Title: Fallen Sun

Destroyer - April 13, 2008 07:13 AM (GMT)
Right, here we go, Helion Legion FanFic. Why? I'm bored. Name? Helios means Sun in a vague way. If you think I've misrepresented your navis, let me know. If you would like your navi to be in it, let me know. For the moment I'm just going off of the second part of the RP, with slight variations. The real fun is going to be when the heroes get to the new Helion Base, because it was always going to happen.

This may not make much sense to some, so here's the RP that came before this.
http://www.mediafire.com/?wytxg20cdxz

It had been a time of relative peace in the world, following the events of the Helion Legion's large scale 'demonstration' in Net City. Most of the turrets had been repaired and reprogrammed to reject any orders during a security lockdown. Netdealers had refilled their stocks and had once again set up shop and life was returning to normal. Unfortunately for Numberman, that normal meant being mugged by Blazer... Again.

Information gathered from data disks found in the remains of the old Helion base revealed them to be mercenaries, working for an unkown group.

Holias Di Vetris, now known once again as Holly, has found her operator, and begun a more peaceful life. Since Holias is the only real source of information on the Legion and it's technology, she is kept under constant watch by the officials.

Since then however, the Undernet has become an even more dangerous place. There have been unconfirmed reports of some 'thing' that is 'coming'. Officials were first inclined to ignore these reports, as they came from unreliable sources. However, due to the overwhelming number of these reports, and the interest a group of hooded navis have taken in Holly, has lead the Officials to one conclusion.

"They're back."

It was a fine day in Net City. Not that any day was ever any different to any other weather-wise. Gravity Wave, an aquamarine coloured navi, had just completed his shopping for the day. He was humming a song, breaking into outright singing as it reached his favourite lyrical part, much to the surprise of those around him.

"Ride True Gravity! Just Ride True Up A Plan! Ride True Gravity! Ride True Now And Let Them Loose, Oh! Ride through Gravity! For All That's Knocked Falls Down! Watch Your Anomalies! When All Will Believe In It, Oh!"

He stopped singing when he noticed a grey and yellow female navi in front of him, looking rather troubled.
"Need any help, ma'am?" He asked.

Gravity was fully aware who it was. It was Holias Di Vetris, former scientist of the Helion Legion. She had turned against the Helion Legion during the incident in the past, though this information was mostly confidential.

As he was asking if she needed help, two brown cloaked figures watched them from the shadows of a nearby alley.

"No, not at all. Why do you a..." Holias began, only to be interrupted by Gravity.
"Pardon me, forgot to introduce myself. Name's Gravity Wave. Well, that's one of my names. The other's Juuryoku Shuuha, which is Gravity Wave in Japanese. You can call me GW or JS for short."
Gravity bowed slightly.
"I was just over in that store buying a few supplies for someone, but I noticed you seemed different from everyone else around here. You still seemed troubled though. Anything I can help you with?"
Holias, now whispering, "That navi behind you, I recognize him, but not the one he's with."
Gravity turned around.
"Hm... The Black navi... Halos Di Zeris wasn't it? Thought he was defeated in combat by Seion Yuukai 4 months ago..."

"Hello Holias," Halos said slowly, "Long time no see. But as YOU can see, as I no longer can, I'm still alive, still haunting you, and your friends. It was an interesting experience, travelling to Helios' realm, but no-where near as enjoyable as the ride back, no matter how temporary my stays are now. The Legion is back, and I offer you a place in it. I shall not offer again. Refuse, and you, and your friend, will be deleted."

"I..." Holias began, only to be cut off once more by Gravity, his voice now full of confidence.
"Heh. You better watch your back then, seeing as you're gonna be put straight through that same experience, though this time around, its gonna be much more fatal, and you will not be able to escape. Seion beat you once, and he'll beat you again."
Gravity raised his hand into the air, altering the effects of gravity around him, forming an aura around him, and causing him to float in the air.
"But where are your manners? You haven't introduced us to your friend here." Gravity stated.

