Title: Looking for Some Advice
Description: Child waving to something not there
Curious - August 1, 2010 06:46 PM (GMT)
Hi all, this is not my first post here at these forums.
A while back my family experienced some frightening paranormal, in my opinion, demonic activity in our home. My other post went into these events in detail, and in short everything has been fine since the events resolution.
Anyway on to my current question.
My wife and I have an 18 month old baby daughter, and last night while we were all watching television we noticed her looking at a point in the room and saying "hi" while waving to something that just wasn't there. She did this three times. She would just stop interacting with whatever she was doing, look up at an empty spot in the room and say "hi" and wave. Then she would go back to whatever activity she was previously engaged in.
Our family is in a great place, there is no negativity in our home, and nothing felt strange or weird last night. Everytime she would do this my wife and I would look at each other, both knowing what the other one was thinking, but like I said nothing felt out of place.
Naturally we are a little apprehensive about this, and more guarded than we would normally be. Should we be concerned? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What makes you think your family has experienced demonic activity? When children are small they are much more open to the paranormal than adults are. When my youngest son was small he used to point to things and say, "Look momma! Ghost!" At the time I did have a lot of negative entity activity so it worried me a lot. Now I've come to realize that my son is talented and has clairvoyant skills. I can't tell you for sure what he saw as a child, but I'm sure he was seeing something. Without fail when he would see something, if I went to the area he pointed to, it would either be freezing cold, or I would break out in tingles. I'd keep a journal when you notice activity, or when you notice your child seeming to see something. It would be nice to have equipment to verify what your child is seeing, but not necessary. But you may try to note if there is activity when your child sees something or is acting strangely. I think it's very important to support our children who have skills. Not to make a big deal of it, but to be there when they need support. If you still think there is a negative entity involved with your family it may be a good idea to call in a team, or a clergy of your choice to do a home blessing. Keep us posted, good luck hon!

I posted in depth about the past negative activity, and to sum it up there was an entity that would manifest itself to my wife over the course of several years in which it became more and more oppresive to her and even caused paranormal events within my home. This coincided with a lot of negativity within our family life and I believe that this is what ultimately drew it there. I eventually blessed the house myself, and hadn't had a problem since. The entire "feeling" of our home is a complete 180 from where it was when this was at its worst.
The negative events happened some time ago, and nothing has happened since then, so I don't necessarily think that what my child was looking at the other night was negative (when those events were taking place the actual feeling within my home was oppresive and dreadful), whereas the atmosphere within my home during this last event was peaceful and happy. However, I am convinced that she was looking at something.
The only reason I bring up the negative experience at all is because after experiencing something like that I am naturally a little on guard. My actual feeling watching her wave to something that wasn't there was positive, the way she waved to it was no different than when she waves to me or her mother.
If this was a positive energy/entity what drew it to our home? We are the only people to ever have lived in our home, so its definitely not haunted.
We didn't notice her waving to anything last night, so maybe this was a one time event.
Thanks for your response, and I look forward to any others.

It could have been a relative visiting. I used to get visits from my grandparents and aunts and uncles when I was young...still do sometimes. I wouldn't worry unless it starts to become a regular thing, then I would start keeping a journal marking: time of day, where she's looking, and how she's acting. :)

Thanks for the reply, I hope that this is what happened in our case. So far she only did it the one time, and like I said it seemed like a positive thing. I will definately post again if she does anything like that again.

I agree it maybe a relative but keep an eye out. I have a son that sees things, ghosts, as well as demons. A demon showed itsself to him one night. Just keep an eye out and guard up just a little.

Ah yes, I do remember that, the name did sound strangely familiar to me. Just because your home is new, don't think it can't be haunted. One of the most haunted homes I investigate is only about 20 years old now, and is a new construction. The land it sits on however, is what's haunted. My youngest son did things very similar to what you describe when he was small. Now he's a budding clairvoyant that is coming to terms with being able to see the dead. It could be a relative, it could be a spirit related to the land. I'd keep an eye out for more activity and learn as much as you can about the paranormal. For it may be a passing phase, but it may also be the beginning of skills that your child may later possess. (Both of my sons can see/hear spirits, so it seems to me it is very possible it runs in families.) Getting educated on the subject can't hurt, and if it comes to be a skill later on, you'll have a better handle on it of how to help your own daughter.
I'm working on something that I hope will help parents and their kids with situations such as yours. Wish me luck, for I hope that maybe my experiences, and those of my children, and others I've been in contact with can help, or at least, that's the idea of the whole thing. Either way, keep us posted on how things go, and good luck! Hugs!

My youngest daughter did something similar quite often when she was a baby. The first time we saw it, she actually lifted her arms up to be picked up by something that wasn't there. She is now 5 and has continued to display a sensitivity. Children are extremely receptive to the paranormal. Some believe they even see their guardian angels. There does not seem to be any indication that your daughter was afraid so I wouldn't worry too much. You might try talking with her about it... I know she is very small but you never know what or how she might reveal something :) Keep us informed!

I agree with gifted and isabel9710. Children are very receptive, and one time events tend to be relatives - like a grandparent. Do keep an eye out though, and not totally relax, as demons can appear as angels of light to gain trust. It being (so far) a one-time event is a good sign. :)

It could also be an angel visiting your child. Not the demon-in-angel form, but a true angel. Spirts and DLO's aren't the only ones who visit children. But given your past history with the house, I think you're wise to keep an eye on the situ. There is still so much we don't know about the paranormal. On guard is better than "caught by surprise".
And keeping a journal as angel suggested is a great idea. Just be sure to document your child's reaction to the "event" as well. It will help you keep track of any changes in their behavior to w/e may be visiting.
