Death Note Apocalypse

Prologue:


October, 2062.
Kanto, Japan.

The story begins 50 years after the original 'Kira' story. Shortly after, Ryuk returned to the Shinigami's world and lived out his life as he had before. Eventually, he couldn't take it any longer. It was just too monotonous. This was when he remembered a how he had killed boredom 50 years earlier with Light. Ryuk decided to have a little more fun.

Once more, he dropped his deathnote in the human world. A young human found it shortly after and quickly came to the conclusion that he/she would kill criminals. Things played out strangely just as they had the first time. All survivors of the original Kira case suddenly began dropping off one at a time of heart attacks. Because of the facts of the original case were sealed, no one alive knows about the Death Note. Kira supporters quickly rose once more to support their new 'god'.

One thing differed this time, though. As last time, a second deathnote was dropped. Another deathgod, Shidoh, accidentally dropped his own deathnote. The difference was that this one had been picked up by a deranged psychopath. The psychopath's name was Hanshin. When it came to mental disorders, he had hit the jackpot. It was a quick decision that he would kill whoever he wanted. He first killed many political leaders, throwing the world into chaos. He reveled in how he had made all the sheep start to look around anxiously, wondering if they would be next, and it felt good.

The first to find the deathnote, however, quickly realized that someone with a deathnote was committing these murders. Many of those who had come to follow the 1st deathnote owner and call him 'Kira' were now believing that he had committed them and began turning against him. He decided he should punish this murderer and the game of cat and mouse begun. Upon seeing this, however, some more shinigami decided to join in the fun. In this way, 4 more deathnotes came to Earth. In between the upcoming battles between the Kiras, once more, one with the title of "L" will become involved. So now, not only will they have to worry about exposing themselves to each other, but to L and any others who dare to hunt those with the power of the death gods. The Deathnote Wars have commenced and the Apocalypse is upon us. Let the fun begin....





Sidestory:
At the end of the original Kira investigation, it was stated that Near destroyed the remaining notebooks. However, whether it was for fear of another Kira incident or some other personal reasons, he kept one for himself, secretly. The one he kept happened to be the very one that Ryuk had written false rules in. He locked it away in a vault and it remained there for the next 50 years. It remained by his bedside until the day of his death. His death came when the new Kira discovered his name. He woke up in the middle of the night and felt a quick thump in his chest, knowing immediately what was happening to him. He knew that he had to destroy the deathnote and quickly took out the key which he wore around his neck, placing it in and opening the vault. The contents of the vault were exposed, the deathnote and a match. He lit the match, but before he could set it to the paper, he fell to the ground. As his eyes closed, he lamented not having destroyed it earlier and having used it to kill Mikami. As Ryuk had said himself, anyone who used the death note was doomed to suffer and die an early death. With that, he breathed his last breath.

It was when the investigators came in that one of the first noticed the book. The investigator quickly decided to take the strange book and conceal it in his coat, claiming that the vault was empty when he found it and saying that a robber must have killed Near, claiming that they must have been after whatever was in the vault. He took it home and kept it in one of his own drawers. He went to sleep immediately and decided that he would read it the next morning. Coincidentally, before he was even able to read the contents of the book, it was lost. A robber actually did break into his home while he was sleeping and took all the valuables, throwing them in a bag. The robber later looked through his loot and saw what seemed to be a useless notebook. He didn’t want to be connected to his crime and couldn’t throw it away in his own garbage or put it where anyone else could see it. And so, he went to a nearby park and simply tossed it in the bushes, leaving it there for some future Kira to find.

Shinigami profiles:

Name: Daruku (Dark)
Personality: Daruku is the mastermind behind the bet. He takes a strange amount of pleasure in killing humans and has killed many more than necessary. He has killed enough to frighten even the other death gods. It is rumored that he managed to cause a war in the human world and used it as an excuse to kill thousands of humans, writing their cause of death as “shot to death by enemy soldiers” so that the inordinate amount of deaths would be completely unnoticed by the human population. It is rumored that he has secured himself over 5,000 years of life from writing names in his death note, yet he continues writing names on a steady basis. Because of this, he is usually avoided and doesn’t often participate in their mindless gambling. He witnessed the original events of the kira case and decided that it might be fun to try it again with even more death notes so that he could witness even greater carnage. However, he couldn’t gather the death notes himself and decided that he could convince a few other shinigami to participate by turning it into a bet, offering a year supply of apples if Ryuk were to win and his own death note if the others won. They in turn had to wager their own death notes. The bet was that they would all give their death notes to the best human they could find and seeing whose would last the longest. The only Shinigami on Earth who isn’t actually involved in the bet is Shidoh, as his presence there is accidental and he wouldn’t be there if he didn’t drop his death note (again).

Name: Dellidublly
Personality: Rather lazy. Though he is the only shinigami we have seen carrying around a scythe, he has never actually used it. He could care less regardless of what happens and only participates in the bet with the others so that there is something to do. Any explanation is too troublesome for him to consider, so he wouldn’t bother explaining much to whoever he gave his death note to. He carries no feelings for humans and is prone to complaining.

Name: Gook
Personality: A compulsive gambler as well as a pervert. He is more likely than the others to hand off his death note to the cutest girl he can find, though he wouldn’t mind winning the bet. He would likely abandon the person he gave his death note to at any opportunity to go and check out any nearby girls or to haunt the nearest girls’ locker room. Gook despises the rule that forbids him from what he would most like to do with a human girl. He is as likely as Ryuk to become easily addicted to apples, as his love for earthly pleasures exceeds that of the other shinigami.

Name: Armonia Jastin Beyondllemason
Personality: Very mysterious and has a bit of a fascination with jewels. He is known to be a strict supporter of following the rules and would never break them or allow others to do so, as he keeps the scrolls of the rules with him (and was the one who originally showed them to Shidoh). Unlike the others, he isn’t completely heartless and is the only one of the group who would seem capable of actually developing feelings for a human, though not too likely. He is participating in the bet for fun as well as to make sure no rules are broken. He could care less about winning, though.

Shidoh:
Personality: Kind of a coward. Soft-spoken, clumsy, and a little bit stupid, he is willing to let humans order him around if they scare him enough. Ryuk managed to steal his death note in the first Kira case. Has a love of chocolate.

Name: Ryuuku (Ryuk)
Personality: Has a hatred for the shinigami world, as nothing ever seems to happen there. This leads him to his visits to the human world. He refuses to get involved with any Kiras any further than giving them the death note, but enjoys conversing with them and finds the struggles they go through quite funny, often letting out an evil cackle when things seem to be taking a turn for the worse. Obviously, he has an addiction to apples, which he was never able to completely break, eventually forcing him to head back to the human world.