"Wrong on all accounts. I cannot be deleted like any normal navi such as yourself. I would return to Helios' world, where I would reform, ready to enter this world again. Seion only beat me because he had the element of surprise. Something I should have expected, but didn't, due to the fact it was MY base. And my friend here, is here to succeed where I may fail. Our sponsors did not take too kindly to our failure last time, and have taken matters into their own hands."
The navi beside Halos, still covered by a dark cloak, spoke, his voice harsh and metallic.
"Stop stalling and finish it, or I will."

"I never said he would delete you...But then again it wouldn't matter. I believe you have a bit of catching up to do with my clients..." Gravity said, before whistling loudly. The two navis hiding in the alley immediately looked up, and charged straight at Halos and his ally, swords slashing. Halos seemed unfazed by the attack, and his accomplice remained unmoving.

"Hmph. Wish I could say 'Long Time, No See', but apparently this 4 month separation has blinded you. I see you've also brought an acquaintance."
FZNR said.
"This isn't the proper time to fight anyhow. I suggest you go back to Helios's World before you begin to suffer the side effects of staying longer than your limit allows." NK stated.

"We have developed a newer way of summoning Helios, a way with no limits. But I recognize those voices. You will not escape me again. Not if I leave you here. For good." Halos said mockingly, as he began to float into the air, chanting some strange incantation.

Halos' partner growled, "Ahh, so it is you two... We have been looking forward to this day."
"something's wrong here..." Holias thought aloud.

Gravity Wave lifted his hands again, this time pointing them directly at Halos, before several large chunks of rock were hurled at him, knocking him back, but not stopping his strange chant. Then something strange happened. Halos stopped chanting, and his eyes could be seen glowing behind his visor. Everything went white, and when Gravity could see again, his brothers were encased in clear glass cages, unable to move.
"And a third brother you seem to be. All the less fortunate for you then." Halos said, bringing his rifle to bear on Gravity, blasting him with his Gatling Laser. Halos' ally simply stood where he was, seemingly unaware of what was going on around him.

Meanwhile, several streets away, Numberman was crying.
"Please, I'm telling you, I don't keep any chips with me, I swear..."
Blazer stood over Numberman, sword held to his throat.
"I hope for your sake then, that Higsby gives you some very soon."
"Aiiieeee, nooo!"
But Blazer wasn't looking at Numberman anymore.
"You're lucky this time." He said, running off to where he had thought he'd heard the sounds of fighting.

Heh, I just read over what's coming next. Now this will get very interesting very fast.
This isn't the whole first chapter, just how much I got done in a weekend where I started half an hour before bedtime on Saturday. If I made any mistakes anywhere, you have suggestions or my style needs work, please tell me.

I'm no grammar expert so I won't be able to help you but I will give you some comments...

It's nice but I think you should put some feeling in it. Like...

Yeah maybe that'll do. That's what I do with my fic...

I always thought I was a bit bland when I did that. Thanks for the tip.

Gravity Wave smirked as Halos' bullets were absorbed by his aura.
"Hah! Want to try again?" Gravity laughed, as he formed his arm into a sword, ready to free his trapped brothers. But before he could smash the glass prisons, Halos' ally acted. In an instant he disappeared, and reappeared in front of Gravity wave, making to run him through. Gravity desperately deflected the attack, and engaged the assassin in close combat.

"It seems Gireen has finally decided to join the fight," Halos said, forming his sword into a hand, "and it also seems you are no match for him."

There was a flash of orange, and Blazer appeared, sword held behind him, a deep gash accross Halos' chest.
"You need to be more careful. People could catch you off guard, like I just did." Blazer said smugly, looking over his shoulder.
"That's great Blazer, but can you give me a hand here?" Gravity yelled, barely deflecting Gireen's relentless attacks.
"No need," Gireen hissed, "This fight is over."
Gireen stopped attacking, and raised his arm.
"Goodbye, heroes."
He slammed the ground, and it fell away beneath the four navis, forming over when they had fallen through.

