This is a long story...
I lived in a house from the time I was 8 to 15 and this place was hell. For starters it was built in the 1970's by the mayor of our town. On the outside, the house was beautiful. It was at the end of a private road on the lake. There were all kinds of trees and a beautiful lawn. The house was white with red trim along the windows and doors. The inside was a different matter. There were two levels, both with three bedrooms and two baths. The first floor had this dark brown carpet and the basement had blood red. There was only one room where the sun seemed to actually come through the windows and make the area feel good. Everywhere else seemed dark and eerie.
When we first moved in, I was helping my mother and sister unpack when this gust of wind seemed to blow through our house and we all got this sensation of vertigo. No windows were open either, but after a few moments, all of our family portraits along the hallway floated off the wall and levitated at a horizontal angle in midair. My sister and I started crying and screaming and my mother got rather angry and yelled, "Stop go away!" The pictures floated back down into place.
Apparently my mother angered this spirit because she became the center of this things attacks. One day, several months from when we had moved in, she was in our basement folding clothes. No one was home with her but she felt like something was watching her. She told me she did not want to turn around because she new that no one would be there. Moments later, she said she felt something strong and overbearing rush at her and grasp her throat. It roared very loud and my mother struggled with it and cussed it out (which I heard is not advised). Finally the spirit lifted its hold and everything became calm. I was surprised that this did not shake her up when she told me many years after the first attack. I would have left, but we didn't.
We often had parties at our house because the down stairs area had a huge sound system, pool table, keg, and many other things. Our guests found it odd that the pool balls would sometimes move on their own. The pool table was level and the people that told us about it were non alcoholics. When people stayed over, they would tell us that they woke up and heard two male voices conversing in the hallways. They would start to feel uneasy. Our family friend said she could see screaming, evil skull like faces in the paneling and I also have seen them all throughout the house.
When my sister came home she saw two men standing in the bay window watching her. One man was very thin while the other was fat.She would wait until the sun would come up before she even thought about coming inside.
One night I had to go to the bathroom, but I hated getting up and going out of my room at night. I did anyway and when I finished up, I went to leave and when I opened the door, this white mass just blew up in my face and it scared me so bad that I could not cry or speak. I just ran to my sisters room and stayed there.
When I grew older I became very angry and depressed. My parents fought a lot more. My dad lost his constructions license for the state we lived in and traveled to another state to work. For some reason he could never please this man who dressed in these black suits and red ties with his work (I never knew why he left until about three years ago).
Everything gradually started getting worse and when I was in the 8th grade my band director died. I was very, very upset over this and I had bottled it up all day. When I got home I let all of my emotions go. I went to sleep that night and because of being emotionally drained, I was sleeping like a rock. At 3am my eyes snapped open and I sat up straight in my bed and looked out to my doorway. A thin man with a black suit and red tie was standing there. I could not see his face but I knew that this individual was extremely evil and wanted to do me harm. I felt my head spin and I started having a panic attack as I stared into his dark form. I honestly wanted to die and I told myself that if I get my covers over my head, I would be fine. I went to grab my covers, but I found that they had been neatly pulled off of my bed. I shut my eyes because I did not want to see him anymore and I finally got my covers, pulled them over my head and prayed myself back to sleep. Ever since that night, I have never slept with any door open in my room. I even refused to come home on multiple occasions but I felt bad about leaving my mother alone in the house.
While I was here, I started having premonitions too. I had been having dreams of my mother drowning and I think the Man in the Black Suit new this because my mother told me that she would wake up to the sound of water rushing by her head. I also had two occasions where I was getting ready in the bathroom and I got tunnel vision suddenly and I could hear water rushing by my head. The spirit would mimmic my voice to get my mother's attention when I wasn't home and she saw the Man in the Black Suit many, many times.
My dad actually left my mom for someone else during the last few years that we lived in this house. The reason we stayed was because we were so bad in debt that we just could not leave. When my mom found out about my dad, she went into a major depression. During Thanksgiving, she was about to commit suicide. Before she did it, she told me she passed out and began dreaming. In her dream she was in the middle of this swirling vortex of fire standing on some rock. The Man in the Black Suit walked up to her and she could see his face. He had maroon eyes and shark teeth. His skin was as pale as a dead person and he smiled at her and said, "I have you now." My mom said that, in this dream, she turned around and started climbing up a wall that the vortex was swirling against and she says she climbed for what felt like hours. When she woke up, her hands were red and burning.
That was apparently the last straw. We sold everything we owned and sold the house. When we moved into a new apartment across town, everything instantly got better. My dad came back and they fixed their marriage and my depression and extreme anger issues lifted.
I am 20 now and I am majoring in psychology and I can not find a single theory that explains any of these events. I did research on the house and the Man in the Black Suit and all I can say is I am glad we left when we did. The Mayor who built the house had married my sister's husband's grand mother. She told us that after four months, they left the house because she felt uneasy.
The person who we were in debt to killed her husband in the house, but I knew for a fact the he was not the Man in the Black Suit because he was a big man. I think the Man in the Black Suit had him trapped there.
I want to know what people think about this story and what they make of it. Why do you think the Man in the Black Suit was there? No one invited him in. I have heard that water attracts spirits, but I feel like this was a demonic entity and I do not know if those same rules apply. Has anyone else ever dealt the something like this or come face to face with the Man in the Black suit too?

Evil, yes, the spirits seems very angry. What makes me lean to say no that it was not demonic, is that you moved and things got better. If it is demonic it should of followed you, since it be attatched to you.
Sometimes human spirits like to hold themselves out as demons. I like to call it the tough guy look. Kinda like how people like to act bad, dress bad, but their really not as bad as they hold themselves out to be.
Was probably the spirit of a person who wasn't very happy in life or lived a bad life. There is the theory that you are as were in life when you died. A child who dies will continue to act like a child. They will continue to play games, they will sing they will be as they were in life. If your a very mean person, you womanize you live a very angry life, you will stay in a very angry state. Was probably because you were there or they didn't approve of the family living there. There have been some cases where one family was in a house they had a lot of negative experiances and then the next occupent had nothing happen at all. What ever the trigger was, it wasn't there with the new occupent.
Hauntings are like flashlights. They have components, in every flash light you got the bulb, the rectifier, the wires, the switch and the battery. The battery is where the power comes from, there is many theories as to what spirits draw from, in some instances they will drain the power from your batteries during an investigation. The wires are the spirit, without the spirit drawing power from the battery the circuit of a haunting can't take place. They store the energy and then there is the switch. The switch could be anything, from remodeling the house to every day things. We are finding new switches for paranormal activity every day. Then there is the bulb that is the actual activity, once that switch is triggered, it begins to do it's thing, what ever it maybe. The rectifier is the eyewitness the client, the person who experiances the activity. Without the witness, we wouldn't have a lot to go on for investigating. A spirit says talk to me, and there is no one there who hears it, does the spirit make a sound? Take away any of these and there is no haunting. I believe even a demonic or inhuman spirit follows the same basic pattern. It's just their power is bigger, the bulb is brighter, and there is no real understanding what triggers the switch.
Beware spirits....you never know where I'll pop up next.... You run, I chase, you chase, I stand my ground, you cuss I cuss more, you slap me, I laugh at you. Throw things at me, throw me through the room, you don't scare me and I will continue to hunt you. Proud member of SIRS www.sirsparanormal.com
