I'm almost 18, hope that doesn't affect your input or your belief on the authenticity of my account. Was what we saw a demon? It had a pale, white face and black spots where the eyes would be. It was standing upright. If you could, give me a detailed description and possibly this thing's name.. Thanks!

where were these woods, If I have a location maybe I can get some local lore on it or make a few phone calls. As for if it is a demon or not..It may be a manifestation of the demonic or it could be something else. I would need to know more. For your own safety I strongly recommend staying away from that area, it may be infested with something you are not equipped to handle.

Interesting. I was raised in Upstate New York. I would wander the woods often alone. I have seen all kinds of things and felt similar ways. Just odd you would ask NY. Anyway, I agree it could be literly anything. Depending on where you are there, the Native American burial grounds of several tribes are there and long forgotten. Not to mention wars and killings for centuries back. I would suggest checking local lore, just finding out what is around. It can be amazing how much can be learned by research.

Do you remember or did you see any kind of symbol?

Goetic Deamons were assigned symbols by King Solomon (The Greater and Lesser Keys), so if it's a quote "biblical demon", people have noticed the symbols they represent.

(better to keep this in the content of the Judeo/Goetic classification of demons, since it would take too long to explain the butchary between ancient cultural worships and the Vatican).

That's very interesting Starla. The place I am thinking of is half hour from the canadian boarder. That's why I'm asking for a general area. The woods were the site of an uprising from the Black Feet, they burned down the local church. It is said that a milita was formed from the local towns fearing the Black Feet will turn to burning and looting of those towns. Many of the Black Feet were chased up into canada those who fell behind were killed.

These deaths are said to of brought great pain to the forest, and that the guardian of the forest was very angry by the slaughter. That the guardian released a very evil spirit to avenge the deaths of the indians. From the story I was told this evil spirit stalks the forest looking for people to harm praying on hikers, campers, anyone who would venture into the woods. It is said that many people who venture into the area that has had accidents.

That is intresting, Djinni. Now I'll have you know I am 19. I'm not wiccan, though i do practice fortune telling and the occasional spell, mainly ki based wind magic. I don't think you're crazy. Hell, I know a son of Elathan, the Celtic demon of darkness. Anyway, what you saw sounds more like a croucher than a major demon. a croucher is a demon that guards doors, entrances, etc. they can easily induce fear, even dread. Now what you want to do is try going to the path again, but this time, ask if you may enter at the path entrance. if you feel a wind blowing at you, or even hear a voice denying you access, don't enter. otherwise go on ahead. it would probably be wise to carry some protection charms and even cast a few protective spells for good measure.