"Was that really necessary?" Halos asked.
"They can do no harm down there." Gireen replied.
"And our payment?"
"The Shadow Force will pay only when the mission has been completed.
"Very well. HELIOS!"
"You rang?" Helios chided, warping in behind Halos.
"Take the girl. We can refuse her with bugs. I'll deal with them." Halos ordered, turning to where the heroes had fallen.
"And the veil?" Gireen asked?
"Our technology is advanced Gireen," Halos said, "But not so advanced that it does not require a power source.
"And what source of power might that be?" Gireen asked.
"Life essence. Regular navis would provide no power, but you, a member of the Shadow Force..." Helios stated.
"You..." Gireen began, but Halos had already drawn his rifle, and blown Gireen to pieces.
Holly's eyes went wide.

When Blazer awoke, he found himself in a large room, resembling a sewer in Paris. He saw Kaijin standing by an archway.
"Ahh, you're awake." Kaijin said, turning to face Blazer.
"Barely. What happened and how are we going to deal with it?"
"Slow down dude, I don't know either. But we can't stay here long. The Legion is patrolling the area and they'll find us before long."
"Let them find us," Blazer said, restarting his sword, "I could use a good fight."
"I'd like to do that too but we don't know how many of them there are down here. For all we know there could be thousands of them."
"It's not like you to think like that." Blazer stated.
"I've fought this lot before. They're not called the Helion Legion for nothing you know."
"Fine, what do you propose we do then? Can't we just jack out?"
"Don't bother. There's some kind of field down here that distorts long range connections."
"So what CAN we..."
"Quiet!" Kaijin hissed. "They're coming."
Two Helion Grunts walked past the archway.
"I don't like these Shadow Force people, there's something not quite right about them." One Grunt said.
"I know what you mean, but it's business as usual. Besides, Halos is probably planning something big..." The other grunt was pulled aside, into the archway.
"Hey what the..." But that grunt had been pulled aside too.
"Alright you," Blazer growled, aiming his sword at the first Grunt's throat, "What's going on and where are we?"
"HEL..." The Grunt began, but was quickly silenced by Blazer's sword.
"Let's hope you'll be more co-operative than your buddy." Kaijin said, turning to face the other.
"Not likely." the Grunt said, not caring that he was about to die.
"Very well." Kaijin said, running the grunt through.
"That wasn't so hard was it Kaijin?"
"'Shadow Force' Huh? We're still no closer to anywhere. Come on, we need to find the others."

Gravity Wave was running. He'd survived the fall. That was a good sign, but now there was a massive glob of Hellium chasing him through this labrynth.
"Don't you ever give up!?" Gravity yelled, jumping around another corner, hoping it wasn't a dead end. Fortunately for him, it wasn't. Unfortunately for him, his arm was damaged and he couldn't form any weapons with it.
The Hellium rounded the corner, and quickly chased after Gravity. It filled the entire passageway, blocking any chance of jumping past it.
Gravity entered a large room, with many pillars in it. He dived behind the nearest pillar, hoping he could push it over to slow the Hellium. As Gravity heaved, he heard a loud explosion, and the entrance to the chamber collapsed.
"Looks like I made it in time." Forute said, stepping out from another pillar.
"I had it under control." Gravity retorted.
Forute didn't respond.
"Forute?" Gravity asked, walking up to him.
"This is... Where... This is the old Helion base. That door I just closed was the exit Holly used to escape at the end of it all..." Forute said slowly.
"This is it? And that was the exit. That's just great. That means the only way is forwards."
Forute shook his head.
"We need to find the others. They don't know what's down here."
"Kaijin was here with you wasn't he? Surely he'll recognize something?"

Kaijin stopped walking.
"What's wrong?" Blazer asked.
"Something's wrong here. This place seems familiar."
"How can it be familiar? We haven't been going in circles have we?"
"No it's something else. I'm sure it's not important."

