Seeing Ghosts Through God's Eyes Website
Seeing Ghosts through God's Eyes is not a collection of ghost stories, although it has 'ghosts' stories in it. It is what is known as a polemical book, arguing for a particular belief; in this case the question that is analyzed is: do ghosts exist? I argue (at times strenuously) for one specific answer to that question. That is, I don't look at the evidence and agnostically ask 'What do YOU think?' I use logic, different aspects of science, and a biblical worldview to come to a firm conclusion; one which I truly believe is beyond reasonable doubt. That is what is unique about this book: the cumulative evidence is so overwhelming, that for the first time, readers have good reason to say the debate is over. I even offer a hypothesis which is empirically verifiable. If sufficient numbers of properly trained paranormal/supernatural investigators religiously provoke shadow figures, then the debate will be SEEN to be over-it will be proved to be true. All this may sound strange to the ears of some, but God called me to a field (I wasn't looking for it!) which is full of mystery, and at times significant danger, for those who get in over their heads. The first part of the book is foundational (the intro. and chapters one and two) The paranormal in general and ghosts in particular is not a silly subject that one can afford to be dismissive of. Tens of millions of Americans claim to be spiritual but not religious. That is, they have a desire to experience spiritual reality, but they have given up on the 'hidden' God of classical Christianity. Church is seen as outdated or unattractive for a number of reasons. When these seekers of spiritual reality are inundated with paranormal TV shows and movies the connection is often electric. On some shows indisputable evidence of the supernatural (as opposed to the hiddenness of God) is captured for all the world to see. The result is that in some circles the paranormal has become the new normal. There are titanic issues at stake, which is why I argue that we are ill advised to be so dismissive of the idea of ghosts—as many evangelical/Reformed folks seem to be. When was the last time you heard a message or sermon on the paranormal or ghosts? We shy away from this topic, but in so doing we are avoiding one of the most explosive spiritual forces at work today. One such significant issue is: the belief in ghosts prove that there is an after life, and it does not matter what you believe to 'cross over.' Through looking at some of the most basic questions we as humans can ask, the book then asks: is the concept of ghosts compatible with the biblical teaching on these foundational issues? You will be surprised at the hornet's nest it stirs up! About Rev. Mark Hunnemann The Rev. Hunnemann was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina in the fair neighborhood of Sunset Hills. The seventh of ten children, he sought refuge from his mischievous tendencies by playing football. In his words he played fullback because, "he couldn't juke his dead grandmother, but he did like the crash of helmets." He was founding pastor of Christ the King AR Presbyterian church; co-founder of Caldwell Classical Christian School; and was on the advisory board for the International Civil Rights Museum-in the Woolworths where the international sit-in movement began. Currently, when he is not writing a newsletter or blogging, he is vigorously marketing his book as he believes there are very significant issues at stake in this debate. Mark has three children wonderful children who all reside in Greensboro. -------------------- Pastor Michael Frisbee, DD/DM

Sounds very interesting. It is very true so few Churches talk about any of this. I personally left a church years ago when the Pastor and Associate Pastor told me there were no longer Angels or Demons they were just old testament stories. The whole time frame in the early 80's was when I started my journey in the paranormal field. When enough time is spend in the field, it is hard to deny any possibilities it seems. One reason I read through these posts often. There is so much out there these days.
I will have to check this book out! -------------------- The easiest way for evil to win is for good men and women to do nothing.

Yes, from what I know about this book so far, it seems to be very compatible with my own personal beliefs.
LadyStarla, sometime I'd like for you to message me, and fill me in on more details about this church you left (can't say I blame you!). -------------------- |