Halos was pacing.
"Must you do that?" Holly asked, chained to a table.
Halos stopped.
"Now now my dear, be patient. The doctors will be done with you shortly." Halos replied, turning to face her.
"I'd rather die than serve you again." Holly spat.
"I'm afraid that won't make a difference this time. We can't have you running off to join your 'friends' now can we? Ah, Holus."
Holus had just walked into the room, mute as always.
"Our guest's friends are snooping around, and this time they've been seperated. Take a battalion of troops and deal with them."
Holus left, without a sound.

Kaijin and Blazer were running.
"I thought you said you wanted a fight!" Kaijin yelled.
"Not an impossible fight!" Blazer yelled back, diving around a corner.
The glob of Hellium that had been chasing Gravity earlier had given up that chase, and was now after Blazer and Kaijin.
"Quick, in here!" Blazer said hastily.
"I hope you know what you're doing!" Kaijin replied, following him.
"Bad idea!" Blazer shouted.
"What do y... Oh."
It was a dead end.
"Plan B!" Blazer yelled, turning around.
"What's plan B?" Kaijin asked, also turning around.
"Cut the floor open and hope there's another one below it!"
Blazer stabbed the ground, quickly spinning in a circle. Just before the Hellium reached them, the floor gave way, and they fell once more.

"This way!" Forute called back to Gravity.
"Can't we just take a break? If they're looking for us, and we're looking for them, what are the chances we'll find each other?" Gravity said.
Just as Forute was about to grab Gravity and keep running, the roof above gave way, and Kaijin and Blazer fell through it in a heap.
"How nice of you to drop in." Gravity joked.
"No time!" Blazer said quickly, getting to his feet. "Just keep running!"
Gravity was about to ask why, when he was pulled aside by Forute just before a stream of Hellium fell right where he'd been standing.
"Point taken. Let's go." Gravity said, slightly shaken.
The group took off, away from the pooling Hellium.
"Hold it!" Gravity said, stopping. "I have an idea."

*

"Ready Blazer?" Forute called, from the other side of the pooling Hellium.
"Born ready." Blazer replied, raising his sword.
"GO!" Gravity yelled.
Blazer slammed the ground, and a line of magma surged forwards, directly under the Hellium. The substance bubbled, but continued growing.
"Fire!" Kaijin yelled, bringing his buster to bear.
The three brothers fired their busters, each at different points on the Hellium. The magma underneath it cooled and cracked, and so did the Hellium. The Hellium rumbled, and shattered.
"Gravity, you're up!" Blazer yelled, raising his sword again.
The floor underneath the Hellium rose up, but the frozen fragments of Hellium fell between the chunks. Once all the Hellium had fallen through, the ground lowered to its original position with a crunch.
"I told you I had it under control." Gravity said, lowering his arms.
"We'd better get going." Kaijin said. "There're sentries everywhere. One of them must have heard all that."

Halos was not happy.
"I told them we should've deleted them when we had the chance!" He yelled, pacing once more.
"You plan to betray them do you not?" Another navi asked. "Surely you can use them to your advantage?"
"That's besides the point! He will not be pleased to hear his Hellium is gone."
"That problem can be easily fixed."
Halos turned to face the female navi.
"I hope you're right..." He said slowly, to Holias Di Vetris.

Blazer stopped. He'd been walking in front of the brothers, yet somehow still following them. He turned to look through an archway.
"What's up Blazer?" Gravity asked, walking up beside him.
"Kaijin, you're right. There ARE thousands of them down here." Blazer said, switching his sword back on.
"No, I counted millions." Gravity whispered.
"Thanks for the update, but I don't see how that's gonna help us in the long run." Kaijin and Forute said together.
Through the archway was a massive chamber, with an entire battalion of Helion Legionnarres marching through it.
"Hopefully they haven't seen us yet." Gravity whispered, stepping back.
"Oh, they haven't," Said a voice behind them, "But I have."
"Helios!" Forute and Kajin shouted, once more in unison.

Now, if you didn't read the rp, some of that will make even less sense. So it's best you did. Hot tip: Holias Di Vetris is Holly when she was working for the Legion.
